The main archetype I play is Diplomat. The Grox are the ultimate challenge to diplomats; to befriend a being of utter hate. I always ally the Grox when I play Spore in general. Mainly because all of the games are interconnected, so if I kill the Grox they are gone FOREVER and I will never see them in any files. That, and it's easier; besides, at that point in the game the main method of expansion is conquering enemy planets, so it shouldn't be too big of a problem to kill everything you meet.

You can kill grox civilizations completely by terraforming there planet. Thats most likely why there hiding the center.

Once you ally them. make a trade route with the home planet called Hiwajin or something, it's 1 parsec away from the galactic core. Notice that all the grox planets Are T0. that's because they don't need oxygen and can have factorys on T0, so you get that ability for their home planet if you buy it out.

Actually it reduces all by a certain amount,so if all allied empires have friendship of about 500 then you could be friends with the whole universe.
