  • Just thought I'd put my two cents in.

The character is awesome, and the animation is really realistic, however I think that the shadow could have been darker to match with the rest of the objects on the desk.

    Love the work!

  • This is very cool. You used Blender to make the Ogre?

  • @Nightmare1066 - Thanks, no maya and zbrush were used for the Ogre.

  • is the desk and environ generated in maya too?

  • @35906 Noo, that's my office and desk, shot with the Panasonic HMC70 HD video camera. No enhancements.

  • Holy crap that was vivid. Was the surrounding area computer generated or enhanced? I couldn't figure out what was real. Nice work on the animation as well. I like how his body moves fluidly when he moves, particularly the chest/shoulder area. Can he do any kung fu or perhaps the macarana dance yet? Are you in another contest by chance?

  • @thybigballs Hi, thanks! No the surrounding area is my desk, it's not enhanced. We aren't in a game design contest right now, just working on our latest game, Ogre Islands. Yeah, we already made a render of the Ogre dancing and doing some funny stuff :P, but probably won't post those. :P

  • This was just an animation to test the matchmoving track, not a VFX shot, I know that having him walking in a cycle doesn't make sense or fit in, but its the only animation loop so far for this character, so I decided to use this as a test.

2 directional lights and 2 area lights rendered in Mental Ray for Maya.
