Most likely, the officers would have liked to join the protesters that day.

Riot police are not called in by the Governor. That would be the National Guard.

They are called in by the municipality.

It will not appear in the guise of riot police or those attempting to stomp out freedom, but it will come draped in an American flag and it will call itself "Patriotism" and "Liberty." What is easy to train, very loyal and has little ability to think for itself? How about any one of these Nazi Clowns dressed in black. Notice no water bottles were thrown by the TV media described "angry'' Tea Partiers. In contrast the poor illegals in Arizona who just want "a better life for their families" proceeded to pelt police with a barrage of bottles. It's too obvious when the police are trained by the Dept. of Homeland Security to accommodate the illegals and to intimidate and incarcerate legal U.S. Citizens for peaceful speech and assembly, we have a corrupt government.
