  • Right on!

  • Can we just get good reactions from TNG cast for once ?

  • @cyclopstb That's just not possible with Star Trek XI to get positive reviews.

  • Eh whatever the new star trek movie was better than TOS..

TNG however will always reign supreme. Except Nemesis. That movie fucking sucked hard.

  • @GeneralGrin I really enjoyed your recut videos up till this point. I think that it's unfortunate that you spoiled such a fun series by polarising your viewers in this way. Once again the internet has managed to show me things that give me hope and happiness and then tear it away just as quickly in such a cruel and close-minded way.

It's a shame that fans of a show about open-minded hope for the future can be such a closed-minded bunch. Trek is more fun without Trekkies.

  • @EuroMIX2 Such an inspiring message you said at the end.

  • I'd still rather watch the new Star Trek film than Battlestar whatever or any other Sci-Fi series.

  • DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE CAPTAIN !

  • I own ever Star Trek Movie and Episode ever made on DVD... EXCEPT THAT ONE! And I intend not to buy it. Went and watched ti at Kennedy Space Center when it opened, first trip to KSC that I disliked. Not exactly sure what part I didn't like, it was a great sci fi movie but lacked the character and sole of Star Trek.

  • I don't see the problem with the new film - they make it quite clear that it is set in an alternate universe - possibly even the set-up for the one seen in the TOS series. The actors were picked fairly well and the plot was fairly believable along Trekkie standards...though the thing with Uhura just got way out of hand. Overall it wasx a good movie and very enjoyable for those who take the universe's perplexities into account.

  • I also agree with Picard, it is wrong and I hate it.

  • i agree with picard

  • that was hysterical

  • DanFrederiksen & MyceliaProductions42: Two, brain washed by hippy teachers, morons trying to sound all wise about issues they know nothing about. Each one of these morons are trying to sound smarter than the other. It is time for the two of you to attend the school of facts. Fact many people believe in the devil. Fact, the USA is not an "empire", it is a Democratic Republic! Fact, 89% of military people are collage educated and are way smarter than you two! GET A BRAIN Scare Crows!

  • @Trekfreek maybe some of them can even spell college

  • @DanFrederiksen OMG! Just because I can't spell does not mean I'm dumb Jack ass! It's called dyslexia! LOOK IT UP JERK! BOY YOU ARE DUMB!

  • @Trekfreek I know what dyslexia is but it was a good put down. that you more than deserved. you are not dumb because of dyslexia. you are dumb because you choose to be a loud mouth idiot. I suggest a change.

if the idiots in uniform had any mind they would not partake in wars based on obvious lies. but they do and proudly so. deal with it.

and of course they don't design drones. fools from MIT do that in service of that evil. just like nazi scientists didn't stop to ask what they were doing

  • @DanFrederiksen It is not a good put down because it's coming form the dumbest person on the earth! Military people do not have a choice. If their commander and chief say go to war they MUST go to war! That is the way our country works! If you don't believe me then enlist and see for yourself!!! America has an open door policy...You don't like its policies than move to a country better suited for you left wing idiotic beliefs!

  • @Trekfreek of course they have a choice. even if dumb enough to have joined in the first place they can always say no. the threat of court martial of jail time is no excuse to keep killing in service of satan. obviously.

as for me I'm one of the smartest people in the world. and I'm not from USA.

Einstein was classified a security risk by the US military during the Manhattan project due to his leftist views. the scientists on the project weren't allowed to speak to him.

  • @DanFrederiksen Wrong again! I have worked with both honorable & dishonorable discharges. Dishonorables have trouble getting work, they are not trusted by anyone, & most lose their families. Also was it Satan’s will to kill an evil man for brutalizing his own people & aiding terrorist cells? We may have gone in under fails information but this is the exception that proves the rule "Two wrongs don't make a right". We did a wrong & something right came out of it! Iraq is free!

  • @Trekfreek no it was satan's will to use excuses like removing Saddam to accomplish the murder of one million people and sinking USA deep in guilt.

if removing Saddam was the goal it could have been done surgically. but it was not the goal.

I'm sure you come from a family of idiots who were military which is why you so blindly defend it. but it's time to wake up.

