  • Soldier had some sick Woodland MARPAT Camouflage on.

  • To bad Cold Steel is to worried about money to make their knives in the USA.

  • @eers2ya It's not that simple - We have spent many many thousands of dollars and many years trying to make our products in the USA. If there any way to make them here in the future I'm sure we would do our best to make it happen. In the meantime, our quality control tests are the toughest in the industry and our products reputation for strength, sharpness and reliability is something we are incredibly proud of.

  • @eers2ya Just because they aren't made in the "good o USA" doesn't mean they are not efficient. Plenty of other countries can produce produces quite better. As shown here.

  • Ya gotta love tearing into a steel car hood and slicing hangin meat for the BBQ...what a job!

  • What is unique about the tanto blade design? (I mean: concerning functionality).

  • @05you2 Our version of the Tanto design has a very sturdy tip and a very acute secondary point which allows for very fast and very devastating snap cuts. Not all tantos are the same

  • @csknives i had a recon 1 gen 2 tanto and my tip broke off. could sharpening the blade make the steel at the tip weaken that much?

  • @GunShotWound308 Hi. I'm sorry to hear that. Please contact our customer services team - they will be able to help you. Thanks

  • @csknives whoa no no no i love my recon 1 and i just had a question. i think that the tip missing adds character to the knife and pain to the bad guy so i dont want a refund or a new knife i just had a question yall lol. anyway keep up the great work and tell Demko to keep designing kick ass blades.

  • @GunShotWound308 LOL OK...whatever works for you my friend. As long as you are happy :) I'll be speaking to Lynn and Andrew today so I'll pass on the message. Have a great day

  • I have that good knife

  • 1:27 Holy shit why does he keep cutting towards himself?!

  • That's tough!

  • @SUP3RZ0MB1E also known as Duct Tape, 100mph tape....its the silver wide tape that fixes anything......LOL

  • Yea I did that to my Ex's car hood, It works GREAT!!! hahahahahah

  • Only thing is that the meat is smooth and flabby, they should try cutting it with the hide of the animal on it.

  • @kabangj We also field test our knives extensively when hunting but I think that footage is too graphic.

  • @csknives Nope. Post it brother, make it 18+ if you have to.

  • @ToothpickMcBrainy We made the decision not to show our field tests.

  • @csknives Alright, didn't mean to sound so pushy in that other post, my apologies.

Do you have an estimate on when we'll see videos on the 2012 products? Dat Cutlass Machete.

  • @ToothpickMcBrainy I don't know the answer to that yet. Keep checking our site for updates. Thanks

  • i used to think that a knife going through a car hood was the ultimate test until i shot one with a 22lr and it went through the car hood like paper. but still cold steel knives are tried and true and you cant beat the gi tanto.

  • cold steel should make steak, but better cuts than the ones in this video

  • Cold steel should make a polypropylene Bo staff or bow and arrow.

  • just got one for my mate in afgan

  • Can people seriously buy stuff like this for $15? Damn, America.

  • @himynameispuky more like 50-70 $

  • I thought the hair on this guys arm would all be gone by now.

  • Somebody PLEASE teach the bearded guy how to do test cutting. If nothing else, tell him to keep the leg on the side he is cutting towards BACK so he doesn't put himself in the hospital.

  • its a flak vest, without the plates, its like stabbing a bullet proof vest, of course its gonna go through.

  • y'know, i don't think that man's a butcher at all

  • thats what chuck norris used to cut his way out of his mother...

  • 2:51 oh my gosh its that knife guy from wanted!!!

  • Haven't you ever considered the ethics of producing items specifically designed for killing people?

  • @givemericht

Ever heard of self defense you hippie?

  • @ParallelDynasty My main method of defense is to pull down my trousers and smile invitingly. Man nor Woman can never resist the urge to run away.

  • @givemericht

No wonder, why would anyone run from something so small that it could never be construed as intimidating or threatening?

  • @ParallelDynasty The warts I have are bigger than the appendage itself.

  • @givemericht

Being a loser isn't always easy, when in doubt talk about your genetalia over the internet.

  • @ParallelDynasty You are so cool, I wish I could be you.

  • @givemericht

    I'm sure you probably do.

