i do have a microphone in built into my camera and yes it is shit... but i was hoping you could tell me how to work the sound effects... i know it does have them i just cant find out how to work it over msn (it says "DSE on it) please help
It's nice to impart your knowledge to others but why post a five minute clip when it should only take 30 seconds to give this simple advice? A quality external mic is the best way to go.
If you are going to upload youtube site you should know that the video is downsized to somthing like 320x240 so for the camera you would want to get high res does NOT equal good quality.
Hello Chris and Ponzi. Addt.comment on the Canon XL.This camera will take EOS lenses(battle tested and budget priced).Way cheaper than Sony's media stuff.Too bad Panavision digital costs 1 million usd. best regards
Chris. I've enjoyed your mag. articles. A good condenser mic with usb connectors for under 75.00 usd is available from guitar center. I personally use an old turner ham radio mike with a locking ptt switch. great to have for extended computer qso's and the audio is first class. next project is to set up a Canon XL/motorized glide mount/Sennheiser wireless mic mini-studio. The microphone built in to the Microsoft LifeCam HD-5001 is fabulous. I've used it for screencasts and video reviews. It sounds awesome!

Iv got a logitech quickcam communicate and the audio is suprisingly good you would be shocked at how clear it is.
