Okay, please, somebody DO something of substance with this eerily erotic song. Faith No More tried and failed--albeit admirably. Something techno/ambient. It can't exactly be a commercal, though...I guess I need to find out who actually wrote both music and lyrics and who has the rights thereto...anybody know? Please don't let it be Nestle. They discontinued the bar years ago.

Notice how nowhere do they mention "white CHOCOLATE". It's an Alpine White bar, it's "creamy white," nowhere do they mention chocolate. Hmmm :)

Still, these were really yummy and I don't care for white chocolate. These and their cookies n cream bars. :)

This is one of my favorite commercials from the 80's. Its hard to believe it has stuck in my mind for all these years since I was a little boy. I remember I wanted to buy an Alpine White so bad and my moms finally bought me one; it was nasty...lol. But the commercial definitely sold it :). But I always loved this commercial and it brings back such good memories. I would watch TV hoping it would come on, I developed the biggest crush on Sophie :). Well, here's to the memories.

This was when Nestle rebranded the Alpine White bar and emphasized the name "Apline White" instead of Nestle. I'd say this is from around 1991-92.

It's so funny! The other commercial versions say "Alpine White Bar w. Almonds" on it, but this one says "Creamy White Bar w. Almonds". Which one was first?

Anyway, I loved this commercial as a child! The song really does sound gorgeous. If it didn't, we wouldn't be talking about it many years later. This version is far superior than the other ones here on YouTube, which I'm seeing for the first time in my life!

The "Alpine White Bar w. Almonds" was introduced first in 1986, the "Creamy White Bar w. Almonds" was used a few years later around 1989. I'm guessing Nestlé decided to use a slightly different marketing strategy when promoting the bar so that it would sell better. Too bad it didn't last too long. I wish it was still around today. I remember having one while seeing this very commercial! They certainly don't advertise like this anymore! Well, at least there's Nestlé Crunch bars. :(

You know, I think this upload is a bit misleading regarding Sophie's singing abilities. It sounds like the tape wavers a bit which messes with the pitch from time to time. It makes it sound like she's straying off key when she probably wasn't.

There's actually 3 versions of this commercial. One with a female vocalist (staring the female model walking through the snow) and 2 with a male vocalist set to 2 different commercials.. The song was produced by Sophie B. Hawkins who sang "damn I wish was your lover". I wish it was coverd by some one else other than "Faith no more" because it did have potential to be a hit.Before Enya & Enigma captured that genre.

Thanks for posting this video. This song has played in my head for the past 10-15 years and I don't know why. I've read some of the comments on here and I feel the same exact way. Creepy, but somehow enjoyable and made a lasting impression on me.

I feel the same way. Goes to show that it was a really great advert for Nestle. Someone was thinging creatively! There was one for Mars/Milky Way that came out around the same time this one did, but I can't find the Mars/Milky Way commercial ANYWHERE. I remember the chorus going something like "Let's make life a little sweeter..." sung by a male vocalist.