  • mini samurai sword

  • what are you cutting at 1:32 ? my speaker is not that good,

  • @carlyle0229 It's an army sleeping bag.

  • @MrMrspy1 its an army sleeping/PT mat

  • Noz je preskup firma jeste ok. ali ima manje poznatih firmi a isto tako dobrih nozeva.

  • "heres a US army flak vest", so if you want to shank a us soldier, this is the weapon for you!

  • 2:05 Umm should our boys be worried? Its a FLACK jacket, its meant to stop grenade shrapnel and that nice went through with little resistance... Yikes

  • @SocialNetworkWhore No. A knife, especially this knife, is designed to glide between fibers. You can stab a knife through most kevlar vests. Energetically, a stab with a knife is very different from a piece of shrapnel hitting something, because the knife has a lot more power (the weight and impulse of the arm adds up to the weight of the blade) concentrated on a much smaller point (show me a CS Recon Tanto- shaped piece of shrapnel).

  • now im hungry

  • This is awesome, I was looking for a knife that would help me climb up slatted wood plank walls.

  • These videos are only made funny by the stubby guy.

  • Fuck the knife, I want to see that big guy eat the raw meat he just cut!

  • dear cold steel, im gonna buy a tanto knive because it will help me save my money from buying razors.

  • The tanto used to be a sidearm for samurai. I have feeling after seeing this, not alot people are gonna miss it.

  • ha ha ha i like how they take the metal plates out of the flack vest!

  • i found my shaver

  • its pretty good but can it penetrate duck tape

  • @MeZombieSlayer1 What the fuck is duck tape?

  • im scared of fat people now

  • So if i want to climb a wall shave a military man and the stab my way through his car and his flak jacket i need this knife. But seriusly im going to buy this knife

  • a new way to shave your arm

  • id like to see the big guy that cuts the meat stand on these knives

  • great to know it can go through a car hood. Now i will be able to kill my victims when they are in the driver seat and i am on the roof. Ill take my cold steel blade and penetrate right through the roof and into the bitches skull!!

  • @Ar15snhappy

LOL. Don't think it won't happen. Years ago I put my carbon V- Recon through the roof of my caddy 5x's and almost stuck my friend in the melon. It sticks through about 6"s. We laugh about it now, but the realization of what could've been...But fuck yeah, it goes through steel like butter...As far as razor sharp, when you buy them you CAN literally shave w/it. After sticking steel they're still sharp but you aint shaving no more unless u want a few holes.

  • flak vests are to protect flak dumb ass not knives

  • what are the differences between the AUS 8 and the carbon V version? i just bought one AUS 8 on amazon and i really want to know.. please answer !

  • is there a sheath for this

  • The next time I engage in "Hand-to-Car Combat" I will have the advantage !

  • flak vests arent made to protect against knifes -.-

  • @Bjo15 Lul, sadly Flak ones ain't even for bullets XD But still kinda influences the. . . Duller side who think " Hey, i could kill a military soldier with this if i wanted! " ( only got that idea b/c of my brother XD )

  • 2:55 .......epic face./pic These videos are so entertaining. I'd buy one of these knife's too but I don't think I'm going to be cutting through car hoods or cutting up ribs hanging from a rope 5 feet off the ground anytime soon :P

  • i would like it but to big for legal carry in my state. but down the road when I move on maybe i'll get it.

  • i would like to see cold steel make a japanese katana in the san mai III steel with the kraton handle. a kind of modern synthetic japanese sword. i think it would sell.

  • Do you havea barbeque after filming these videos?

  • People, have some respect for the owner of CS. He is big knive collector and he never sad some bad words about other knives!

  • i think cold steel doesnt like ropes and meat :)

  • nothing better than seeing fat middle-aged men act tough

  • @skoz14 acting tough? I know the guy in the video and any time you think you're tougher, just call up Cold Steel and ask for a match-up. It's easy to talk smack on the internet. Let's see if you follow through on this. Better yet, challenge him to a knife fight!!!! Better bring someone to call the ambulance for you, because all the CS guys will be doing is pointing and laughing at you.

  • @BigSkippy1263 so you dont think the look on their face is hillarious after they slice meat???

  • @skoz14 LMAO!!! Okay, okay, ya got me there!!!!