  • @DanFrederiksen 1st off there were only thousands killed (not murdered!) not millions! 2nd, there would have been no invasion if Saddam had let the U.N. inspectors in freely without week long delays. 3rd, U.S. satellites had shown unmarked large trucks leaving his country into his allied countries with armed escorts during those days. 4th (classified information) President Clinton tried to remove Saddom surgically and failed...or so I'm told by a reliable source. It is you who needs to wake up!

  • Sometimes, war is the only way to stop the bad guys from killing innocent people. Even God knows this; after all he did recruit Joan of Arc to remove an evil King from the throne of France. Also, even Jesus, when he saw the merchants using the temple to make a profit, MADE A WHIP (that takes a great deal of effort and time) and started to whip the merchants and turn over tables. Punishing the wicked is not evil or "satan's will". Remember what Sadam did to innocent lives Horrific!

  • @Trekfreek You're either young (around 16-18) or just an incredibly naive adult.

  • @tightlypackedcoil You are 33 years old, you have a baby girl that you love to film. You are very privet about your personal likes (at least you don't post them) and you really really hate war. How do I know these things about you? That's RIGHT! RESEARCH IS THE NAME OF THE GAME! I know what I know because I don't live in isolation. But you obviously do because you don't even know my age. Did you know that St. Joan of Arc was originally hated by the Catholic Church and burned at the stake? I do!

  • @tightlypackedcoil Use that brain Do the research! Naiveté comes from lack of knowledge not from disagreeing with people who think that evil can be reasoned with, like you. Naive people truly think that if God is all good he must never do horrible things. Yet they cheer when they see the good guy of a movie rip off the bad guy's arms. There are times when a good man must go to war. This does not change him into a bad man; only a true naive person believes it does.

  • @DanFrederiksen "Einstein was classified a security risk by the US military during the Manhattan project due to his leftist views" only part right. It was because he was German and his political views reflected that. You’re not smart, you know nothing about what the military go through and you know nothing about how the world really works. You think you’re smart because of all the opinions presented to you in school as facts. Stay out of our buisness "not form the USA"!

  • @Trekfreek he was a jew you moron. he had no sympathy for nazi politics.

  • @DanFrederiksen Wrong again! Before the Nazis decided to blame the Jews there were Jews who supported the Nazi party Even voted for them!. Also other political parties in Germany had similar points of view to the Nazi party. You don't know your history! Imbecile!

  • @Trekfreek yeah you're right, Einstein was a nazi. I'm just an imbecile.

  • @DanFrederiksen I did not say that. I said "his political views reflected" the Nazi party. He never told anyone what party he supported in Germany. You really should pay attention and stop trying to fill holes with your own narrow point of view of the world. Do research. Einstein disagreed with one point the Nazis stood for. That was military superiority. Einstein believed that world communism could be achieved and maintained without violence. He of course was wrong.

  • lol. yes the new star trek is star trek for dumb jocks. all action, no thought.

and how disgusting the parallel to recruitment of idiots for the satanic US military.

some drunk idiot in a bar picking fights, encouraged to 'enlist in star fleet' and without thought and through brash action he is suddenly the captain of the flagship in star fleet. shamelessly and wickedly feeding into the retardation of red state usa

  • @DanFrederiksen Lol. You see 'Satan' in everything, so it stands to reason that you see it here too. Sad.

  • @MyceliaProductions42 I'm just not mindless like you. I don't see evil in everything. only in that which promotes evil. flattery of the idiots in military uniform is certainly evil.

starting the war in Iraq based on obvious lies and killing a million people is certainly evil too.

  • @DanFrederiksen "idiots in military uniform"? Those "idiots" design and fly state of the art robot plains, read physic books that would give Newton headaches, knows the capital of every state in the U.S.A. and knows the location of countries you never even heard of! Also the military did not start the war in Iraq, your representatives did. Also, murdering millions is evil but killing is not. “If they’re on the battle field and shooting at you their guilty!" (Kelsey Grammar).

  • Agreed, but I still don't see all the US military as evil. And it's not like ours is the only fucked-up empire around filled with fucked-up warmongers. I have huge problems with how our country runs its business and bullies overseas, but I just think that too often we tend to forget that there are OTHER countries with terrible track records and terrible individuals with too much power. That's a fair thing to say.

