great thing of this woman is that she kept singing her own good music against all odds. this is a lesson about being yourself all your life. she's not only an amazing singer, but i believe she has a great personality too. one can't sing so well without depth of heart.

This is awesome. I got the goose bumps watching this. I remember visiting the house where Xica da Silva lived in Diamantina. It's an impressive 18th century style colonial Portuguese mansion. She really must have been lived like a Queen.
