  • In 2002, the poverty rate in America was about 12 percent. In 2009, it was about 14 percent, up two points despite more than $4 trillion in welfare spending over that period. Medicaid, which counts for $276 billion this year, an 87 percent rise in 10 years. Food stamps are also big, up a whopping 260 percent in 10 years. Child nutrition programs are up 82 percent, low income energy assistance is up 190 percent Immigration iilg & legal w/ kids up 57% SOCIALISM AT IT'S BEST

  • Before last election Congress controlled by Dems Since Barack Obama took office, the national debt has increased by $4 trillion. That's in just two and a half years. In eight years under President Bush, a big spender, the national debt increased $4.9 trillion.

So doing the math, if Mr. Obama's spending jag continues as is, he would run up almost $13 trillion in debt if he serves two terms. That's nearly three times what Bush did and far more than any president in American history.
