  • did you modify the cylinders or valves??

  • Looks like honda d16 engine?

  • are there only 2 crankshaft bearings ? man you are crazy ;)

  • @Tailgunner088 Not sure if I was crazy, maybe just stupid about making engines when I made this one ;)

  • would you sell that by any chance

  • @1224steve Afraid not, its long gone and a bad design anyway.

  • where do peeps get lego rev counter??? :(

  • @1stbeardyweirdy I got mine off of bricklink for about $15.

  • Listen to the sound it makes... Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

  • are the cylinders and switches modified?

  • that is so cool

  • where do you get those pneumatic pumps?

  • itd look good running without those ugly grey side plates on the engine

  • i'm wondering how you can connect a psi gauge to a lego set and find out how much psi it will take to blow apart a lego air tank

  • where can u get these at

  • Heck of a inline 4 steam engine :P

  • cool sound;D

  • ps. dont forget to change the timing belt every 100,000 miles! if that thing breaks, you're out an engine!

  • lol, this is so great!

this is the same design as the engine in my 96 accord... it probably puts out more power too!

    i got a, 4cyl I-4 2.2liter 125hp

  • I have an air compressor and a lego engine, but how did you connect the lego tubing to the compressor?

  • please please man u gotta make instructions ure engine is so cool

  • i got an idea to a thing you can post;p in the summer, i build a motorcycle engine/ V2.. it's runs very freely and sound like a harley;b if you got time try it, i would like to see your way to build it(;

  • Maybe, but my engines now are much different.

  • The pistons go up and down and they are connected to the crankshaft, when they go down they push the crankshaft and the crankshaft moves the piston up while it's connected to a chain which connects to the gears and you know what else happens...

  • Thise cylinder will leak. dont hook up che cyl direkly on the crank, make a stationary cyl with a beam instead if you dont want to break the cylinders

  • coolest lookin lego engine to me.. =P

  • when is someone going to build a lego jet engine?

  • they have lego turbines o.o

  • @uhmidk7 i made a halv jet engine xD

  • why don't you just build a air powered turbine engine like someone here on youtube built and connect it to the crankshaft? It will give you a VERY high rpm.

  • Yes, yes, I know I know , but you know what it will also give? Very very low torqe, so, as a result, despite the high rpm, lego turbines have extramely low power. So adding a turbine to the crankshaft woud do nothing but waste even more power from the compressor.

  • Oh... I don't really know much about Lego, I haven't touched lego for years... But I guess you're right.

How about using some kind of pulley (I think that's what it's called) instead of a turbine?

That would probably give more torque. It's like gearing the system down and you would still get a lot of RPM's.

  • I'm not sure what you mean by a pulley, sorry, but unless it is perfectly sealed, I doubt it would produce hardly any power. Thanks for the reply though.

  • You know those "wheels" that are used on really old steam ships and stuff instead of propellars.

  • I know what shape you mean, like a paddlewheel, but I don't recall a lego one. I guess you could probably build one thuogh.

  • where do you buy cylrnders

  • BrickLink, where I buy all my parts.

  • Put a heavy flywheel, and it will run much better and bleed

  • i want to maker a boxer motor see if it sounds like an impreza

  • LOL that would be sick I want to make a Wankel Rotary. Haha or maybe a 2jz with an ssq bov hahahaha.

  • Lego's lol.

  • you need an air tank. a higher volume of air will get you higher rpms.

  • or rather longer running time. I recently upgraded from a 50ml liquor bottle to a gatorade, my engine doesn't run any faster, could be that its one cylinder though, and I really need to lube these things soon *giggity*

  • do the old switches work better than the new ones?

  • yes, the new ones are hard to take apart, if you want to mod it with less friction

  • I've been looking into this modding thing, how hard is it? I can't seem to find any videos or websites, and I don't really want to break these damn expensive parts.

  • This one was one of my older designs, so I actually didn't modify anything on this one, But I'll be posting my new car here soon, a lego car that I can ride on!

  • Thanks for commenting on the sound but don't be mistaken- the main noise is the compressor.

  • wow man,so cool sound...

  • thats awsome..u should put it in a lego truck....lol

  • Jesus, this engine sounds really meaty.

  • thats decent for what it is, nice!

  • the cylinder is connected directly to the axle try using rods atatched to the cylin der and then connect it to the axle.

    nice though

  • Yes, i understand that now, check out my inline 2.

  • cool i see a great mechanical enginerer

  • Thanks! It doesn't have any conrods though, and although it does have massive power being 4 cylinders, the crank has no central sopports either, so the crack simply brakes.

Make sure to check thee 2 cylinder, it's much better.

  • This is a really cool engine! NIce job!
