  • Wait a minute!...this is a spinning chunk of rock in the blackness of space...how does it produce such beings???

  • I sort of miss her old voice, but this is still enchanting.

  • That voice is both haunting and mesmerizing.

  • 30 people are 81x annoying.

  • i was the assistant mix engineer on this album. she is so nice and down to earth. great time those 2 months

  • @enthawizeguy I hope you realize how lucky you were to share your world space with a goddess.

  • I absolutely love this song

  • I would have sex with this girl.

  • @Boyan89 so would so many other people out there, and yet you choose to comment on her sex appeal instead of her musical talent? congratulations, you find joanna newsom beautiful like all the rest of us. youre not special.

  • Does she have any idea how she changes people's lives?

  • this song feels like a blanket made out of kisses and cinnamon buns

  • I am a harpist/singer and can play all of her other songs... HOW did I miss this new album? <3

    This song is so gorgeous.

  • gotta admit, i never liked her old stuff. but i LOVE this.

  • This would have fit in perfectly in Zelda: Skyward Sword!

  • When it song finishes, I want to go to the nearest forest and loose myself inside, listen again "'81", and fell in a sweet dream where will be Joanna playing the harp and all the animals of the forest...It's so...AMAZING!

  • She sounds so much different now then back in 2004. Can't believe that :/

  • Oh how I love her.. sigh..

  • My parents always told me to never grow up. To never, as they say, someday let the cynicism of this world cause me to hate. It may seem foolish, but I've decided to listen, decided to never grow up. Well, I don't mean to shirk responsibility, or literally stop my physical development. No, what I've decided is to remember to understand that no pain inflicted on me, no hurtful word, or crime committed at my expense is done personally but out of need, ignorance, pain, or mental instability.

  • @ZsTARR64 :)

  • She sounded like Lisa Simpson before :B

  • @edgarchpa HA HA SHE TOTALLY DID

  • im freaking in love with this song and im 12!!! i dance to it XD

  • Wow, her voice is normal now.

  • Reminds me so much of Kate Bush.

  • beautiful woman, beautiful songs!

  • i loooooooove this song so much, she has toned it down a bit, not as elfish as her early stuff but still staying true to her unique style

  • 26 justin bieber and rebecca black fans got lost

  • Where did you find all these wild pictures of Joanna? What a honey. What an angel honey.

  • She probably has very strong hands and excellent grip. That's hot.

  • she is my spirit animal.

  • beautiful

  • In regards to all the people who think this womans beautiful singing is bad; nobody gives one solid fuck about your opinion, because you obviously do not know how to appreciate fine music when you hear it.

  • @cocoaishot7 Man, you seem like such a douchebag. Do people really think that musicians appreciate it when their fans act like elitists?

  • @CIoudbby Sure.

  • @cocoaishot7 The correct answer was "No". Sorry, try again!

  • @CIoudbby Sure.

  • She's an angel from above, send to set us on the right track, in the form of music.

  • This is definitely one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

  • 0h my god 3:21 is heavenly ...

  • omgah... I didnt think there was a song better than Peach Plum pear.. but here it is..what a Flawless song

  • I don't know what the hell does this song has that relaxes me, way too much!

  • Love this song. Here's something that I just discovered accidentally: if you play this in two windows, starting the second track when the first track hits 2:29, it sounds damn cool.

  • Love this song. Here's something that I just discovered accidentally: if you play this in two windows, starting the second track when the first track hits 2:29, it sounds damn cool.

  • her song reminds me of a girl.

I THINK IM IN LOVE WITH HER!

shes the most beautiful girl ever.

but only if she would love me or give me a chance.

  • she remindes me of a little fairy! ^.^

  • Seems to be getting less irritating as she gets older.

  • 24 people have no taste in music.

  • This song has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. She is an angel.

  • this is so pretty

  • she is perfect perfect perfect perfect

    perfect

  • I really like it very much. A gorgeous piece of music...

  • I heard she married to Adam Slander

  • ditto.....except the female bit. poet, tunes, feel, melody, harmony, and shit

  • beautiful

  • If you listen to the melody this song would be a perfect correlation to Tim burton's

Alice in wonder land. The part when she makes reference to the garden party seems like the tea party scene with the mad hatter and the rabbit, when she states bring a friend seems like she is telling you to bring Alice. Hasn't any one viewed it that way?

  • Umm.. I forgot how to breathe.

  • I heard this on the radio last night in Eastern Canada and fell in love.....thank you

  • This is just breathtaking, her voice is beautiful.

  • I can't chose what to focus on, her pictures or her lyrics...

  • i'm amazed by her.

  • good lord... i would pound that ass with the force of thor and a thousand vikings.

  • biblical :)

  • Biblical!!!!

  • I love Joanna for her Uniqueness and her Fairytale like melodies.

  • THIS IS AMAZING!

  • I love her music and she is a pretty girl.

  • Liked her old sound

  • 0.26 <3

  • Her voice sounds wonderful since... But I do miss the edge that made her voice so much more unique.

  • Newsom makes life worth living. And shows how adventurous today's artists are. Wonderful this and John Grant's new album are my top albums of this year.

  • please check out my music, thank you :D

  • This song makes me feel as though I'm walking through Wonderland

  • grating voice.

  • love.

  • I love the way she sings "wondering sun"

  • she rawks her own sawks, cause she makes me seize...I totally cry and then she elevates it so i can't stop listening...

  • I want to marry her

    and I'm a straight female

  • @jitterbuggg8 i just thought that actually

  • @jitterbuggg8

I'll be your bridesmaid. And I'm a straight male.

