After the truck driver tries to push him into the train you would think at this point he'd say the **** with the appointment and turn around and ski-daddle back to the city...but noooo...
Did anyone notice this? In the roadside animal scene where he's using the phone booth, if you look in the reflection of the phone booth glass, you can see a camera man there shooting the scene.....LOL No Kidding, look at it again.
Why did you skip Part 5, The Cafe Scene ?......best scene in the movie....Downloaded all parts and merged to one movie then find out it's missing.....crap!
Part 4 showed the big trucks front bumper gouging into the trunk or decklid of the little orange car, as the big truck was bumping him -however- I saw no damage in part 5 while looking at the rear of the ugly orange car.... .... c'mon Spielberg....
Boy the scenery in that part of CA is BUTT UGLY!! What a godforsaken place to be. NO WAY am I going there...well yeah I would love to go to visit the spots where the movie was filmed but who would want to live there!!
@ccg1171 And get his azz kicked. That was one of the most entertaining parts of the movie. I didn't read the comments first. We need the "fucking diner scene"!!!!!!!
the guy is lucky that the truck driver could only find the gas petal if he was chasing him on the run. if the truck really wanted to, he would just floor the accelerator and that would be the end of that plymouth
I understand the whole "artistic license" thing......but if the driver WANTED to push him into the train, he would've just done it. That Valiant, whether in reverse, with the parking brake on.......whatever.........wouldn't have stopped that big "Pete" from pushing it like it wasn't even there.
Actually, this is the television version of the film, and NOT the actual theatrical (and DVD) version, the latter of which had the additional scenes of the telephone converse with David Mann's wife, cafe, and school bus scenes, and so that's why this version has none of those scenes, because this version is the TV movie version. ;) Still, I find it quite fascinating to watch this lol
hey rw4x4x3006...i remember those old peterbilts cause neighbor in the 70's used to drive one..we could hear his ass a mile away whenever he came back home
At 2:15 he should have got out and went to the back of the car to see how much damage was done to his cars rear end. Just looking at all the dings and scratches and dents in horror and just going ....fauk! .... fauker!!
Actually, if any cop saw a truck looking like that on the road...after laughing his ass off for a few minutes, he'd have it impounded due to a serious lack of vehicular hygiene.
International Fuel Tax Agreement tags placed on or near the fuel tanks of all commercial trucks, indicating they are registered and paying fuel consumption taxes and fees. Can't buy fuel for the rig without them, and any cop or meter maid would impound the vehicle and fine the driver/carrier a few thousand bucks and suspend his license, toss his ass in jail for a day or two....but this is just a movie, so it's okay this one time.
First chance I got, I would disconnect the service and emergency brake air lines to the trailer, (now the truck can't move), jump up and pull the driver out, beat the livin shit out of him with a pry bar, stuff his ass into the tank, (so he can't get away) and grab his log book...put all kinds of lines through it, and scribble "fuck you DOT" all over it.....oh yeah, also pull the IFTA tags from the cab...no he's truly fucked! Why not? this is a movie......right?
i cant believe somone would put all the scenes of the movie in here but not the diner scene wtf. hey and fyi you can put like 20 minutes of footage on each scene
no diner scene? one of the most tense part was when he was trying to figure out who at the bar was the trucker by the boots they wore, then accused the wrong guy and got his ass kicked.
@toasteroven2001 right- i remember that scene he told the bus driver a truck driver was after him, tried to get kids back on the bus, then the TRUCK helped the bus get unstuck-kinda funny
How did his car get pushed around the crossing gate instead of being pushed through it. The gate goes all the way across his side of the road it looked like he was on the wrong side of the road when he stopped for the train.
I Have tonnes of suspician on the truck but what about the train? its always that train driving near the road and somehow the driver speeds up to get infront of the car then the truck magicly appears behind dennis. If you ask me the train was in on the attack because later the truck beeps his horn at the very same train showed here and he beeps back like the truck wanted to don this again. that mean 2 people to arrest!hehe.
I love the way, after the train passes and the truck drives off; the train blows it's horn and the truck blows it's horn in response - as if they're talking, or laughing, together. Like the train and the truck are kindred spirits: a typical Spielberg touch - I doubt that it was coincidence
I rather liked that moment myself. I believe the two were giving a sort of salute to one another. They are comrades in a way- both the 18-wheeler and the freight train are crewed by tough, hard working men who are on the road/rails for long hours moving massive amounts of cargo, and apparently even a deranged truck driver still recognizes his camaraderie with the train crew. Your remark on that scene was quite interesting, by the way.
Yeah he could go and fetch that arsehole a crack but have you seen the muscles on the truck drivers arm? The truck driver would simply have to get out pick him up and throw him infront of the train! :-I
...or it got edited right before uploading because they were afraid the Thought Police..err, Copyright Police were going to bonk it. :P Nevermind that they would have bonked it already, anyway..

Well the truck driver was waiting for him later on but by the time he turned back had the guy gone back after Chuck's Cafe, he would of been back in the city before the truck driver would have caught up with him.
You just skipped one of the best sequences in the movie! Dennis goes into the cafe where the truck driver is in and tries to guess which one of the customers is the driver.
He probably has to go in that direction for his job, the problem in those barren desert areas is that that might be the only way by road to reach his destination LOL If I had a choice between Life and Job I would choose life and go in the other direction just like you HAHAHA
actually i would, if some faggot in a rusty, old truck was following and trying to terrorize me, i wouldn't just try to drive off, when the truck is just sitting there. id get out and take the chance of getting my head blown off. better than being pushed into a train, like a little bitch lol