  • Sorry about the 'Satan in everything' reference...That was a bit much too soon, but I don't think Satan is a real entity. It's all too human to do horrible things to each other. Hopefully, we shall evolve past this, but for now, we're still mostly apes wearing shoes. :-/

  • anyone notice how the early trailers for the new star trek trailer said kirk's father was captain for 12 minutes, and later trailers said 12 seconds?

  • I wonder if JJ Abrams is behind the prequels of Star Wars... nah, probably no.

  • @DarthRushy Hay! I like the prequels of Star Wars. They are fun fantasy stories, just like the first three are. Besides, J.J. can't hold a camera still and the prequels of Star Wars had fantastic camera shots.

  • @Trekfreek Yeah, Prequels have some good stuff( I've got nothing against JJB) but Anakin's turn to the Dark Side could've been "documented" more like it was explained in the OT. Like Anakin fell to the Dark side out of pure desire for power, etc.

  • @DarthRushy If you had paid attention to the first three movies you would have noticed that the motive of Anakin to turn evil was never made clear. EP4: "He was a pupil of mine, till he turned to evil...” Ep5 & 6, "Anger, fear, oppression the dark side are they" Ep5 "consume you it will as it did Obiwan's apprentice." With the Prequels you find out what tempted him to search for greater power, and it showed what power does to a person like Anakin. As I said, for fantasy they are good stories.

  • Gotta agree with Jean Luc on this one.......JJ Trek was wrong on so many levels

  • @BattlestarPacifica I agree. I still can't believe they made it. It would have been ok if they just made up a new crew, but ohhh nooo, they have to mess with the old. D:<

  • its funny thats the second time someone made a joke using that scene to say how picard reacted to finding out about star trek 11.

  • It was a good movie SHOP BEING BITCHY GIRLS

  • Movie: Awesome.

The fact that it completely negated(claiming it an alternate timeline) almost everything Gene Roddenberry saw created in his dream:Utterly wrong.

  • @DarthRushy Hollyweird crack heads like JJ don't have enough original ideas, so they "improve" other people's good ideas.

  • I love Jean Luke Picard)

  • he's just jealous cus theres no black people in it

  • I hated the new Trek. I was really excited when I first heard they were doing it, but it didn't have the right feel to it. It was just too much about "action" and although ST is action/adventure sci-fi, the new film was too glossy. I loved Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto as Spock and Bones, but I couldn't suspend my disbelief at Chris Pine as the younger Kirk. And whilst many people laugh at Bill Shatner, he IS Kirk. I wish I could have liked the film but the original cast were magic.

  • I always feel the need to watch the new Star Trek, so I put the DVD on and I love it, but then 2 minutes after the end of the film I feel unclean.

  • @leeham991 omg, it's so true

  • @TheAtheistFuture

Luckily I have all the previous Star Trek films on DVD too so all is sorted in the end :D

  • why must there be hate why were all trekkies trekkers yet we all seem to be at each others throats why i ask now it seems we all feel the need to lash out at the haters and the lovers of the reboot/reinvention so my solution is simple now imajine if the next film were more like the original series and not about loud bangs and flash cgi i think you will find little to argue over may all my fellow fans live long nd prosper

  • hey this is a pretty good video and i detect some people who have failed to understand that the original timeline still exsits a shed load of books are being planned that are set in the prime universe so yes that universe still exsits

  • @LibertyLuvr1969 Ever hear of parallel universes? ever hear of the only logical solution to the Grandfather Paradox? ( which btw the latest Star Trek movie does in fact cause because Nero went back in time to kill Kirk and while in the universe presented in the movie he did not succeed in another parallel one he did which triggers the question: How can you go back in time to kill something which you've never known to have existed?).

  • Comment removed

  • @BondFreek Hmm considering it was fairly early in the existence of the Federation and that we don't know what Nero did for like 20 years (doubtful that ship could've avoided detection that long considering it's a mining ship after all ) and trust me as someone who knows a thing or two about physics more than you (majoring in the damn thing after all) all the changes in your precious canon is well within feasibility.

  • @Black1Wolf2 How are they feasible? How can Nero’s presents in the 23rd century change the technology of a ship that he just encountered? Explain it to me sir! The Kelvin's interior looks nothing like the interior of the original Enterprise. It does not even look like a continuation of the Enterprise in the last series. Also explain to me how the Engine room is now a beer factory (literally).

