This isn't police brutality, this is civil unrest, something the police are supposed to prevent. And come on, that is not brutality in any sense, they are not "strangling" them, they are putting pressure upwards on the jaw, something unpleasant but not dangerous...
While I can understand many people's response to this video, I don't see that this is an incidence of brutality. The students are protesting illegally, and have been asked to leave. Once they are asked to leave and refuse to do so, they are trespassing. While it looks bad in the video, these officers are simply enforcing the laws that they were sworn to uphold, using the minimum amount of force needed to remove the [unlawful] protestors.

And just to make it clear, I have met a lot of officers from the UCSC Police Department. They are all very humble and respectful individuals whom have a lot of integrity. I filled out transfer applications the second day I was there. While I can understand many people's response to this video, I don't see that this is an incidence of brutality. The students are protesting illegally, and have been asked to leave. Once they are asked to leave and refuse to do so, they are trespassing. While it looks bad in the video, these officers are simply enforcing the laws that they were sworn to uphold, using the minimum amount of force needed to remove the [unlawful] protestors.

what part dont you understand about being on property thats not yours?? how would you like it if a bunch of space cadets were on your property and wouldnt leave after you asked them to..and cops wouldnt do anything because they were afraid of hurting them??

Why are people still commenting on this crap... I've been going to UCSC for 4 years now, the students here have a tendency to make melodramatic statements. There is seriously a protest every other week.

and they had their protest...then were asked to leave...and when youre on property thats not yours thats what you do..if not the cops will make you leave..and dont expect them to use tender loving care..and you talk like a little thugster in training too...but then youre probably proud of that
