  • 2:27 We were here today and the roundabout is about to go over the cliff. Where the slide meets the ground there is one anchor and to the end another. The cliff is now at the nearest end of those. The merry-go-round still spins as elegantly as the day it was made. A lost art in British Engineering. You can't sit on it any-more, there is only one foot board that has survived the coastal bashing.

  • @IOWPC i remember spinning on that roundabout in the 1970`s when it was like new. unfortunately someone has prized off the old wicksteed makers badge since my last visit.you are right they don`t make `em like that anymore.

  • That's how I remember the Chine as a child - oh for a time machine!

  • @Quarkman0 thanks for your kind comment, the chine has certainly had its heyday , no small part to mother nature.but its lost its simple charm somewhat as well.i first went there in 1974 and have returned countless times since.it used to be a serious hike to the bottom in those days and hard work on the legs on the way back up.happy days.:)

  • @Quarkman0 We could all do with a time machine, from time to time :)

  • @VECTIZ yep before the dinosaurs & nursery land etc

  • WOW amazing .';-)
