I was not speaking of a dog from the shelter. I was speaking of my own dog before I was an ACO. I should not have used a personal experience, nor should I have expressed my personal opinion. I will continue to do my job and do my best to educate the owners of pit bulls in regards to responsible ownership. I will continue to help the breed of pit bull to progress and advance. I will continue to combat the abuse and neglect of pit bulls. This will be my final response. Thank you for your time.
Hello, My name is Clinton Nelms. I am an ACO. I created this account simply to respond to this video. This interview was based upon responsible ownership of pit bulls, not the behavior of pit bulls. The interview was 35-45 min long. I am a pit bull owner and advocate for responsible ownership of pit bulls. I never said all pit bulls are aggressive/dangerous. I never said no pit bulls can be rehabilited. I do not support breed bans. I said what you saw, I will not deny that.
Require testing, and for the owner to do a certain level of training with the dog in order to keep it... Guess what, that took me half a minute to regulate ownership... now roll with that california... get off your lazy asses and enforce it...
Anybody ever notice how ALL the dogs are barking at the pound? News 10 is just trying to present the public a "vicious dog," especially by showing one with a chain and padlock on its neck! Pfft.
Yes, pits can become aggressive if treated improperly, abused or if they've never been trained. Yes, sometimes they can't be rehabilitated. But that doesn't make every single one of 'em bad.
That guy is an idiot...the dog clearly hasn't been worked with. If so, what's up with the chain and lock around his neck?!? What kind of person puts that on a dog?
surprise surprise..a mistreated & abused dog attacks people & other animals?..thats a SHOCKER! The dog had not been rehabilitated..if he had then why did he have a padlock & chain arnd his neck?..Does this look like a rehabilitated dog to you? Does your dog have a padlock around his neck...I sure hope not
Also, if there were a prob w/ the dog, then y was he returned to his original (clearly unfit) owners? Every dog needs a good owner..not just this breed..we have a ppl problem..not an APBT prob
I have concerns when an Animal Control Officer has a negitive opinion on a specific breed of dog. They can't objectively do their job.
