Have you ever just instead of rubbing just laid it down in the wet medium to dry and then pull it off?
Are there any other brands of transparency that work as well as the 3M? I have a designjet 500 plotter and need a wide roll of the stuff so want to make sure the transfer paper is fantastic before I plunk a $100+ dollars down.
Do u have to see over the top of the transferred image and does it ever lift off?
@bmayer00 i haven't tried that but i don't think that it would work - the image doesn't "fall" off the substrate as with, say, SOME wax paper with encaustic. Send me your address and i'll send you a sheet of the 3M and you can try out!!!
This is cool. your images came out well. I have been researching inkjet photographic transfers & it seems that this might work better for you if you apply the transfer straight to the paper instead of using gesso on the paper first. it seems the ink would adhere to a porous material better & since gesso is acrylic based it seals the paper and makes it less porous. at any rate, thank you so much for sharing this. it was quite inspirational. i agree with MzPixelFetish & think these are tarot cards
What amazing cards. Very macabre! I want to be sure I understand your process: gesso the paper? (Let it dry?) Paint over with gel medium and while wet, lay down image, rub=successful transfer. What kind of printer do you have-(brand, model#)? I have a very old inkjet printer. If the ink gets wet it smears! I love your final result!!!
are you using a thin enough layer of medium on top of the dried gesso? Maybe let the medium dry a little bit then, before starting to rub the ink onto the paper.
Greetings from Hungary :)

These look like very old European tarot cards...if you have 12 of them, my guess would probably be just those...thanks for the video...
