Not to take away from success the Beach Boys made on this hit but the fact is a fact. I hope they paid ole Chuck for this tune. @blica1 That's David Marks. Al Jardine buggered off for a bit in the band's infancy, and Carl's friend David stepped in as a replacement. By 1963 Al was back and Murry fired David.

@Karateworm It should also be noted that both Al and David played in the band together for a short while making them a sixpiece before David left. Brian missed some shows and Al played bass. Of course both David and Al are now part of the band for the reunion which is cool :-)

David can really tear it up on the guitar though so i'm looking forward to seeing him again, his solo stuff is pretty decent too btw. I recently bought the book "The Lost Beach Boy" which is a really excellent read even if you aren't into the early part of the bands career. Check it out! :-)