  • @LoserBabyLuna your refreshing

  • Reminds me of Mary Margeret O'Hara in terms of her individualistic voice and songwriting

  • Along with her wonderful music and vocal skills, I adore that Joanna doesn't romp around in skimmpy clothing and excessive makeup like most other female artists today. She is AMAZING.

  • Love her...Monkey and bear is my favorite song ever.

  • New Kate Bush?

  • This song is so beautiful, it makes ne cry. Captures the exact emotions I am feelin right now :')

  • i shed tears every time i listen to this song. its so moving

  • sounds like a jewelery box i once owned...love it

  • Amazing tune...Heard Philip King on RTE play this...

  • This song reminds me of "Army Dreamers" by Kate Bush A LOT. Actually, Joanna's work sounds very similar to The Kick Inside and Lionheart. I'm a huge Kate Bush fan, so maybe that's why I never minded Joanna's voice. I think it's beautiful. It doesn't matter to me what anyone else thinks about her voice. I like it, and that's all that matters :) I don't need everyone else to enjoy it for me to enjoy it, too.

  • Or is it spelled Sandburg? Aw fuck either way. Lucky lucky bastard.

  • Andy Samburg, That lucky son of a bitch........

  • Holy shit. Amazing.

  • 2:11....

  • She's.. Amazing, her voice, is like nothing I've EVER heard, I listen to all types of genres of music, & all sorts of melodies. But this, this touches the heart, & purifies the body.

  • :'(

  • some of this photography doesn't seem to suit her

  • @0hN0y0ud1dnt Shut up, k thanks. You've NO ROOM to judge ANYTHING, about this fantastic artist. Keep your trap shut, & enjoy the beauty of her music, & the beauty of her picture(s). Keep quiet, twat. You're not a photographer, so shut up.

  • I know her voice is part of her style. But I prefer the sound of it in this song. Like less squeaky than usual. I think she should sing like this more often. Anyway, that's just me.

  • @MindInTheClouds Keep your opinion to yourself, she's wonderful at any time, any place, any note.

  • @twizzlers9 Comments are for sharing opinions. Besides, I was mainly pointing out how flattering THIS song is to her, musically speaking. I wasn't criticizing her in any way. Please be more open-minded.

  • @MindInTheClouds Then stop criticizing anything of hers, troll. I am being open-minded, right now, telling you to keep quiet with your non sense opinions . She sounds better than anything you'll ever do.

  • @twizzlers9 What the hell are you, the Joanna Newsom police? People have opinions. Grow up and get used to it, or get off the internet. Or at least save your defensive dogshit for comments that actually warrant it.

  • @longskirtchick LOL, your username saddens me, shh tool.

  • @twizzlers9 Wow, you really got me. I'm going to need some ice for that incredibly profound burn on my username...

  • @twizzlers9 It's almost as if you weren't reading what I'm writing, just blurting out stuff. It's pretty sad. And I doubt that you know what I'll do. In fact you would be impressed.

  • @MindInTheClouds Ugh huh... Anyways.

  • last pictures my favourite :') <3

  • <33

  • she's the artist that's like classical and you can always listen to her

    not all techno edited.

    <333

  • i love her :)

  • how have i never heard of this wonderfull artist??

  • this song is so magical and beautiful :)

just imagine being in a beautiful meadow for some reason

  • this song is hypnotizing

  • This song makes me cry , just like it was for the first time I would cry for real

    This is beautiful anyway :)

  • i've had this song on repeat for liek, 5 hours, and still not got bored. pure beaut this song <3

  • what an amazing song. anybody ever actually read the lyrics?lovely as lovely can get.

  • i love her voice is so clean and beautiful

  • @animehottie281 Clean maybe but like thirteen different types on clean in the same song. Sometimes i think shes got other people singing cause she jumps all over the place.

  • WOA her voice! it was touched by an angel *A*

  • Crack. This song is crack to me.

  • It's funny, my best friend HATES Joanna Newsom.

Except for this new album. I think it's because Joanna's voice changed a tad bit.

  • I have fallen for a woman I don't even know just now. I know I will probably never meet her or have a chance with her, but I have fallen for her. She is one of few women who radiate pure innocence and pure beauty without even trying. It seems like being with her would be an adventure in another world everyday. This type of energy is the most attractive thing a woman can have. I would love it if I could meet more women like this.

Did I mention her music is amazing too?

  • I. Love. Her.

  • i have never heard anything like this before. ridiculously beautiful :)

  • I feel terrible saying this because I know she sounds different due to vocal chord nodules that caused her to be unable to speak, sing or cry for two months...... but good lord it really improved her voice!

  • @interstates I agree soooo much.

  • @interstates I agree. She sounds a million times better now.

  • @interstates

Oh, I didn't know that! But I really like her voice! I hope they sell her CD's in Belgium. :D

  • @interstates

It's clear she changed her vocal placement. Nodules don't improve singing.

  • @interstates Well, she does sounds better, but before, she sounded nice too, I always thought she sounded kinda like Lisa from the Simpsons

I know you weren't trying to say she sounded bad before, I just wanted to say it

  • @interstates You're right - She has more control over her voice than before, I think. Although, I think we all agree we would have her either way :)

  • @interstates can you verify this information??? This sound alot like here-say. Please humor me with some credible proof.

  • @renethel @menkejo & @wapenstilstandsonder

I know nodules alone don't cause vocal change but she's made a concentrated effort to change her singing as well as to grow as an artist. But isn't that how she always is? Able to take something tragic and make it beautiful?

  • @interstates how does trouble with ones vocal chord nodules prevent crying??

  • I love her SO much. Lol I feel like I actually legitiamtely feel love for her because her songs are such a representation of everything that can't be put into words.

I saw her last night at Carnegie Hall. She was incredible. We met her afterwards ^^

    So was so very nice.

  • Quite incredible, so soothing
