@TheMosesProductions So glad you are going to start collecting. I'm not sure what all your styles of music are, but if you have a pretty diverste taste one of the best things aobut starting a collection is that the dollar bins and goodwills can be goldmines! You can get tons of records for a buck or less a piece. I have raided dollars bins to bulid a huge portion of my collection. As you start to get stuff please post vidoes of what you get.
dude I'm a HUGE Lenny fan! I don't own any of his stuff on vinyl, yet. But I'm trying to track down the "Lenny" album on vinyl, seems real rare. I've really liked that one of his, and it took me some years to like it. It's his total glam rock album, once I realized that, I enjoyed it.
@babylonseeker Yeah, "Lenny" is a great album. I found a copy on vinyl on gemm.com. It was like 25 dollars. Very nice 2 lp set. Check that out, you may find one there.
Cool VH collection !! I'm still looking for Balance on vinyl. I agree the Hagar era of VH was more musical. They wrote some great songs during that time.
@SalamiKing7 If you mean albums in general I would say his Smash Hits. That kind of give you most of your core Hendrix right there. If you mean studio/released albums I would say (in this order) Band Of Gypses, Electric Ladyland, Live At Monteray, and Are You Experienced. If you have those albums you have a very strong core of Jimi Hendrix's greatness
Love the Hendrix records man! I need to get some more very soon. I have two copies of Killer by Alice Cooper but sadly both covers are pretty rough. Man the guitar work in Voodoo Child amazes me too! I don't care what anyone says, but Hendrix is the greatest guitarist of all time! Take care bro
Great videos, man. Do you bring a portable record player with you when you're out digging for records? If so, what do you use? I apologize in advance if you've answered this in a previous post.
@tsgraham75 Nope. lol I don't have one. I am always at the mercy of the store having one as far as buying stuff I don't know. Luckly it seems that very few store don't have listening stations these days. Thanks for watching!
@remludj To me they both sounded freakn' awesome! lol I think Roth was more Party Rock and Haggar was was more tied in with strong melody and "music".
Your videos are always fascinating to me, I've been collecting a year and seeing what you have just makes me look forward to what I might find next time I go shopping ha. If you don't mind could you show any nirvana stuff you have and maybe some grunge stuff in general. No worries if you don't have the time, I'm sure what ever you put up will be awesome. Thanks dude
Personally, I don't agree that these finds like Tammy are "cheesy and sound bad." There is A LOT of good music across all genres and from all time periods.
@MARINE1146 I hear ya! I guess to me the word "cheesy" doesn't carry a negative context to it so I don't mind using the word with a lot of the music I like lol. Thanks so much for watching!
Nice stuff as always. I think Killer and Billion Dollar Babies are my favorite AC's. You are probably already aware but when you're ready to upgrade your Killer cover, try to get one with the attached calendar with a picture of AC hanging from a noose! It was attached to the record cover with a perforated edge so naturally, most copies don't have it or it has come unattached.
@stewie100 The great thing about getting started though is that it is all open! I mean you can go in and raid dollar bins and find TONS of stuff when you first start collecting.20 bucks and you come home with 20 records lol. It will be scary how fast your collection will build lol....and make sure you share it with us as it does lol.
@jbonefilms Indeed. Wish we could have gotten more from him. At the same time, part of the beauty of Jimi is that he is gone. Kind of a bitter sweet thing I guess. Thanks for watching!
yep! just got electric ladyland this week on vinyl .reissue.180 gram and i wondered the same thing,"where is jimi going with this".spot on.spot freakin on......so great!we are brothers, i swear i thought the same thing.-gary/texas
@elbosausage I know man. How can you not think that about Jimi lol? I have always said that artist like Jimi and Bob Marley are all the proof anyone needs that there is a God. No mortal men could go where there two could go. There HAS to be a spiritual world beyond us because they showed it to us over and over and over lol.
@mrhoffame yes! hendrix ---clapping for mr buddy miles, im clapping louder than i am at the sf vs nola game right now!you continue to amaze me!-gary/texas
I love Lenny's first album. It is actually my favorite from him. I played it to death when it was released. Did you get a numbers Valleys of Neptune copy Brandon? If you got it right whn it came out it could be numbered 1 to 5000. That photo from the Hendrix soundtrack that you dig used to be a huge poster. I remember seeing that in record shops some time ago. I wish I had one to send you. I agree, it is the perfect Hendrix shot.
@mrhoffame i came across billion dollar babies today for 3.99 but the cover was so beat up, i had to pass it by.Is that his best album?great video!-gary/texas
@elbosausage It's hard to say for me if that is his best album because I don't tend to like AC's music as a whole. I find so much mediocar (sp) and then just throughout their career there are this songs that are Fantastic! lol. I would have to say BDBabies is one of the most classic AC albums for sure.