But it is fun! I've done this with my Cold Steel stuff and ya gotta admit, it's nice to know what it feels like to cut something most akin to human flesh! Plus, you get to bbq when you're done!!!!

  • makes me wanna go out and stab cars.

  • For all of you asking if the vest is bulletproof... No. Nothing is bulletproof, only bullet resistant. And secondly a bullet isn't a razor sharp tanto tip (think about that one for a few; duh)... Also flak jackets and Kevlar are quite different. One is for bullets specifically, the other for, well, flak. I think you can figure out the difference.

  • @froliciouspanda seriously you would think they would pronounce tanto correctly... Haha.

  • @jebwatson i think its one of those words that has been americanized so much that its considered correct pronounced both ways, kinda like Porsche. gives snobs and jackasses and snobbish jackasses another word to correct peoples pronunciation. and besides, if you pronounce it Tonto, i start looking around for the Lone Ranger ;)

  • when will they say tanto correctly

  • my carbon v version came out of the box rather dull couldn't shave hair. I got the aus8 version hoping it would come razer sharp but it was also a let down. How come this seems to be the only knife from cs that doesn't come sharp?

  • bah newer models are also made of cheap AUS 8 steel... comparable to GIN 1 steel at best... ah the good old days they made their knives of Carbon V steek like my old SRK... ah well time to move to a new provider that dont shame their ancestors with cheap crap :I

  • What kind of research is Cold Steel doing to maintain dominance in the market for cutting tools? Is Cold Steel developing better metals for their blades? Do they plan on expanding into the market for laser cutting tools? Will surgeons, drills, astronauts one day cut with Cold Steel tools?

  • i wanna see a bloopers reel of this where they injure themselves :D

  • not innovative but VERY very well made

  • What a kick ass job lol. I got the tanto with the hidden push blade, caltrops, and throwing spikes

  • Courier just delivered mine. Can't wait to put it to work.

  • seems like the srk is better

  • get those pesky ropes!

If I buy a knife I am not going to slam it into car doors?

  • they need to make this in san mai...

  • If you like to cut rope, pencils, zip ties, nylon straps, padding, copper tubing, hair, flak vests, wood underneath flak vests, cars, meet on a hook, and listen to bad rock music while hating your life. Then get this knife.

  • TAHNTOE for fucks sake. That's how it's pronounced, idiot.

  • This video was made using the Carbon V version and yet it is still on your website being used to demonstrate the AUS-8A version. I don't think that is fair for your costumers for you to use the same video. AUS-8A does not have the same physical properties high carbon steel has.

I'd love to see what would happen if you shot all this while using the stainless steel version.

  • @k0smokratoras

I whole-heartedly agree. I have seen a friend of mine damage his AUS-8 blade cutting cardboard. I can understand dulling it, DUH, edges will get dull over use. But to feel the burr, is ridiculous.

  • @k0smokratoras same results

  • this is a great product. last night a guy threathened me with a knife out came my tanto and i chopped a plastic dusbin in half . the guy got so scared he ran

  • Can the AUS8A version perform as well as the Carbon V? i.e. can you do this video over again with the AUS8A version?

  • @Templarium Why would you want that stainles crap? It won't stay sharp.

  • Comment removed

  • Sweet blade looks like he halked it of a sword

  • ive been an avid knife collector almost my entire life. I found my first knife at the age of seven and im going on 34. I actually have a "knife budget" I own somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 or so top shelf knives. This is a darn good knife I got it at a pawn shop. Cold Steel knives are awsome indeed and am truley a lifetime fan.

  • lol @ 2:55 hard man face e-honda

  • i wanna see the sog primative jungle knife vs cold steel knife iwanna a sharpness review!!!! man they make great knifes

  • i broke my SOG mini pentagon just by stabing it into a tree, should have know, the blade was flexable as hell

  • that is one bad ass knife!

  • A Tanto and a broadhead arrow will go through kevlar like a hot knife through butter

  • is that vest bulletproof or not?

  • Flak vests are Nylon. I doubt this or many other knives can penetrate Kevlar.

