Believe it or not the old W8 models (the Red and Yellow ones) were faster than the new silver one in the video, the old model was pure American with a twin turbo 383 Chevy motor producing 635hp, the transmission was also from Chevy, a three speed automatic, while the new W8 model had a 5.7l engine producing 492hp from a Lamborghini Diablo. I know this because when the very first W8s came out I was in high school and a big fan of those supercars

These cars were loved and admired in the late 80's and early 90's so the haters on youtube mean nothing. The ones that tend to hate are mostly kids or people who know little about the car. Even the legendary Countach is hated by many. But any Vector driving down the road would turn almost any head. Its a very unique and gaudy design that fit well in its time for what it was.

Vector had hearth but never really made a succesfull brand. I think the cars are stunning, specielly thinking it what a 15-20 year old design? the car was suspected to be around 250+ with the completed engine, BUT they never actually turned it into a mass production car so the engine went uncompleted. so it actually for the wx-3 holds 650+hp. when it wasupposed to hold bout 1200hp at speeds enought o possibly hold the fastest production car title.

They had one yellow M12 in Florida in 2000/2001 based in the famously known Toy Store Auto in Fort Lauderdale. I called them and the price tag was $200,000 and also available for rental as later I seen it on South Beach several times driven by different folks and then presented in Miami Beach along with a matching yellow Diablo :D

Wow you're such a moron, Vector W8 is a legend among US Sportscars, it can match ANY European sportscar and kick the fuck out of its ass. Im a huge fan of Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes but the W8 is a car that wakes up my emotions when it runs, something i don't find in some European sportscars. That "spaceship" is one marvel from the late 80's and early 90's!
must be on my own here but i think it is not nice at all! It has wheels that are too small, tyres that are too high walled, looks of a car from the 80's (countach) and the noise inside means no point in having a stereo, imagine going some distance in that thing, you would be deaf! and the suspension resembles a boat on the ocean! it needs harder suspension, i bet it is crap around a race track, speed is nothing without control but i will give it its due, the sound is nice from the outside :)
sorta looking at the wrong thing there, lambos and ferarris are high maintenance, vector is no maintenance. this car is more like an actual aircraft, with alot of guages and switchs and the what not, soft suspension allows for tighter turns, the design is very areodynamic and thats the reason it lacks the cuves. another reason why it has an $800,000 USD circa 1992 attached to the car, and thats the basic model. The company was too smart, they over did it, that car is a beast.
soft suspension better in corners?..uuuuh..actually that creates more body roll thus reducing cornering abilities..they were not smart at all..these cars were fat pigs with big power and not much more

the car was suspected to be around 250+ with the completed engine, BUT they never actually turned it into a mass production car so the engine went uncompleted. so it actually for the wx-3 holds 650+hp. when it wasupposed to hold bout 1200hp at speeds enought o possibly hold the fastest production car title.

This ghastly machine was insanely flawed and Topgear named it worst car ever made after driving one. The company was shrouded in scandals after high profile customers demanded their money back. They managed to produce a few cars in their attempt to make an american Lambo Diablo copy. The worst thing is that Americans STILL hail this monstrosity to be the ultimate european supercar killer.. hahaha its amazing. IThey even used Lambo Diablo engines until they failed to pay for them.

The W8 was extremely ahead of it's time, it could hit 60 in 4 seconds and it shifted to SECOND at 120mph. You find me another THREE speed car that can do that.

They had one yellow M12 in Florida in 2000/2001 based in the famously known Toy Store Auto in Fort Lauderdale. I called them and the price tag was $200,000 and also available for rental as later I seen it on South Beach several times driven by different folks and then presented in Miami Beach along with a matching yellow Diablo :D

Anyone who bags this car out is crazy, It's an example of the future created in the wrong time. I would have one in a second as I like the idea of a supercar you can service yourself and feel like your in the future, With Euro cars its all about mine is better than yours and they all look the same. People like J.Clarkson need to remember that without America and their abillity to think outside the square they would most likely still be driving around in a Morris Minor! This car is Great!

THE most ridiculous attempt by an American businessman to match the big European names in the supercar industry that ultimately failed miserably. It looked more like a spaceship out of Battlestar Galactica than an exotic sports car. Though it made descent horsepower it was all channeled through a modified three-speed automatic gear box from an Olds. Tornado. What a silly concept, no wonder it failed.

Wow you're such a moron, Vector W8 is a legend among US Sportscars, it can match ANY European sportscar and kick the fuck out of its ass. Im a huge fan of Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes but the W8 is a car that wakes up my emotions when it runs, something i don't find in some European sportscars. That "spaceship" is one marvel from the late 80's and early 90's!

must be on my own here but i think it is not nice at all! It has wheels that are too small, tyres that are too high walled, looks of a car from the 80's (countach) and the noise inside means no point in having a stereo, imagine going some distance in that thing, you would be deaf! and the suspension resembles a boat on the ocean! it needs harder suspension, i bet it is crap around a race track, speed is nothing without control but i will give it its due, the sound is nice from the outside :)

sorta looking at the wrong thing there, lambos and ferarris are high maintenance, vector is no maintenance. this car is more like an actual aircraft, with alot of guages and switchs and the what not, soft suspension allows for tighter turns, the design is very areodynamic and thats the reason it lacks the cuves. another reason why it has an $800,000 USD circa 1992 attached to the car, and thats the basic model. The company was too smart, they over did it, that car is a beast.
