@muzic140 That is a funny question. I have never counted. In this video, I was 8 years old and I don't have those blades anymore, my mom sold them when I outgrew them. I just counted the toepicks on my current gold Paramount blades- there are 7! I am 10 years old now.

@1997FigureSkating We got a costume from a costume shop and added the panty and sewed it together to make a skating dress. It was an adult costume.

you did a really good job! What kind stretches do you do to get your split jump like that?

@figureskaterstar splits on the floor. The key is to jump really high so you have time for your legs to open up like scissors do.

My 8 daughter just started skating 6 months ago, and loves watching Gia's videos, she is so inspirational, and skates with such beauty and grace. My daughter is working on her sahl chow, axel, spiral, chinese spiral and spins. (I don't know all the correct terminology for the skating moves) ;)

hey Gia,

im starting ice-skating lessons soon and im wondering if i should get my own ice-skates instead of using thiers because i went ice-skating yesterday but found it hard to ice-skate in them, the ones i'd preferd to have , my friend had but she's really seifish and wounldn't let me use them :/ so i was just wondering because i found a pair which are under 30 pounds and i could just use them for the lessons xxx

I am guessing that Canada and US have different levels cause Skate Canada's prelim is basically just up until you land a single lutz.../ that would have been a senior bronze or Junior Silver... she did awesome though, i skated for 9 years and never got that good, the stupid axel didn't like me... but congrats Gia!

@missicequeen21 Crystalrose Guerra and Gia worked together to choreograph this program. Gia won this competition with a pretty wide margin, if I remember correctly. She was really motivated to express herself, as this competition was in Gia's home rink.

@webkinzlover2021 Gia started skating at the tender age of 4 years old. But I have been told that a child can begin at 4 and begin at 6 and by 7 years old, they will be in the same place. From 4 to 6, she really developed a love for skating.

@blahblahlikespie Gia's head coach is Gary Visconti. She also works with Richard Ewell, Natalie Shaby, Alex Chang, Jere Michael, Lia Trovati and Peter Dalby (Moves and Ice Dancing). During summers, she works with Mr. Frank Carroll, too. Crystalrose Guerra is Gia's Artisic Dramatic choreographer. Gia skates in 5 different rinks each week, so her coaches are spread out among them.

@livinglovingkindness From Gia's Mom- Gia skates twice per week at the same time as Yuna Kim at the East West Ice Palace in Artesia. She also trains on the same sessions on Sundays as Caroline Zhang and Mirai Nagasu. Today, I was at the rink while David Wilson was working with Yuna on her choreography. Gia trained for years around Evan and other top skaters. Here in LA, they are everywhere. She knows them all quite well.

@kiwikid2013 Thanks so much. Cape Cod was a rough one for Gia. But, she grew as a skater. Now, she has moved from Preliminary to Juvenile. She wants to skate to Romeo and Juliet, so we may get the opportunity to see her in a much more refined role. It will be up to her coaches.

@Halbren100 Artistic is where it is not about the technical elements, but about how the skater interprets the music. Only 1 double jump is allowed, generally.
