Why cleanse the area if you're not using gloves? Theres no point if your going to be rubbing the area with your dirty hand that you just had in your nose and on the toilet seat.

No gloves = poor hygiene!

@hanamichi10a11 It could be many reasons. You may be applying the wax on too thick (it should be fairly thin of an application). Also, it is important to apply the wax with the direction of hair growth, and remove with the opposite direction of hair growth. Or if you applied in an area that wasn't cleaned off or dry, if it was wet or moist, applying baby powder helps, and then wax over the powdered area. Another reason could be the brand of wax you are using. Cheap waxes don't do very well.

She didn't make sure to get the excess wax on the first part of the underarm, incorrect. I heard that you should use baby powder or powder from the beauty supply store before waxing, so it absorbs the oils off the skin so it's easier for hair removal.

@footballraven16 Yes waxing gets rid of the dark discoloration,razors cause the dark spots,you shoul wax its only 10-15 bucks and it last 3 weeks to a month it hurts the first time but its like plucking your eyebrows you will get use to it,Try it girl! its worth it

ok, so then so ... you wouldnt mind if she waxed your lip after doing a brazilian wax on the person ahead of you. I mean since the wax is hot enough to kill hepatitis and TB...not! The wax would have to be autoclaved to kill the virus. I so happen to be a tattoo artist and am completely aware of the risks. Check into it, trust ME it is very unsanitary and illegal.

well i dont know, every esthetician ive gone to double dips, otherwise they're lose money having to pay for like 100 000 000 popsicle sticks a day :P but that's the risk people have to take when going for waxing thats all. but since most people dont bleed during the procedure, its hard to transmit those kinds of serious infections, because there is no (or shouldnt be any) blood transmission. i understand it can be unhygenic though. that's why i go for electrolysis :) still <3 waxing though.

I use to wax my underarms and its not painful. The first pull is breath taking, but then you get use to it. I had really course black hair and it worked great for me. Didn't have to shave or wax for 2 weeks.

Try sugaring, you go with the hair rather than against it, it breaks less and tends to hurt less that way...you start to get used to it after a few treatments.