  • @BondFreek Consider the following:1)the NX-01 Enterprise was a pre-Federation vessel so similarities between it and the Kelvin would be minimal at best; 2)the Kelvin itself is at least 2 decades removed from the new Enterprise and by original canon about 3 from the TOS Enterprise so it's like comparing a Galaxy class to at least a Defiant class ship in terms of design;3)consider that, again, the Enterprise is at least one decade older than it's TOS variant so the beer factory works, think NX-01 :P

  • @Black1Wolf2 Than why was the Kelvin more advanced than the original Enterprise and why does the "new" Enterprise have the exact same technology as the Kelvin. So, ships that are 10 years older than the real Enterprise runs on Beer? Then explain why Pike and Chekov are 15 years older than the Pike and Chekov in the real show. Did Nero's presents speed up their aging process, and if so why did no one notice? Face it! The movie is just plain stupid.

  • @BondFreek More advanced? By what fact do you base that off ? Also Chekov in the movie:17, in TOS 22 so well within the buffer zone of the ripple effect, though Pike being older is a plothole but it is worth mentioning his actual age is never mentioned in the movie or in TOS(in TOS for his age at the beginning of his command of the Enterprise) Either way they created a new parallel universe in the movie so both the original Star Trek and the new one still exist so feel free to watch the original

  • @Black1Wolf2. Did the original Enterprise have a hologram for a view screen? NO! Pike & Chekov being older is not a plot hole it is a huge continuity mistake! Also it is not a parallel universe; it is an alternate time line! With an alternate time line the original time line is erased and replaced with a new one. They said so in the movie! Stop making shit up just so that you have an excuse to like "Star Trek: The Star Wars version."

  • @BondFreek Traveling back in time takes you out of your universe and into a parallel one, think Sliders, because your starting universe did not have you in the past thus you traveling back shifts you from your original quantum universe into another thus preserving your original timeline (ergo the old Star Trek canon), this is the only solution to the grandfather paradox and it fits nicely with the new Star Trek movie (the alternate Nero can't destroy Vulcan because it no longer exists in his

  • @Black1Wolf2 Sliders is not time travel. Also, if you did not notice, they never made it back to their universe. Why because they kept creating new universes with their actions. Star Trek on the other hand always focused (until Voyager) on repairing the time line. Think “Back to the Future”; When Someone changed the past it remained changed. Also even as a standalone film it sucks; Bad story, script, week plots, bad camera shots, week acting. Pirates (XXX) is a better movie than Star Trek(XI).

  • timeline thus the grandfather paradox applies because he cannot seek vengeance against Spock, hell the alternate Spock might not even wish to save Romulus to begin with thus causing more paradoxes. Also the current view screen isn't a hologram, it looks more like a dual function monitor (window/monitor), such devices are currently in theoretical stages:P.Also Chekov in the movie IS YOUNGER than his TOS version, get that straight now kindly move along as you're becoming a troll and I don't feed em

  • @Black1Wolf2 You love it so much yet you don't observe. "Polarize the view screen" The key word is "polarize". Look it up. Chekov was 22 in the second season when Kirk was 34 in the second season a difference of 12 years. Now Kirk is 24 and Chekov is still 22. What happened to the 10 year gap? I'm not a troll you just don't want to face the fact the movie SUCKS!

  • @BondFreek ok clearly this needs to be debated more in private as it's beginning to look like we'll be at this for another 20 or so comment, wouldn't you agree? o.O

  • @Black1Wolf2 No, I don't think so. It is very simple I know tech you don't. You like this poorly made film I don't. You like mindless movies, I don't (Even Godzilla films have more morals in them).

  • @CreativeCanberran You are aware that Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Scotty, etc in the movie are shown several years younger than in the series and subsequent movies, right? and that the presence of Nero in that timeline has altered history significantly ( ripple effect, Kirk having no male role model, father, being the obvious one but the ripples can go as far as all the other characters via implication, IE: one of the crew killed on the ship Kirk's parents were on affected how McCoy's divorce went, etc)

  • @LibertyLuvr1969 Enterprise was a piece of shit.

  • @LibertyLuvr1969 They didn't fail to restore the timeline because the original timeline WASN'T CHANGED. They went through the "black hole" into ANOTHER UNIVERSE.

