  • love those ibanez's

  • I want my son to play guitar with me :3

  • Merry Christmas! We have also have a guitar duel posted with my son from when he was 7 years old last summer.

  • your son has the same Ibanez as me:)

    good xhoice

  • I want that Hellraiser C1 from the thumbnail so badly...

  • well done guys hats off to both of you

  • @sid8980 thanks, we appreciate that very much! :-)

  • @bandersohn @sid8980 whaat? it's a schecture dude.. not a PRS

  • @sid8980 - thanks.

  • I love how the son's guitar is tuned in a 90's style while the father's is tuned in a 70's style. It's like a battle of the birth decades and it sounds awesome.

  • All cool dads play bass.

  • Schecter hellraisers are amazing for their price, I have one myself and they play somewhat close to a prs but IMO prs has like a schecter and Gibson neck combined feel. Prs and schecter are both great guitars it's a matter of preference of which guitar is better but for the price schecters are great!

  • Can i be your son too? :]

  • precision : nothing sad happened to my father, we just didn't had time... But we'll have plenty in the future ^^ !!

  • @bandersohn THAT'S AWESOME ^^ !!!

I would have loved to jam with my father like that (even more with that kind of freaking equipement you got) ! Enjoy before he gets to strong and refuse to play with you ;) !

  • ITS YOUNG JACK BLACK

  • great job guys !! pretty sick

  • at 0:10 whats the name of that red guitar

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms - That's a PRS (Paul Reed Smith) custom 22 Black Cherry. I WANT IT!!! hehe~

  • @bandersohn , Actually, that is a Schecter. About 100 levels and $3000 bucks less than a PRS CST 22. PRS doesn't use lame Pearloid binding to try and make their guitars look cooler. They can stand on their own. And a PRS would never be made stock with EMG's in it, bro-ham. Sorry. It was a nice try, but you, sir, are incorrect.

  • @librarianbeetle there are actually 3 red guitars at 0:10, I was just guessing and assuming it was the PRS since we had just played that one 10 minutes earlier in this store. Thanks for the clarification and comparison for those who might be shopping for guitars.

  • @bandersohn the one in the center of the screen is some form of esp actually. PRS never uses that design, or EMG's. i dont know exactly what esp it is, but some of my friends have them.

  • @librarianbeetle He never said anything about EMGs but I do agree that he was probably referencing the Schecter as it is in the center of the picture and its shiny. You cant even see the PRS just barely for like two frames OP. I like that 7 string. Hey OP what was the seven string above the schecter?

  • @librarianbeetle There are a couple of PRS guitars you can now get stock with EMG pickups in :) Nice try, but you, sir, are incorrect :)

  • @librarianbeetle actually the prs torero has emg's as the stock pups

  • @librarianbeetle I'm glad to finally find someone who too thinks that this abalone is so shitty!! ^^

  • @bandersohn Bow before my BC Rich Warbeast! haha kidding :P im proud to say that i think my guitar is the most beautiful ever mad.not the best technically speaking though

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms Dude thats not a PRS , thats a Schecter Hellraiser c-1 FR (Black Cherry) . I have one , its an amazing guitar !

  • That is a Schecter Hellraiser C1 at :10. I have one as well. Best playing guitar I own. Much better than a PRS imho. Prefer the sound of the pickups on my C1 Standard though. EMG's are nice, but the Duncans are brighter for soloing.

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms der r alot of red guitars at 0:10

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms a schecter

  • @SUPERDUDE2599 yeah, i got a green hellraiser the other day

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms A same model it schecter black jack atx.. i think :D

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms That my friend, is a Schecter Hellraiser. And for the people that try to compare a 800 dollar guitar to a 4000 dollar guitar: why even try? The Hellraiser is about 800 dollars/euros but imo it's as good as a 1500 dollar/euros guitar. Seriously.

  • SCHECTER HELLRAISER C-1 FR!!!

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms Looks like an ESP or LTD Horizon

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms Thats a schecter hellraiser with floyd rose bridge. i have one! They also come with tuneomatic bridges

  • @mattjf09 i brought one like a month ago now, i got the deep sea green schecter hellraiser c1 fr.. its amazing :))

  • @AwesomeFunnyFilms it is a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR

  • 0:29 JIZZ IN MY PANTS

  • what is the name of the guitar strap

  • i tried out 4 americas got talent and i heard ya shreding it in there

  • @KlynneRandomness - that is soooooo Cool! Sorry we didn't get to meet or hang out in LA.

  • Great job, guys!!

