I agree. I noticed that the ones from maisto are also increasing. I bought one back in 2007 for only 23.95 but recently I bought another maisto model for about 38.95. I have about 10 of 1:18 scale. Most are maisto models but some are burago. (Autoart is a little expensive for me though). Yes, I do collect those small 1:64 too a few years back. I have about 100 or so in my collection now. They are cheaper but I also notice their price increase, especially those from the Japanese brand, tomica.

@JW339seo Let's just say I'm on my safety net for now.. a rehab to 1:18 addiction. :) Keeping myself off from spending a lot again. Let's just say I've moved to a new hobby and downgraded myself to 1:64's and other smaller scaled diecasts. Btw have you read the news? AutoArt's prices once again, rose up. That's a show stopper, merely :)

BIG QUESTION.....They way they are stored/displayed. Does dust get in there? Do you ever have to clean them? I ask this cause all of mine are still in their original boxes and man, I hate dust! lol. Thank-you.

@Millertalon Yep, dusts do come in. But I don't clean my models often, What I do is, I insert foams in between the gaps of the glasses to prevent dusts coming in and put shot glasses with water in every decks of my cabinets so the water could filter the dusts. The waters will evaporate in just 2 days, so filling up the glasses in every 2-3 days is a must. It's tiring but compare the effort than cleaning all the cars one by one, this is easier. And by a month or so, I clean them all w/ towels

@Ahya728 Thanks man. I appreciate the response and with great detail. That water in a shotglass thing (better than a big one! LOL) is genius. I don't mind cleaning but I think I would get my buddy to build a custom airtight box as we've discussed this before. I got 50 and I got about under 50 left for the PERFECT Collection (that also includes what color each car is or 1st came out in). Been at this long as you have I'm sure and every couple months I play catch up on what's out there to buy.

@tayhardy1 Wow. That is ALOT. I'm nearing 60 now since before 2000 but reeeeeally picked up as of the past couple of years. You should write up the list, color of each car, and year if it says on the box or if you know it. Put it in Microsoft Word to copy; paste whenever asked from someone on the net what you have. I being one of those curious people as I still need a good buch to complete my collection.

Very nice cars. I'd say your McLaren F1 is fairly rare, I haven't seen one for sale lately. Why not any F1 cars in your collection? I have 11, but I will say they are a little difficult to live with, in that when you take them out you have to watch where you lift them from to avoid breaking the little aero bits.