The original timeline continues on unaffected.

  • @billyboyjennings and that message must be broadcast to the people who two years later still have not got a clue

  • LOL!!!!! Anyone who likes the new movie is a traitor and enemy!

  • @Danielboulder1 It sucks ass!

  • @Danielboulder1

Well I never claimed to be a fan to begin with, and I'm glad I'm not if it means I have to prescribe to whims of the fanbase. I'll just enjoy watching any Trek I feel and enjoying what I enjoy. If Trekkies don't like that then that's their problem. Voyager is my favourite series, First Contact my favourite film and I enjoyed XI. If that makes me a "traitor and an enemy" then I'm glad.

  • @CreativeCanberran "applauds" lets not forget how o'hura was a tramp in this one. romulans with tattoos? Pike out of the timeline?Checov and scotty clowns? sulu a superhero? spock quinto could not even lift his damn eye brow at the end of the movie with nimoy , how bad is that . as soon as the intro started playing rage against the machine I knew the movie was over. I walked out often 5 times. then decided to go back to stand up and endure the rest of the mochery. I threw popcorn .

  • LOL!!!!!

  • They can't say anything after nemesis

  • @GizmoGardenia the battle at the end of the film was probably the only thing worth anything in that movie but alas not the casts fault that the script was horrible and about a 1/3rd of the movie would end up on the cutting room floor that would have made the movie somewhat better. But alas whats done is done. While I liked this movie it did however give me worries that they would turn it into a action vehicle franchise with no real ties to the brand.

  • You should have done this with the Original Series crew.

  • @CreativeCanberran what sucks even more is the fact that this movie will probably screw us on ever having another good star trek series

  • Picard is being a big fat whinner in these(espeacialy in the one where he shoots data) Sure the MOVIE stank to high hevan, but the trailer is actualy pretty cool, and doesn't reveal how badly @#$%-ed up the movie is.

  • FUCKINGNFAGET

  • Think of the new Star Treak as taking place in an alternate dimension, then everything is better.

  • @WebVMan It does take place in an alternate universe.

  • Picard's just mad because he doesn't exist anymore. He has been wiped out of existence, and if he does exist he may not be a Captain, or even enlist in Starfleet.

  • @walmartpimp2 The original Star Trek timeline still exists. The new movie did not destroy it. This was stated by the creators of the film.

  • @billyboyjennings I am aware that they stated this, but their statement contradicts all the time travel episodes and movies through out the Star Trek series. If Abrams statement is true than in First Contact the crew traveled back in time for nothing, in the Voyager Finale Janeway traveled back in time to the Delta Quadrant for nothing, In DS9 Sisko and crew travel back to Trouble with Tribbles for nothing, etc...etc...So in reality TOS, TNG, VOY and thankfully DS9 didn't happen.

  • @walmartpimp2 No, it does not contradict those episodes. In the Enterprise episode "A Mirror Darkly" a Constitution class from the prime universe is pulled into a different universe AND into the past. It didn't delete the original timeline because it wasn't the same universe. This is also what happens with the Narada and Jellyfish (a really stupid ship name) in the movie. TNG "Parallels" shows us there are infinite other universes similar to the prime reality.

    The original timeline still exists.

  • @billyboyjennings Yes those other episodes establish that their are parallel universes, but they do not establish that they are created from a time traveler changing history. In "A Mirror Darkly" The ship traveled back in time into another reality but it didn't create it, the reality was already in existence. While we are on the subject of Enterprise, if traveling back in time creates a new reality what was the purpose of the time police, or the temporal cold war?

  • @walmartpimp2 the prime timeline exists the new movie is an alternate dimension. Like the mirror universe

  • @ralphy329 I am aware that they stated this, but their statement contradicts all the time travel episodes and movies through out the Star Trek series. If Abrams statement is true than in First Contact the crew traveled back in time for nothing, in the Voyager Finale Janeway traveled back in time to the Delta Quadrant for nothing, In DS9 Sisko and crew travel back in time to Trouble with Tribbles for nothing, etc...etc...So in reality TOS, TNG, VOY and thankfully DS9 didn't happen.

  • Star Trek 11 compared to the old shows,... shows the stark difference of generations!

