It seems to work that if you get a counter hit on his 3rd hit of super you get a st.mk to come out no matter what like everyone says. It seems to be the negative edge of you letting go of the focus attack(since i believe forward out prioritizes strong on button layout, think crouch teching) and you trade so you recover instant. (allowing negative edge) I just tried this in training mode with ibuki, and was actually able to SJC Ultra 2 off of it like normal. Show this as an example desk!

If the third hit of Adon's super hits as a counterhit (which happened after the second hit used up the focus armor, so the third hit counter hit) INSTEAD of hitstun, it forces the startup of the medium kick. Which means that instead of reeling back in pain, the opponent simply does his MK and basically hits Adon out of it, so Cody cancelled that forced MK into the combo you see. Watch closely and you'll see the MK start up instead of hitstun.

If you see, Cody actually loses some health on the second hit, meaning Adon must have somehow hit him twice. But Adon only loses health when hit by the cl.MK (I assume that's what it is, I don't play Cody), so it doesn't appear that there's a trade situation.

So Cody absorbs the first hit, gets hit by the second, causing no hitstun somehow (but how does the Super work normally then?!) and hitting him out of the focus charge animation, then goes into his combo.

So yeah this is pretty confusing.

Okay... Here's my theory:

He Focus Absorbs one hit then Dash Cancels. The first few hits of the super are pretty slow so he has the space.

Throws a Jab (or something) to trade with the Super, knowing HE'D get to follow up.

Painful Combo to finish.

I'm even looking at the life bars and so far, it's the only way that this entire event could make sense to me. Cody has no "gray" damage and you can even see his health dip at the start of the combo so he DID get hit again.

You can do this on any character in training mode. Pick Adon and set the dummy to standing + counter hit ON. If you do the super and the first 2 hits whiff, the third won't hit, but the dummy will do a forward kick counter hit. It's unknown what causes this.

I'm assuming the properties of the hit from adon's super inflicts no hit stun so cody is reset to neutral soon as the hits trade where as adon is in hit stun. So cody is plus enough frames off the trade to get the combo going. That's what I'm seeing at least

Which is even more weird o_0. I guess his first kick counted as a get-hit state and any special move or super done after recovering from a get-hit state counts as a reversal.

So cancelling his kick into Criminal Upper counts as a reversal in this case. Between this and his Alt 1 costume bug Cody's starting to get a bit weird :P.
