  • what amp ro speaker do you use in this viedo?? or you directly connect the vox le into the computer??

  • Hey man,

I always go direct from the Tonelab to a mixer. These clips were recorded with the camera mic. The mixer in this case was run through two monitors (1 X 12 and 1" horn). That's what you're hearing. Of course the camera mic scoops all the bass out.

  • That is ULTRA-SWEET!!!!!

  • Hi, can you please tell me the settings your are using ? Thank you !

  • It should be against the law to go sleeveless with chicken arms like that!

  • haha funny, but he played well thou

  • OMG - nice playing.

  • nice technique

  • Bear in mind that the camera mic scoops a good bit of the low end out of the sound. The actual sound is quite a bit fatter in person.

The beginning of the clip is actually the neck plus middle pickups.

    Thanks for checking it out,

    Mike

  • Love you man.. I just miss some more bass onto that guitar.. use the neck pickup or the middle pickup and neck aswell

  • Well thanks very much. The longer I play, the more I realize that you'll get "your" sound no matter what you plug into within reason. Still, new toys are fun.

  • thanks a lot! By the way, your tone is beautiful, one of the reasons I want to get one of thse!

  • Certainly you should be able to tie the Tonelab into the effects loop of the Peavey.

Rather than plug into the amps input, plug into the Tonelab and send from the output of the tonelab to the effects return of the Peavey.

Bypass the cabinet modelling on the tonelab and start tweaking.

It's not the ideal set up but you shuld be able to get useable sounds with some patience.

    Good luck.

  • I have a Peavy 6505+ and the tonelab but been getting some nightmarish sounds when I use it. Can somebody help me with this pedal? What can I do to sync this pedal comfortably with this monstrous amp?

  • Yes you can. Getting U2 sounds is no problem with this unit and you can (in stompbox mode)add and subtract effects individually.

  • very nice clean tone. can you PM me with the settings? i just got a tonelab and i am having a hard time getting the clean tone like yours. thanks!

    dave

  • I'd be happy to share the settings with you, but the unit is in storage right now and I honestly can't recall the amp model I used. I can tell you that I realy didn't do much to it other than take all the effects off and add a simple chorus effect.

  • Now i See, I have a GNX1 but the cleans or Tonelab is much bether.

  • mmm, this clean is very good to play Iron Maiden Cleans or Pull me Under to Dream, I like the sound, but maeby whit(-)gain, a litle.

  • Adding gain is as easy as can be. The nice thing about the Tonelab is that the controls are very similar to a conventional amp.

It's very easy to take existing sounds and tweak them to your tastes.

  • Well thanks for the view and for the kind words.

I think it's important to note that a good deal of Andy Timmons sound stems from the fact that he's a complete monster on the instrument.

I'm flattered to hame his name mentioned in any comment relating to me.

    Thank You,

    Mike

  • Super Natural Tone , if you plugged an ibanez wit hdimarzio pickups on that tone it would blow some Andy Timmons i think , great job Mr.MXGR149 .

  • How to have a neutral amp or a pa system at home? !

  • I'm not sure I understand your question but at home I use a nice set of headphones.

An alternative is to use a small amp and run the Tonelab into the return of the effects loop.

I'll bet you could even run an adapter from 1/4 inch to RCA and go direct to your home stereo.

  • very nice sound! mxgr194 could you tell me what is the difference beetween SE and LE version. I know LE is newer version than SE, but cheaper because of less function on it?LE better sound than SE or vise versa? thank you!

  • Thanks man,

The LE does have a few less functions (only one expression pedal and no A / B switch) but for my tastes the functions they eliminated were useless and actually annoying.

The LE does have a higher resolution (24 bit vs 20 for the SE) and some new sounds.

I have owned both. The LE sounds better, plain and simple. The SE is STILL better than most modelers but I definitely prefer the LE.

  • Play Mama Let Him PLay!!!!!!!!!

  • please, a freied said me that "...in TONELAB LE There is no A/B switch, so if you need both a clean and dirty channel on a song, you need to get creative..."...thats true...please talk about this...thanks.

  • thats not true, you can save presets, up to 120 i think, and they'll only be around 1,2,or 3 footstomps away. the way it works is you press a bank up/down button to select a bank (4presets r in each bank), thenhit one of the 4 switches to select one of the 4 setups in that bank.then all patches in the current back are 1 button away.(its simple when u tyr it)