Everything today has to be quicker, full of melodrama, big explosions, talking heads, fast ideas!

Just imagine how the BORG would look under J. J. Abrams!

  • I've watched trek for 20 years and I like the new movie......Things change and concepts change.....get over it hard core trekists.....For people who love watching a show about the future and advancement.....you sure are quick to dismiss all things advance and modern.....

  • @Pugwash81 And that is what I find hilarious. I think a lot of people walked into this movie thinking it was going to be a carbon copy of TOS. The only real complaint I had was how they tried to shoe horn every character into the movie just like DS9 tried to shoe horn every character into the Mirror Universe episodes. It would have been more realistic had some characters simply vanished from the new timeline because of the changes rather than convenient plot points bringing them in.

  • I didnt expect it to be a copy of TOS. But i did expect it to be "Star Trek" (actually i didnt, since its JJ Abrams.). It had nothing that usually makes Star Trek what it is. If done correctly a movie where Kirk and Spock meet could have been good. But this wasnt it. The idea that everybody would meet up on the enterprise at the same time is just stupid. McCoy would have been in SF long Before Kirk. & Kirk would be there long before Chekov. It Was Star Wars 90210, shallow & stupid.

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • Sorry ya'll but I liked the new Star Trek movie

  • @PenultimateRun i liked it :"(

  • It is WRONg, I Hate IT! Best description of this movie! :)

  • LOL!!! It is wrong! I hate it! OMG LOL!!!!!111

  • What I would love to see would be a movie or another series with the star trek ds9 attitude. I loved all the series and movies (even some of enterprise) and the new star trek movie that came out was fun to watch even if it kind of left a sour taste in the mouth afterwards to anyone who knows the franchise.

  • @evilmasterful You loved all the movies, even Generations and Insurrection? Well, someone is a Picard lover.

  • LMAO, Nooooooooooo! It is wrong, it is wrong, I HATE IT!

  • If they wanted to make this action movie, they should have just called it something else. When I think "Star Trek" I don't think of a movie like that. Should have been just a generic shitty action movie with characters nobody cares about. There, now all the faggots that enjoy shitty CGI "sci-fi action" movies will like it and us Star Trek nerds won't have to go see it, hehe.

  • @CreativeCanberran not at all. Really though, i'm curious as to how spock was "ignorant and punk-like". That statement seems just as uninformed as the people who say the movie is dawson's creek in space. It's like everyone got so used to seeing the TOS crew as completely past retirement age.

  • @Blastaar7 hey there are hardcore fans the just won't except the new movie and cast. I thought the movie was great and sorry if i piss off anyone, Star Trek needed a face lift like the James Bond movies. 40 years from the original to Enterprise series all they did was rehash lot stories. Include they pushed the humanity message o far. Star Trek needed new edge and look to keep it going for another decade or more.

  • @lovejen01 You know one thing the Bond movies never where before the so called face lift. They were never boring. Just like Star Trek was never This Stupid before now. If i want to watch Star Wars 90210. I'd watch Star Wars or Beverly Hills, 90210 (which i wouldn't, stupid teen drama. Kinda like Star Trek IX.)

  • You tell 'em, Jean-Luc!

  • @CreativeCanberran I'd respect an honest statement instead of ridiculous nonsense like "spock is ignorant and punk like" Seeing stuff like that makes me wonder if they even saw the movie.

  • 100% agree with Picard here

  • I love Picard's reaction

  • crap i mean berman not roddenberry

  • What i dont understand ... since it was no problem to run a no-name sci-fi tv series about a spacestation while ds9 was on air ... and now that Rodenberry is no more with paramount ... and Russ and Wang still doing fanfiction movies ... ... why dont they just make one about a ship exploring the galaxy ... i could live without saucer-narcelle-ships and lcars if it would bring trek back to tv ... and who cares if they would call the tricoders just "that scan device" ;)

  • @CreativeCanberran Why can't people just say, "I hate the fact that they rebooted the franchise". Instead we get bullshit like "spoke is ignorant and punk like."

  • @Blastaar7. Because, it’s not a reboot; a reboot is starting from scratch but keeping the spirit & characters intact. STXI did not restart it from scratch. It changed the characters & DID NOT KEEP TO THE SPIRIT OF Trek. Old Spock even tells young Spock (paraphrasing) "Don't worry about the jillion paradoxes, the universe won’t explode”, making it plainly obvious that this is supposed to be the real Kirk and crew, not an alternate universe.

