If you can remember when you were a kid, you would remember the time you were scared just because you imagined something you didn't understand. Example: "DADDY!!" "What is it son!" "There's A monster in the closet". When I play horror games, the reason that I get scared is because of my imagination saying, "There's something going to come out of there" or "there's something going to just appear out of nowhere".

I think the more rough edges it has, the scarier it is. I think it's because it doesn't look good to us or even pretty. For us now it's somehow...ugly. And ugly things like spiders or insects are ugly or don't look pretty. And most people are scared of it, because it doesn't look familiar et cetera. That's why I think old graphics could scare more people than newer graphics. What would be scarier in Minecraft? A creeper like now or a high detailed creeper with 2000 polygons and nice textures?

It is in high definition, but the rough edges creeps the most. Even the pigs scare me somehow because they look unfamiliar to me (not the texture but the look of the pig model). But that topic is somehow personal, so everybody has its own opinion. And Misa's HD Texture Pack is very good, thanks for referring it.

I use ePSXe. I had troubles with it too at first. You need to download some other files before it will work, including zlib1.dll and I think you need to download some plugins too. if you google zlib1.dll you can find that fairly easily. i don't really remember where i got the plugins, but just search around for epsxe plugins and they shouldn't be that hard to find. Hope that helps.
