  • If you guys really think that players like Rajon Rondo, John Salmons, Michael Redd, Hedo Turkoglu, Kirk Hinrich, Michael Pietrus, Raymond Felton are more athletic than players of the past than you people are out of your minds.

  • Comment removed

  • that dude robert pack was a beast back then

  • Andre Spencer averaged 11 ppg with the Warriors that season. I don't know what the hell happened to him after, but pretty much anyone averaging double figures in the NBA should be known to bball fans.

  • @americanaccents To be fair, Spencer did average 11 ppg for the Warriors that season, but he only played 17 games for them, which all came late in the season. He more or less played out the final month of a lost season for Golden State, as nearly everyone except Latrell Sprewell missed significant time due to injury. So yeah, technically he averaged double figures, but only in a handful of games that didn't matter late in the year on a horrible club. I wouldn't blame folks for not knowing him.

  • @Rake2204

I wonder if you could say Reggie Williams (out of the D-League) is a lot like him. Getting no-business scoring totals while barely sitting on anyone's radar.

  • @americanaccents Yeah that's a pretty solid comparison at this point. Though, as anonymous as Williams may be or seem, he was at least able to put together a full season in 2011 with pretty moderate statistics. Spencer never played more than 28 games in a season, so he may out-obscure Reggie in that regard.

  • 11-12 season will be all blake griffin

  • OOH MY GOODNESSS!! haha...

  • @MJfullofGrace did that dude say touchdown denver nuggets? lol

  • If you have a video, don't have a big grey box taking up 25% of the screen-

  • omg. shaqs been playing since 92?

  • Hahahaha yes chris Mullin WAS the "dunking demon".Super line that, as a matter of fact marvellous line all round

  • better make way for the PACKMAN! Robert Pack best under 6'0 dunker there ever was in nba, screw Spud and Nate they could do it in a dunk contest The packman slammed guys in thier face once a week!

  • THE PACKMAN!!!

  • this commentator is redonculous...

  • not today, shaq.....

    hahahahah

  • Robert Pack the Beast

  • i think this is why they now give technical fouls for taunting. That's a weak rule NBA!

  • classic

  • Robert Pack was an athletic wonder. That little dude could sky.

  • Hail 90's - best era in NBA history.

We had Reggie, MJ and Pipp, Kemp, Payton, Richmond, the Knicks, Zo and the Heat, Shaq and Penny, Grant Hill, Mutombo, Barkley, Drexler, Stock and Malone - all those in their prime.

Now we've got pretty little starlets who, sure, are fun to watch, but nowhere CLOSE the intensity level of that last golden decade...

Oh yeah, I'll miss Marv Albert and Fratello...

  • OMG somebody actually dunked over Shaq...

  • Derrick Coleman showing the rookie Shaq how it's done...

  • I 'member the John Starks dunk, and Robert Pack was always making the list in those days, crazy, considering he wasn't a big name.

  • yea sure today's players are more creative especially in dunking. I mean they have to lol. but athletic wise? I don't think so.

  • pretty sure all of shawn kemp's average dunks are better than these dunks, the john starks one is sick but to not even have any kemp dunks on this list is a straight up diss

  • first off, i'm sure these aren't the best 10 dunks of the year. second, yes guys do dunk better today, but i think thats more about creativity and the standard already having been set than it is about athleticism. i know everyone will think i'm crazy, but i don't think the guys are that much more athletic today. Average height is same, and avg body weight is higher. the players are definitely stronger, but also bulkier, which slows them if anything. vertical is probly just a bit higher

  • 1992 olympic team would destroy todays dream team by 20 points on avg. Way too much fundamentals plus JORDAN haha

  • Robert Pack was sick

  • I'm kind of surprised Starks didn't get #1 considering he won an Espy for it, but in the end I kind of liked Robert Pack's dunk the best I guess

  • shitty dunks? man, did you see shawn kemp's dunks? how bout sir charles' dunks.. and or shaq's dunks in the 90's.. they're all pure power..

  • you guys have no sense of humor

  • MJ should was number 1

  • for the guy below me, VC wasn't around at that time as he came in 99. Do you homework.

And for people saying the dunks are shitty, probably not paying attention real close, the beauty to those dunks is that they did it in traffic, I liked that era because of that.Real in your face dunks and put backs.

  • LMAOOO they just dont know basketball.. the nba was at its best at this time

  • ah ah! vc in the 92-03 season? You are crazy!

  • gotta love the 90s despite the generic sportscasters and shitty dunks. the players will still great guys and didnt care about money.

  • What do u mean shitty dunks!?!?!?!?

    That is not true!

  • shitty dunks..psh no way.. they are just as good as today.. in fact better. cuase skill level increases as the years go on.. but there are always those exceptions such as kareem , magic, and jordan.. etc..

  • Skill level hasn't increased. Skill level was superior back then. Now, there might be a little more athleticism due to performance enhancement, but skill level definitely isn't better today.

  • hmm i guess ur rite

  • derrick coleman... overrated!

  • Great to see some Doug West action in there :D

  • I've done better dunks on NBA Live '07. Lol.

  • Whoah! Check out the finger-wag of Derrick Coleman against then-rookie Shaq at 0:57! At least back then you weren't gonna be called for a T!

  • yo robert pack was crazy

  • robert pack should have been called for an offenseve foul

  • theses dunks are pretty shit

  • God, how old is this commentator? His voice hasn't changed in like 16 years.

  • Yeah Jim Fagen must be pretty old. I guess that how u spell his name. He's been an announcer for this show for years and years.

  • PLASTIC MAN FROM OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

  • The Stark's dunk is a legend

  • kemp's dunks are better than all but number 2

  • lol @ Alvin Robertson. And how about Robert Pack?! By the way that Starks slam is a little ovrrated.

  • JORDAN YEARS!!!...

  • Well the best dunk of that season was Jorfdans Freetrhow dunk against Portland.

  • i belive that rare but was shaq really in the leuge then\

  • Chris Mullin lol,

  • PACK!!!!!!!!

  • If I was Alvin Robertson, I'd shoot myself after the game.

  • Yeah that was funny as hell. How the Hell do u let "Chris Mullin" dunk on you. Nothin against Chris, but he was more of a jumpshooter. He wasn't much of a dunker.

  • Robert packs dunk should have been number 1 how long did he hang for

  • Ha! I've never seen Shaq get dunked on till now. *praises Derrick Coleman*

  • That kemp dunk over lister you're thinking of was in the 91-92 season lawleylawley.

  • You are right--the 92-93 season was Utah, Houston, and Phoenix (robbery) in the playoffs and 91-92 was Golden State (with said "Lister" play) and Utah in the playoffs.

  • The Kemp dunk over Lister in the playoffs didn't make the list? That was Kemp's introduction to the world!

  • That happened in 92, momo.

  • kemp's dunks vs G.State were in playoffs the year before

  • super mario is also a superhero

  • Dam!! Dat Shit was Crazy Chris Mullen Actually Dunked & Dropped Sumbody lol... Das Shit Iz Tite!!!

  • these dunks are shit

  • Respect your elders!

  • Thanks for posting this...I have some of these on tape also.92-93 was the first year I watched NBA,and I loved NBA Action..still do!! I especially love Chris Mullin laying out Alvin Robertson...mint!
