Lay off!" and this big thing started and blah blah blah but the main idea is that it is so sad when people stoop to that level to make fun of those who may not be as aware of things as they are and it's true that the people with mental disabilities are so sweet because they know what it's like to be judged and so props to you :)
yes, that part about people with mental problems reminds me of the movie the Ringer. Of course to someone who hasn't seen it, it may seem like a questionable concept, but how Johnny Knoxville interacts and builds relationships with all of these people at the special olympics, it's amazing. Opened my eyes.
There was this kid on my bus last year with some form of autism. He was the sweetest, gentlest kid I ever met. Some "gangsters" started making fun of him, and he didn't know it, although it was being done to his face. He thought they were being his friends, and I wanted to cry. I became friends with him, and told the kids to stop it, they were just making themselves look bad. I don't ride that bus anymore, but at school he still sees me and remembers me. It really touched me. You're so right.
I hope he does, not only for his personal benefit, and not just for advancement in technology, bu to show the world that they are no different than us, and that they can do things too. Wonderful things at that. I hope he revolutionizes the world, and changes the mold of thinking.