  • @BondFreek This is why so many people are hard pressed to get into star trek. There's a stigma attached with being a fan.

  • @Blastaar7 Stigma's come with being a fan of any of the franchises, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, StarGate, McGyver excreta..., That's why they are called "fans". Fan's really is short for the word "Fanatic", Look it up. A fan is not just someone who likes a TV show, a fan is someone who makes it part of their lives.

  • I seriously down the TNG crew would hate the excellent 2009 star trek. It corrected everything that was sucking about star trek.

  • @Blastaar7 You mean subtlety and intellectual intrigue?

  • @AntiFreeze202 no, I mean sterile ass stories with little to no excitement. Lets be real, the two most popular star trek films were handled in the same way as the '09 movie. High action and adventure with a good story. There was no political assembly where no face character debated issues.

  • @Blastaar7 WRONG!!!! First off what made the story "good"? Second the two most popular star trek films are Star Trek II and Star Trek IV. In ST II Spock and McCoy spend almost 5 minutes of screen time talking about the moral/political issue of the dangers of having the ultimate source of power. As for ST:IV the whole movie was about saving the wails; also it was not high in action. Also first Contact had two morals in the movie. This last one was just plane candy for the eye, nothing more.

  • @BondFreek star trek 4.....more popular than first contact? I won't even respond.

  • @Blastaar7 Sorry you don't believe it but a recent online poll shows that Star Trek IV is still the second most favorite Star Trek movie. Also Star Trek IV still holds the record for most box office tickets sold by a Trek film. Also if you COMPENSATE for INFLATION Star Trek (XI) tide Star Trek 3 for box office sales.

  • It really isn't that bad. But then again I'm not a Trekky nerd so what the hell do I know?

  • A message for the complete spastics who though this film was good --

You'll be glad know there are three other films soon to be released that closely follow the theme of the ST: XI shit-fest:

Star Trek XII: I Know What You Did Last Summer.

    Star Trek XIII: Mean Girls

    Star Trek XIV: 90210

Sure hope you fucking mongs are saving up for those cinema tickets!

  • Oops. 'Though', of course, should be 'thought'.

In defence, I've just watched the first 20 minutes of ST XI -- I guess mong film-makers are almost as efficient as the Borg for assimilating people into their realm.

  • I like it

  • You could have substituted half the Star Trek movies for Star Trek 11.

  • It's like the Mission:Impossible movies. The only thing in common with the original is the title.

  • poor trekies. a lot of people loved the prequels to star wars. too bad the same can't be said about you guys. :P

  • @TheJustincase4 A lot of people loved the prequels to star wars......your fail overwhelmed me, i couldn't read any further.

  • @CreativeCanberran

It honestly sounds like most of the crap Abrams manages to defecate onto the screen. Even Cloverfield, which I liked, was filled with shallow, narcissistic characters that I was actually happy to see killed. Hell, the premise of rewriting the Star Trek timeline could have been an amazing springboard for a new series, IF it hadn't had Michael Bay's overrated counterpart at the helm.

  • Brilliant. :D

  • I liked only the "new" McCoy... And Uhura was... OK.

But Spock, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov and especially!! That young Kirk... No just no. And the new Enterprise doesn´t hold a light to the original.

  • @PenultimateRun why is that? you really think startrek ala 1990's will work in times like now?

  • I thought the movie was ok , but they really messed up the enterprize , It looked like it was melted

  • The new star trek movie did suck, nearly every star trek episode since tos has been awesome, until 09.. tos, tng, voyager and even ds9 kicks that movies ass so very, very hard.

  • Picard: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • lol Picard

    But he's right.

Hollywood is running out of things to reimagine. What's next? Leave It To Beaver, with Lady Gaga as the mother, "The Situation" as Wally, and Snoop Doggy Dog as The Beaver? "Yo, yo, yo, what up gee Wally: My hommies 'n' me think sellin' crack on my paper route would bring us the benjamins, know-I'm-sayin'?"

