she looks like a skinny version of my zeppelin (my beagle). he does pretty much the same thing, except he refuses to kiss me (you know, he's too manly for that). so in between growls, he does that little whimpering whine and cuddles up to me.

My female Beagle gets her ass up like that, but only around the time she's in heat. When she snaps, she gets scolded and put in her kennel for a couple of hours, and that usually does the trick. I've had other female dogs that never got that way, but I've been told female Beagles can be moody like that during their period. They also said that breeding can correct this, and if not, then spaying for sure. :)
