Black people and black women are constantly excluded from many aspects of life so yes I do believe it is an automatic response for black women to ask "where are the sista's?" JD, I think the backlash you've gotten about posting white women is because It's common in our community to consider a dark skin women ugly, why light skin women are considered beautiful simply because they have light skin no matter how unattractive they may be. Even if light skin is your preference find beauty in everyone. I have dark skin, and my brothers have told me that they don't like dark woman. And while it did hurt me, I never let them see it, I felt it was their loss. They'll be the ones losing out on good women because they discriminate their own.

My mother ( a black woman) has only dated white men since she and my father (a black man) divorced when I was younger. To me, black women need to step outside the 'black man boundaries' and date outside our race, then I think they won't care as much about black men talking about attractive white women, cause we'd be talking about white men.
I think its regional too. Because I am in Seattle and everyone dates everyone here. I'm a black man and I've dated black women, white women, latin women and every mix there probably is. When I am feelin a female I don't think ooo she has to be this way or that way I just know I like her or I don't. These unobtainable things often include a certain type of woman. The mixed heritage, "good hair", green eyed or white woman that didn't give you the time of day when you were broke. She's the opposite of Kisha who's chocolate with short hair, used to braid your hair on the front porch and Jordans on her feet. This is what we hate and why we wonder "where the black women are".

You're right on that but let me tell you why it is a problem. Black women generally have no problem with blak men dating outside our race. It's when you become successful & begin to have a preference of only dating outside your race is when the problem starts. It's a trickle down affect that tells young black women in our culture that they aren't good enough because of their look.
If the black men that you find attractive, that are successful and have something going for themselves, only are seen with other races of women because it's what they now prefer; it does pertain to us as black women. It creates a continuous cycle of light vs dark within our community. It may be hard to believe but it does whether these men acknowledge it or not.

Black people and black women are constantly excluded from many aspects of life so yes I do believe it is an automatic response for black women to ask "where are the sista's?" Women in general are viewed as second class citizens to men and as for black women only the good Lord knows where we fall on that scale. I'm not ripping on black chicks being un-educated, it is just my experience that educated black girls tend to be religious, I am not saying blacks are uneducated at all. Also I am just as riled by whites who don't speak properly as I am blacks, we have a lot of both in London. It just appears to be more prominent among blacks, or I notice it more due to being black myself.

A prejudice is when one actually refuses 2 date a certain type of person even if they're a good match. A prejudice happens when certain people are systematically deemed unworthy n the dating pool...that's what's happened 2 darker-skinned women. Even if light skin is your preference find beauty in everyone. I have dark skin, and my brothers have told me that they don't like dark woman. And while it did hurt me, I never let them see it, I felt it was their loss. They'll be the ones losing out on good women because they discriminate their own.
I don't have a complex because I went to school with Italians, the men love dark black women. Maybe if black men saw this 1st hand they would appreciate us more, as they dont think for themselves.

I think black women respond that way because it's unusual to see a black woman in a relationship with someone other than a black man. BM/WF is very common.
My mother ( a black woman) has only dated white men since she and my father (a black man) divorced when I was younger. To me, black women need to step outside the 'black man boundaries' and date outside our race, then I think they won't care as much about black men talking about attractive white women, cause we'd be talking about white men.

I think its regional too. Because I am in Seattle and everyone dates everyone here. I'm a black man and I've dated black women, white women, latin women and every mix there probably is. I understand that there are men that have been hurt by a black woman but that doesn't mean that one woman should represent an entire race. Not all black women go the artificial route but the ones that do have their reasons. it's before fame. people date what's available and attractive to them in general. there are some that choose based on deep-seated self-hate issues, or deep-seated hatred for people within their own race that treated them like crap at all times; but i'm excluding them from this conversation. Black people in fortune 500 companies, science, health (doctors and pharmacists - not records and technicians), lawyers, arts, etc. don't meet many other blacks at work or other places they frequent.

You're right on that but let me tell you why it is a problem. Black women generally have no problem with blak men dating outside our race. It's when you become successful & begin to have a preference of only dating outside your race is when the problem starts.