  • oh ok. thank you for the information (:

  • Yes it will easily penetrate Kevlar vests as well

  • you guys SHOULD MAKE MORE TACTICAL KNIFE PARTIAL SERATED AND STRAIGHT EDEG OR AND ALL STRAIGHT EDGE BLACK knife for SUPER CHEAP. CALL IT THE ECON KNIFE LOL THE ZOMBIE KILLER. MAN dope KNIFES

  • lofuckingl good shit.

  • Kevlar is made for bullets, not knives. It'd be tough, but knives can definately penetrate kevlar.

  • @mindfreakpro kevlar is JUST made for bullets. but your second comment is true.

  • think its just a safey vest

  • I own this knife - one of the best i have. In Bulgaria i've bought it for about 95$ - good price for its quality. If Cold Steel give me as a present one more i also will stab some cars ;) :) :)

  • Remind me not to park next to you. :)

  • :) ;) Don't worry, the possibility Cold Steel to make me a present is close to zero :) :) :D

  • that guy uniforme makes all the diferece. cut toilet paper too!

  • CS Knives are great products but I don't see the point of their video demonstrations. Any knife will cut the items they show in these vids. I still own a number of CS knives and they are awesome. Don't buy directly from the CS catolog. You can get these knives at half price from other sources.

  • @Eurotrash4367 That's definitely not true. I'm poor, so I always buy cheap knives, and I know that no cheap knife is gonna do these kind of things.

  • @STFUNOWlol

So your telling me that a "cheap" tanto won't cut nylon straps or sharpen a pencil?

  • @Eurotrash4367 The cheap tanto I had wouldn't do much. It could function as a basic knife, but I sure wasn't slicing crap in half or anything.

  • @Eurotrash4367 Well the thing is that they wanted to show how they can cut all that, and still be sharp ( hence the hair cutting ) But b/c of how commercials are ran, for all we know they COULD'VE sharpened the knife after EVERY CUT, although i've used ( sadly don't own ) a Tanto style knife and those things are AMAZING! Thankfully you're right when you said you can buy them cheaper at other places, b/c name brand is EXPENSIVE

  • @Eurotrash4367 thats what i think haha they just cut stuff lol

  • @Eurotrash4367 I wonder if that advice is true for the U.K...

  • @Cleric775

There are several online cutlery sources that will ship internationally. Check the forums for the best deals on the models you are looking for.

  • @Eurotrash4367 it's to show they arn't shitting you ;)

  • @Eurotrash4367

You're suggesting that it's cheaper not to order from the manufacturer? The only scenario I could see that being true in would be if CS had a surplus of something and needed to move inventory, so they sell their items at a major discount to a bulk buyer who turns around and sells them cheaper than you can get from the catalog.

  • is the hood u stabb through steel or aluminum

  • It's a regular o' car hood you see on everyone's cars.

  • @csknives lol theres steel aluminium plastic .. carbon and even wood made cars -.-

  • @csknives those can be either steel or aluminum

  • @thekrazyredhead steel

  • Goddammit. i'm obsessed with this knife for some reason. ive probably watched this vid 50 times. im going to apply at Target tommorow (I'm 17) just so i can buy this knife and more CS knives.

  • they sell knives at Target? I mean, nice knives?

  • Very nice, but $120 bucks, kinda pricey

  • got it for $50 bucks today at a local knife shop...look around you'll find it cheaper than that:)AWSOME KNIFE!!!

  • I respect and appreciate Cold Steel knives, good tools at great prices...I own about a dozen so far. I carry a CS kukri machete on my pack, as a woods tool. At $13, I've gotten far more than my money's worth. I bring along a mill file to sharpen it, and it has served me well...from splitting wood, to cutting rope, a great performer!....Also comforting to know it's there as last-ditch "bear medicine".

  • I love cold steel but I wish they would pronounce tanto the correct way. The "a" actually sounds like "ah" so it should sound like 'tahn-toe'.

  • I think you're right. They should know how to pronounce the item that they popularized in the first place. That tanto shape, that is. That guy at the start of most of the videos sounds a bit like a robot...

  • lol, don't be hating on that guy, he is a really cool guy actually... Also, yes you guys are correct about the pronunciation, bad habits I suppose.

  • Its become common place to pronounce it as in the video ..guess they don't want to offend the Lone Ranger's Buddy ;)
