At 1:55 Donovan should have kicked it hard and high near post with his right foot. It was his only chance to score since he was at a bad angle.

I guess its hard to always make the right decision though, especially on a breakaway like that where he didn't have much time to think at all.

Been watching a few Galaxy vids to check on Beckham's form before the England games. I gotta say, every single goal I've seen them concede, the goalkeeper should have stopped. He's appalling. Absolutely appalling. Like an amateur player. Awful. Sorry.

which goalie do you mean, Cronin or Wicks? Both are terrible.

I've always thought that it's funny how all the blame gets put onto the galaxy defense and never on the terrible goalkeepers.

I didn't realise there were two: my god, a pair of them, that's bad luck. Just from the highlights, the team doesn't look too bad overall (but highlights don't mean much). Good mix of players, try and get the ball forward early. Just seem low on confidence more than anything, lots of half-baked tackles and hesitation in providing cover -- and very very low on a competent goalkeeper!

Actually we've had 3 goalkeepers. Cronin broke his hand, so we moved to his backup Wicks (last year's USL GK of the Year - 2nd division). He sucked so we brought in Josh Saunders on loan from Miami (he used to be with LA but he got cut last preseason). I hope we bring in Saunders full time because I think he is the best of the bunch (he's on the Peurto Rican national team).

Question for Galaxy fans, can Donovan finish with his left foot? He's clinical with his right but I can't recall him ever scoring from the other side and it may have cost a goal in this game.

i can't believe i actually thought the galaxy would make the playoffs.

it's embarrassing, having the top scorer in the league, along with a former world-class player (beckham) with such great history in the past and be in last place in the entire league.

the beckham thing was a total disaster.

i feel ashamed to even be a galaxy fan right now.

and my family wasted a crapload of money nine regular season games, but at least the mls cup final will be exciting.

It's no mystery as to what happened. We let Joe Cannon go and put a poor rookie goalie behind a couple very weak defenders (thnx Alexi!). The LA offense is still the best in the league. True fans stick by in the hard times. It does suck though. Please go see any Yankee fan...

That, my friend, is bacause you are wrong by thinking Beckham was a "top-class player", when he`s actually a "Top-Class t-shirt seller", yes he has make your club (and Real Madrid, and the england NT) very rich, but he dosen`t understand about selfsacrifice and "leaving it all for the game" exept for his time in Man Utd. he performed pretty shamefull in both Madrid not to say England (not qualifing to the Euro 08). So dude change your idol to Donovan at least he scores

You're mistaken, by no mean was Beckham brought to the MLS to score, because (as any real follower of soccer knows) Beckham is not known for goal-scoring, but for his assists and free-kicks(which he currently has the 2nd highest assists in MLS). Beckham and Donovan (and SOMETIMES Buddle) are the true back bones of this team. He is a contributor not a scoring machine. He's on a roster with the worst Defenders in the league. Don't hate . . . APPRECIATE! he's done all he can.

Good argument, but wrong my friend, the MLS and the LA GALAXY brought Beckham for the money, pure and simple he is lake the king-midas-of-football (i`m argentinian i said football not soccer) he turns gold everithing he touches, but he is an awfull player, coward, i apreciate football i really do, but i tell wat i don`t like: a player who prefers to be payed above playing. if you not enjoy the game then F*ck of dude!!!

Though I agree with you on bringing him in for the "money" issue. i have to disagree with you in one thing Beckham may not be the player he once was before, but nevertheless, he still contributed to this team tremendously. He's still being called up to play for England and not by popular demand (the British like him as much as you do) but because he is a team player, i give credits when it deserves to be give.

The galaxy's defensive line and keeper are to blame for their predicament Beckham has only contributed to the scoring and has even played as a "defen. Mid" to help the galaxy in the back. I don't know why people though of him as the "Saviour" for the LA GALAXY when he's a -Right Midfielder- to begin with.

well yes he may have experience to sheare with the american players, just as for instance Guillermo Barros Schelotto may have (who is a personal idol for me and my team Boca, even biger than maradona) but think of this: wich is his best quality, play or modeling, i think he is a malemodel who happends to be playing football, but besides of that is his game i don`t like, his stile, may be is just a personal thing but i prefere the fighting players. Well, obviously if he were after the money, he would just stick with modeling and forget soccer, but I've seen in an interview when they asked him "Do you keep in such good shape for your numerous ads and Photo shoots"

he said "I keep in shape beccause I am a footballer, It has always been my career. Modeling was just a plus, my fitness determines how well I play on the pitch . . . my passion is Football above all"

And it shows when he plays for England. Respect to "El Mellizo"

I went to this game and sat with a rowdy bunch of fans in the bleachers throwing streamers and confetti. It was the greatest time I've ever had at a sporting event...and the Crew won! GO CREW!

So, just because your team won't be in the playoffs you wont watch them? Wow, and then so many of you complain that foreigners bash you. Who cares if the Galaxy didnt advance? The Galaxy is the most popular and also the most hated team, just like Real Madrid in Spain and MU and Chelsea in England.
