  • @lquert nope, I did it with Softimage XSI and Zbrush.

  • @neok23 ooh ok.. excellent work!

  • is that s student work???!

  • @VanKrixsz101 Yes it is!

  • @VancouverFilmSchool holy shit

  • Bad ass, would love to see them come to life!

  • Hey, this looks amazing. I have been trying to do research on VFS but i am from the UK and doing my A-Levels. I am currently 16, but doing my A-levels, which means i have technically graduated from high school as i have completed my GCSE's last year but i am confused whether this course is another alternative for university? also, is there a posibility of Scholarships due to the fact £30,500 a year is a very high amount. thanks!

  • @Srai9 VFS is a private post-secondary institution, so you can consider us an alternative to university. That means we can offer what those institutions can’t – 3-4 years of education condensed into one year! We occasionally have different scholarships available. Your best bet is to contact one of our Admissions Advisors at vfs(dot)com/startnow and they would be happy to help you with information regarding financial options that might be of interest to you.

  • @VancouverFilmSchool Thankyou so much! one more regard, does this give me a degree or diploma? and will this course help me for job opportunities or further study in the UK afterwards?

  • @Srai9 Our grads will receive a diploma once they complete their program. At VFS you will get a quality education and create your own fantastic demo reel. The skills and tools that you will leave VFS with are what will help prepare you for your future in the industry. Students in the 3D Animation & Visual Effects program create a portfolio of work that will showcase their talent to potential employers.

  • @VancouverFilmSchool hey what's up, I have a question, I'd liek to be in the filmmaking process, but all the film that you show in your adversiments, like Iron Man 2 or so, was people from every program involved or just VISUAL EFFECTS? just like TRON for example, were just people from FX the ones that work in those kind of films or is also people from the film production program involved,,,?

  • @NickRiviera10 Hi! That is a tough question to answer as a fair share of our Film Production grads do choose to go out on their own after as independents. In regards to the 2010 retrospective video you're referring to, that is just a sample of what our grads have worked on during 2010. For TRON specifically, there were grads from the 3D Animation & Visual Effects, Makeup Design AND Film Production involved. Thanks!

  • @VancouverFilmSchool No, thanks for having such a great school I don't know anyother as good as yours!!!!

  • how long does it take just to make one monster thing

  • @KingSongs2010 The student spent around 2 and a half months on each character. He says that the weapon took him another month to create.

  • this is nuts!

  • oh my goodness this is awesome!.

I just saw this school through internet because im seaching for good 3D and VFX schools.

I'm going to be grade 12 next school year so I need to find a school to apply.

Do I need to have a degree to apply here?

I'm planning to get Digital Media in York University if ever I will get in and then go to this school.

  • @rawrforrawrmusic You don't need to have a degree to come to VFS, although you do need to be 19 years or older, or have graduated from High School. Check out vfs(dot)com/requirements for the full program requirements. Thanks!

  • My computer would get a serious damage if I try to render that.

  • I dream of going to this school, the amazing things that come out of this school is just beautiful. the international fees is the reason i only hope to go.

I use maya but theres not much i can do here in australia to get information of how to learn maya. good job though :)

  • @pezthegreendragon Thanks for your kind words. If we can help with any information please do let us know!

  • @VancouverFilmSchool are there scholarships available to Australians? I was planning to goto Gonomon in CA next year to study. But after looking at some of the your students work I am just in awe.

Im currently 3/4 way through a diploma in vfx at a community college.

  • @noobdles Thanks for getting in touch! We would definitely recommend you speak to one of our Admissions Advisors, who can walk you through all the financial options available. Fill in the form at: vfs(dot)com/startnow and someone will be in touch! Good luck with the rest of your studies until then!

  • I think the most impressive part of this reel was the dirt and sweat stains on Liz. I've rarely seen that kind of detail on a model and seeing it was really amazing. It completely blew me away!

  • amazing work/ nice style/

  • awesome work! i love the texture detail.. plus the topology of the models are neat! :)

  • great work!!! love te smoke to in the turntable. never seen that before in a modeling reel. howlong did you work on it?

critics: the girls skin has some faceting

are they teaching animation to at vfs?

would love to see a animation!

  • @dennisvolkerts VFS’s one-year 3D Animation & Visual Effects program allows students to learn all aspects of 3D Animation and then specialize in one of three areas: 3D Animation, Modeling, or Visual Effects. Maximilian-Gordon specialized in Modeling. Find out more at vfs(dot)com/3D

  • Can i build something like that with 3dmax?

  • @Melcland i think that'd be possible but really hard i use blender and thought the same thing and i think after the basic model is made they prob use something like zbrush which is a great program from hat i hear

  • This is amazing, very well done. how long untl you guys do i movie?

  • esta bien padre

  • talk about armed to the teeth....

  • Aha thank you for the info, but lets say i want to come and learn some stuff at VFS, how much will the overall cost be :?

Im from Bulgaria if that changes something ...

  • @thewaysh

Hi, you can find tuition costs, program description and next available start dates on the vfs website. Check under "admissions" and then under "international students".

  • @thewaysh Check out vfs(dot)com/admissions for information on tuition costs, start dates, and more.

  • This is awesome, especially the texturing. Most importantly, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wants to know; just how long did making them from scratch take?

  • @Minamiblues Max created his modeling reel (including the design process) over a six month period: 2.5 months for each character and one month for the weapons.

  • pro

  • Best VFS modeling reel I've ever seen, great work Max!

  • QUE CURRAZO, IMPRESIONANTE!!

  • ProfessorMacintosh then looked on VFS-channel and found wepon.

    Really great!

  • the modeling reel is amazing !! :)

  • Nice work!

  • I like the humanness to the eyes on the big creature. Also, nice touch with the heat distortion on the BFG. Although, there really is no end to the nice touches here. Really mind blowing stuff.

  • By far the best thing i have ever seen on youtube. I cant seem to stop watching this over and over. SO much detail in every thing he did. 100/10 >,..,<

  • interesting shoes she have.

  • anybody else notice the "mud" stains around her butt? hahahaha, seriously though great models and surfacing

  • But can she make sammiches?

  • @voyeurdug i second that one buddy

  • if this was gonna be a game... WIN!!!

  • Fantastic modelling, I'd love to know how long it took to create those.

  • Wow. Simple perfection. #FTW

  • I'd like to see both in action! Make this into a freaking movie already! I'd pay any price to see that shit!

  • EPIC!!

  • I would love to see someone try to animate this, shit would take forever

  • @Reijerkolle The animation wouldn't be so bad in a production pipeline where you'd be using a low-res proxy to animate anyway. Final rendering on the other hand... yikes.

  • I'd love to see hunter in action

  • 3rd place?? oh come on!! does it get better than this?

  • Really well made... especially the Hunter... that was friggin awesome liked and faved.

  • i saw this is a forum before.. nice models thoh

  • liz has got a nice ass.. lol xd

  • Just one word: AWESOME!

  • I liked LIZ hair in the wire/gray part. The finished result looked all fluffy.

  • Nice!

  • Hunter is amazing, inspirated me to make same more models in Blender :D

  • Holy SHIT the hunter was insane! Immense, keep it up :D

  • Wow!!

  • Wow nice job!

  • I can say you have successfully made Liz hot :X

  • Great

  • and the music is from...??????????????????

  • @routhoula The music for this piece was provided by VFS partner 5 Alarm Music. Check them out at 5alarmmusic(dot)com.

  • @VancouverFilmSchool gee thanks!!! it would take forever to find out if you didn't tell me!

  • damn dude! nice reel!

  • thats awesome!