  • Whaa. So sick of all you that hate the new ST movie. It's been almost 2 years, get over it. It was a blockbuster, get over it. Paramount had killed the franchise with 2 shitty TNG movies and that putrid series "Enterprise". If anything, they should have just brought TNG series back with a new attitude. Look what Ron D Moore did with "BSG". Smart Sci fi with realistic human drama and SFX as good as any movie.

  • What episode of TNG is this footage from?

  • @leewolfgang Not sure which ones...I think the last one where Picard is going off is from the 2 part episode "Unity" which had Nimoy back as Spock. I think Picard was under a mind meld or something.

  • @leewolfgang The clips of them watching the recording are from "Time Squared" from series 2 (they were watching a recording of the D getting destroyed), and the ones of Picard shouting are from series 3's "Sarek".

  • @CreativeCanberran

Yeah but considering it's an alternate timeline Abrams is tweaking, I don't see the damage. It's like that alternate timeline where Reginald Barclay was self-confident and was an eloquent speaker.

  • @mahdogzbite

ever watch star trek? in star trek, alternate timelines erase the originals. that's why starfleet has the temporal prime directive.

but since the universe in this movie was already out of continuity before the timeline changed anyway (800 people on a survey ship? come on) it hardly matters. no part of the movie is any way related to the star trek series in terms of story.

  • @neomp5

In Star Trek the temporal prime directive is followed to protect people from altering their own timelines. It was NEVER said that changing past events destroyed a timeline but rather created a another one. This was best demonstrated in the TNG episode "Parallels" (the episode showing Riker with a fullgrown beard explaining that the Federation has been destroyed by the Borg).

Even Doc Brown explained this in Back to the Future part 2.

That last part was a joke.

  • @mahdogzbite

have you seen "parallels"? it portrays exactly what the title says, parallels, universes whose events run alongside, but never converge with or diverge from, the main one.

but yes, changing past events was ALWAYS shown as causing a change farther down the timestream. when characters are preserved from the change (the landing party in "city on the edge of forever", the enterprise in "first contact", guinan in "yesterday's enterprise") they actually observe the change happening.

  • this is actually what doc brown described. marty began to dissapear in part 1 because his future was being replaced. a change causes a new sequence of events to appear, as the doc describes with his diagramme, though it wasn't to scale. the new sequence becomes the timeline, the old is gone.

  • this is exactly what happens in the film. nero enters the magic planet-destroying-starship-saving rift and arrives earlier in his own timeline. spock enters it LATER, and arrives AFTER nero, but arrives in the altered timeline, because it is the only timeline. if there had been a split, spock would have arrived in his own past, not nero's offshoot.

  • @neomp5 But, then the regular universe would cease to exist, which, according to word of god, is not the case -- otherwise, all novels would stop publishing, pretty much. :B And Star Trek Online would not be possible, all already-present plotholes aside. :B

  • They blew up the planet Vulcan just to have a big explosion *facepalms*

  • IT....IS ...WRONG!!!

  • Hey that's not so much funny as it is completely fucking stupid.

  • This IS hilarious, but i don't think it's necessarily accurate though :)

  • I HATE IT!

  • yeah i like the reaction. though i bring up it time for a new star trek yeah a scifi war flick. though here my case. Ever since Gene died star trek has sucked. voyager last half, movie before this new James one and enterprise is the biggest case Roddenberry had this history written for them and these retard writes try make their own version that sucks were is earth starting the Romulun war. hell were was the more war like people of Kirk time even. Jonathan Archer can't even kill Klingon.

  • @starknight97 "though he[ar] my case"....Ok will do. "Ever since Gene died star trek has sucked" Ok I'm following you so far...." voyager last half, movie before this new James one and enterprise is the biggest case Roddenberry had this history written for them and these retard writes try make their own version that sucks were is earth starting the Romulun war." WTF?!?! .......It honestly took me about 5 tries of reading that run-on sentence before I could make sense of any of it. LMAO!!!

  • @frankensteinmoneymac Yeah can't do much with these 500 limits. lets fix it for you. voyager last half of the sires died off. movie Star Trek Nemesis WTF Remans? Biggest case is Roddenberry had this history written for them and these retard writes. Then they try make their own version that sucks were is earth starting the Romulus war? Earth in his history go too Romulus because it in the Vulcan history. Roms trade clock to Klingons for ships and better warp. earth even nukes Romulus to end it.
