  • Another puppet who voted for the 700,000,000,000 billion dollar SCAM. What did we get for this scam? How about millions and millions of lay offs and people losing there job. Millions of americans losing there home. All while the executive's and CEO'S get rich off our money by driving there Company to the ground. Every politician who voted yes needs to be out of office. Use your brain and finally vote for

    Ron Paul

    "The change YOU wanted"

  • His speech really touches me and most speeches usually don't touch me emotionally. Here is a man who fights for ordinary people.

  • I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

    just moved new area S5

  • A loan is not a bailout.will the Banks and Moneylenders pay back the 775 billion from the congress or the 2 trillion from the Fed reserve.

  • How does it make sense for the American automakers to go bankrupt? Would you buy a vehicle from a bankrupt company? By the way, even the foreign automakers aren't selling vehicles right now. More than half of the population of America doesn't have a high enough credit score to buy a new vehicle. If the BigThree are not given access to loans, the foreign OEMs are going to be licking their chops at what they can charge for new vehicles (which, of course, are tariff-free).

  • Sorry, I intended my comments for the reknowned "PizzaGod", defender of the Constitution.

  • Pizza you just don't get it. I don't you will either, because you're mind is made up.

  • McCotter is right about the Wall Street Bailout and he voted against it.

He is a Hypocrite for supporting the Auto bailout.

HOWEVER with that said, he does represent Michigan and I bet the majority of the people there favor this bailout. It is just the Majority of the rest of the country does not.

Lastly: Please Rep. McCotter, please point to me where in the Constitution you swore to uphold does it say that the Federal Government can bail out or loan money to any company????

  • Pizza God, let me clear this up for you. The Bank Bailout was and continues to be a bad idea. The money has not been accounted for. McCotter rightly opposed it and continues to say that it is wrong.

However, playing the hand we are dealt, because the TARP funds DO exist, it is feasible that the automotive industry is just as entitled if not more to those funds. They asked for a LOAN with terms as opposed to the HANDOUT/GIFT to the banks with no questions asked.

    This man is a STATESMAN!

  • OK, clear this up for me,

Where in the Constitution does it day the Federal Government can bail out or even loan a company money??????

I for one have read the constitution and have not found it anywhere.

Listen, companies go out of business all the time, it is called the survival of the fittest.

Maybe the "Big three" need to drop down to the "Big Two" to be competitive. Other auto companies will take up the slack so there is not more cars produced than can be sold.

  • It doesn't and it also doesn't say that they can't. The point is the gift to the banks should NOT have happened. Credit has NOT been restored. However, it did despite McCotter's opposition. That said, the Big 3 is MORE deserving than say AIG who used the gift for multi-million dollar bonuses. I don't know about you but I'd rather my neighbor keep his job than watch funds be spent on lavish parties and bonuses for executives. The money was approved. Use it wisely.

  • Wrong answer, read the 10th Amendment

All powers not in the Constitution are given to the States.

The Constitution is suppose to Limit the government, our government has ignored the Constitution for years. Remember, some of the programs FDR and the New Deal tried to do were struck down by the Supreme Court as Unconstitutional. FDR's answer, appoint judges that agree with him.

BTW, we both agree on the bank bailout, I was just as vocal then, that is one reason I sub'd McCotter YT channel.

  • I understand the 10th Amendment. I also understand that McCotter is trying to make lemonade out of the lemon forced upon the taxpayers of this country. He ain't drinking the koolaid.

  • I used to like McCotter...

  • I too think he's wrong on this.

They need to file Chapter 11.

  • Well it is true that in order for Big 3 to become more competitive the best option is to file for chapter 11. Although this is the best option chapter 11 requires mmassive amount of capital to restructure. In this credit market where no banks will lend (well at least for now) its highly unlikely that the auto industry will be able to raise enough capital to even restructure. So either way I think we are screwed.

  • McCotter is the representative of the people in michigan, he has to support what they want

  • ...and then I forgot how to complete a sentence.

  • i love how McCotter keeps pointing out the double standards between washington's treatment of the auto makers versus the criminal financial institutions like AIG. we should go rip those million dollar bonuses from those aig crooks' hands. and then throw them in jail.
