Graf and Seles fans need to get out of their time warp. They are the past and the game has moved on . Serena does virtually everything better than both. Atleast Graf fans can point to her titles (inflated by her mostly weak ass competition including her historic Grand Slam against grandma Chris and Martina and flakey underachiever Sabatini) but Seles fans cant even do that, just a bunch of would have, could have, fantasies.

@jmfeeney1 I totally agree...Serena is a great player but look at the joke of women's tennis...you have 3 players (Wozniacki, Jankovic, Safina...number with no GS). This never ever ever happened in the past....now what was that comment from Serenakickass (should read Serenawatchout forthebrokenglassonthefloor)..­..Put Navratilova on the grass courts that were fast in the 80s and she would teach Serena a thing or two about grass court tennis....and 1992 Seles would thrash Serena on clay.

@100BABOLAT Thanks man, finally someone w/a brain :) If you read the comments I was just trying to make a very simple point, but some ppl just don't get it. Serena always relied on her pure athleticism to win matches, that's why she & her sister are injured all of the time, because they're lazy, & they have poor technique, but they are, however, prob the best pure athletes tennis has ever seen. Put Seles in her prime w/her lazer consistency/power/angles against ball sprayer Serena, who wins??

Clearly MJ played well based on the editing of this match but Seles REALLY was (at this early point in her career) she was in a virtual class all her own....which in retropspect makes her stabbing one of the ultimate tragedies in sport since we were deprived (along with Monica) of her journey in discovering what her absolute best might have been when she was at the peak of her career and the peak of her physical abilities. Graf was good, very good but Seles WOULD have been the Federer of her day

@chrissen1 Mary Joe playing good is still easy for all the big guns to beat. Other than a fluke win over a 15 year old Seles she has never beaten Graf, Navratilova, Evert, Seles, or Hingis, even though she got the benfit of playing Evert and Martina well into their 30s. She is a glorified journeywomen who was continually overhyped by the U.S tennis media and is now undeservedly holding posts with ESPN (where she is awful) and as Fed Cup captain where she also is doing terrible.

@serenakicksass And to further hammer the point home, the Williamses do not return as consistently either, sorry, but they don't. Overall they're lazy, inconsistent players who are phenomenal athletes. They hit harder, but spray huge amts. of errors. I'm not denying their great players, but seriously, I have tapes of a s-load of Seles matches from '90-'93, and she was an awesome player. Obviously never a great athlete, but still moved around the court just fine, and was a great anticipator.

Wow thanks for uploading, I'm loving all your highlights. I'm only 24 so I never got to see the early Seles matches, just the ones after the stabbing. The rivalries she had with Graf, Sabatini, Capriati, Sanchez, etc. are so fun to watch. Its amazing to see how much more Seles rallied as a youngster, she knew she could hang in there physically so she waited for the perfect opportunity to blast a winner, great to see.

@JamieOwen03 That's awesome, i've been a huge tennis fan since i was 8, and watchin her 95 US Open final with Graf is really where it all started. You should try to find the '92 French and '93 Australian semis she had with Sabatini, would love to see those! Its awesome to see all these old matches and realize how great women's tennis was back then

@tennisguy467564 Yeah, I'm 31 & a few yrs ago started collecting old Seles matches, between '90-'93, her prime pre-stabbing years. I even have a match she played in '93 Hamburg against Tarabini, b4 the stabbing match I think? Anyway, her career truly was split in 2 halves, anyone who watches tape of her pre/post stabbing can't possibly deny that. Her shots were laser-like, so consistent, so hard, yet hardly any errors. Btw, a must have match is the '91 semi between Seles/Capriati, awesome.

@jmfeeney1 I completely agree, she was such a unique player, so many different grips, and such a shot selection. She was more talented than the flat out power players of today. And I have seen the '91 US Open semi between them, such an awesome match, she was so fierce in her matches.

@tennisguy467564 Yes, couldn't have said it better myself--unique. I don't think enough people remember how different she truly was. She really could twist & contort her wrists in such a way to hit any angle/shot. One minute her backhand looked textbook, the next it was contorted to give her the best shot. She had style, she wasn't boring like so many of today's robots. Even her grunt-it actually meant something when she hit the ball, it wasn't just an afterthought like today's players use it.

@timtim745tim oh get over your delusions. Seles was never going to be the best ever with or without the stabbing, no matter what her crazy fans want to think. She missed only 2.5 years of a 14 year pro career (by choice) and since she won 9 slams in her 11 or so other years playing tennis she might have missed out on 2 additional slams at best. Graf isnt the greatest ever either, she is simply the greatest of an era devoid of powerhouses like the Williams who destroy both Graf and Sees.

@serenakicksass People need to stop comparing players from different eras. As far as I'm concerned, tennis now is a different sport than 20 years ago because the equipment used is so much better. A player had to be exceptional to have extreme power and accuracy with the rackets back then, which is something Seles and Graf had. Nowadays its so much easier to generate the power that the players have today. I'm not denying Serena and Venus' dominance, they are two of the best players in my mind

@serenakicksass But to say that the careers of the likes of Seles and Graf don't even come close to Serena and Venus' is ridiculous. Its a shame Seles' career was changed cause of the stabbing; in my mind I think she had 6-10 more slams in her between 93-96, but wouldn't have been soo dominant after that because Hingis, Davenport, the Williams' and more power players came on the scene. Graf beat both Williams sisters, and a fit Seles would have won her fair share of matches too

The Williams serve far harder and better, return just as well, hit much harder off the ground, move light years better. As for Seles winning 6-10 more slams without the stabbing, ROTFL!!!! Keep dreaming buddy. Graf is better than Seles but she is not as good as the Williams tennis wise either regardless of titles. The Williams played Graf even in 1999 and they were babies then.

Sorry, but the Williamses rely on their athletic ability-they're nowhere near as consistent as either Graf or Seles, and a prime Seles might've still lost to a prime Serena, but it would've been a lot closer than it turned out to be, w/a 40 lb o/w Seles barely able to move. And come on, Seles was on course to win a s-load more gs titles, who was gonna stop her besides Graf?

In additional to Monica's talent and mental toughness, her sportsmanship is great. Monica and her father always applauded to her opponent who made some good shots. So nice!
