@shootingstars124 you probably have the opacity of the brush low when you went into quick mask. This only selects the percentage of the picture and when you copy the layer its transparent.

Orrr...you could use the wand to select the background and her face/shoulders. Then select inverse. Make the tolerance low so it only selects the pixels you want and use the laso to catch any straggler pixels.

new layer, select pink soft brush colour over iris select to soft light/overlay ctrl+u find a colour you're happy with <_<

extra: you can lower opacity :O and it works same with hair (especially with tablet! :D ) plus don't do colour balance, it changes the pupil colour if it has some colour lights going into it :|
