Xara's flagship product (currently called Xtreme Pro) is just as slick and fun to use, and MUCH cheaper than Adobe Illustrator. If you click on the "show/hide frame" button (Ctrl+R), go to Window > Frame size... (or Alt+R), you can set the window to be 50 pix high, and alter the width directly. If the frame is visible when exporting, then in the export dialogue, the current window size is automatically 50 pix. This will save you on trial and error during export.

Is there any animation software close to FLASH's quality that is cheaper? As an amature, I'm not sure I'm willing to shell out hundreds for a program I may not be adept at.
ever thought of using like zdsoft screen reccorder so you dont have to have some bad (not thaty bad) i mean you can put in the audio as filming just gatta flip through the settiongs a little (dont forget to dowbload a divx codec)

Xara Xtreme Pro offers basic flash animation capabilities (xara dot com). Simple flash animations are quick and easy to produce.

I was looking into this a couple years ago (probably around '03), and I wasn't too impressed.
Can it export .3DS? If it can it may be useful.
