2008 2.8 8 Core Apple Mac Pro Kingston 16 GB RAM Upgrade!

Is the 2009 2.26 8 Core model Mac Pro waaay faster then this one? I looked at bench mark results and there is a significant difference in numbers. Would you recommend this Mac for HD video editing as well?

I'm sure I can get more than 68 tracks with 16GB's, because I was getting that many tracks with 6GB's. It should be well over 75 with 16GB's of RAM.

i just upgraded my mac with 8gb of ram so i now have 2x2gb, 2x1gb, and 2x4gb sticks abd to my extreme disappointment my cinebench score remained unchanged. my machine reads 14gb of ram but im wondering if the order in which i have them installed isn't optimal?, or that ram upgrade just doesn't affect the rendering THAT much. the meory is installed in matched pairs as per apple instuction manual, but i have heard that you should install memory descending from larger to smaller, is this true? ty

@scottfree6 Yep, that's true. I just installed more memory I have 6 pairs of (2x2GB) and 1 pair of 2GB (2x1GB, the original memory). I have the 1 gig stix in the last row of the "b tray".

@pufixas Yeah, but I'm not really fully self made, I used my inheritance from my uncle 500k to invest in citi group when it was down to a dollar a share back in 95 and sold in early 07 at around $50 dollars a share 500,000x50=25,000,000, so I made 24.5 million dollars of a single investment, after I bought KFC and Pizza hut franchises, after the pasta and wings started revenues were really up, I am worth like 65 million now, and I am very blessed, thanks for your comment.

@pufixas I don't have paypal and no offense you personally I don't like to putting credit card information and such things on the internet, but I'll give you some tips, stay in school, get as much education as is possible, and do what you love. If you want to make money of stocks I recommend googling penny stocks, they're some of the best investments I've made in my life. Due to the fact that an increase of a few cents can result in a major increase you can make a lot of money.

In my opinion 8 cores are crap compared to highest spec Mac Pros you can get now (With 2 Processors obviously!) when you put them to highest specs with 32 GB of Ram it goes like a rocket but still good video 5*

there is a way to boot to 64 bit without holding down 6 & 4 but it wont let me post the strings

actually by default in snow leopard you are running 32 bit. Before you boot up (before the apple logo) hold the "6" and "4" buttons together during boot up. Then you will be in 64 bit. nice video to say the least.