  • the kid became to look like herman from dragonforce lol

  • he looks like one of the guys from asking alexandria when they were a kid xD

  • wish me and my father could do something like this :/

  • i wish my dad played guitar too

  • @HUNGRY4ROK - thanks, we really appreciate that. We're thinking about doing a "round II" and using live video this time, then we'll let the viewers vote!! This kid really does rock and the truth is, he may just out-rock his Dad.... NOT!!! lol~ :-))

  • when did he appear on america's got talent. Did he make it? How did he do. He is awesome in this vid. Dad you were too. Hear that beat. As i am typing to the beat myself. Wish i kept up with my intrament. The Clarinet hahahaha who knows what i will be doing now. lololol

  • @eurogirl45 - we made it to the third and final round but didn't get onto the show. It was an awesome experience for sure. Check out the latest video of Brandon that got him into a Band that is signed. They're called the Crosson Brothers and are playing live on ABC channel 10 in about an hour.

  • @hartlebeast noo i dont think that's right :S because if u do a one octave chromatic scale in 1 second, ur already playing 12 notes per second. and that's really quite slow for a chromatic scale. also i plugged in semi quavers into 120bpm in guitar pro and its really not that fast, i think you might be somewhat mistaken

  • Its hard to believe that kid's only 13...hes better than 99% of the guitarists who get paid for their work!

  • @hartlebeast hate to be a killjoy as well, but where did it say it was shredding?

  • @hartlebeast hmmmm i think there must be some mistake

i played a scale, asked someone to time me, and divided the number of notes by the time (in seconds), that would give you the notes per second right?

also i put in semiquavers in guitar pro at 120bpm and its really not that fast

  • @hartlebeast aha :D im fastish but sometimes my improvisations lack melody :/

but i thought it had to be at least like 16ish notes per second to be "fast"

  • @hartlebeast are you sure about that definition? :S because that's quite slow..

  • 1:53 What a babe <3 jk

  • A Joe Satriani and Kirk Hammet Guitar Duel

    dude your title is wrong

  • where is the duel

  • Ok that's pretty epic

  • Whoa...this is pretty damn good.

  • Niice!

    <3 jeans @ 1:51

  • what amp do you use? i cant stand line six

  • @Longshanksthebrave - I played thru a Boss DR 660 Drum machine and my son played thru his mini fender amp.

  • @bandersohn

I use Marshall haze 40 with zoom pedal but i cant find the right sound for me

  • @Longshanksthebrave - keep searching my friend, tone is everything and you will find that perfsct tone and sound in your quest for excellence and perfection. Just camp out at a guitar center for a few days and try every possible option available till you find the one that says "TAKE ME HOME!" :-)

  • @ShirmyJay Whatever dude, you asked for it with your dumbass comment.

  • The kid looks like the young version of Jack Black in the first scene of Pick Of Destiny... :D

  • @hartlebeast - A Roland VS-1680 digital 16 track.

  • the kid is fat haha but cute

  • Damn I wish my dad was like this, all my dad ever does though is sleep all day n work at walmart all night... Depressing, really... :(

  • @TheRandomese HAHAHAHAHA =(

  • why no live footage of you jammin??????

  • @mrgoodvibrations - we are going to put together a live video recording of this song very soon, thanks for the reminder. At the time when we recorded this, all I had were these photos to sync with the music.

  • Who else think the boy looks like the guitarist of bring me the horizon O___o

  • why is this related to waterslides?

  • @abci23billionmillion - not sure how that happened, waterslides??? hahaha~ :-)

  • @bandersohn haha strange

  • @abci23billionmillion dude, seriouslyy!

  • How is it a guitar battle if the dad plays bass

  • @loafer3578 - I only play the bass for the Armored Flight.com family band, otherwise you will always find me on an acoustic or electric guitar. :-))

  • that was sick, i cant play to save my life :D

  • i love this!

  • You boths needz teh practiz

  • Son.. I am disappoint...

  • whos who?

  • SON WUZ BETTER

  • now that kid has a cool father!

  • Rock on!

  • @bandersohn that was awesome! What an experience you get to share with your son!

  • Wow and I thought my hair was long... But he is amazing just like you!

  • @raleojay - yeah, it was really long, but he cut it all off since this video. Thanks for the compliment, that was cool. :-)

  • P.S Loved it !

  • well its no surprise.. since he has a home studio and all the equipment he can ever want.

  • you can hear who is playing at the moment, two completely different guitars

ive just listened to the video and didnt watch it

i thought : yeah .. a les paul.. at the sons guitar i wasnt very sure.. but i thought it must have been something like a ibanez, jackson or ltd

great playing, very talented.. with enough practicing you could easily fasten up that shredding thing

  • @murcie92 You're Good! I (dad) was playing an Ibanez (Jo Satriani Model) and the son was playing his Ibanez RG series. Great ear man! :-) Thanks for the kudos too.

  • @bandersohn

i think your sons Ibanez RG sounds way more agressive, even by itself with no distortion

Your guitar sounded very "smooth" to me, love your tone btw

what amps are you guys using ?

  • @murcie92 we actually played thru the Boss dr-880 drum machine using the home recording console and some event 20/20 reference monitors. Normally we play thru a Marshall half stack and a yamaha tube amp whick is similar to the line 6 series. We're starting to get quite a few gigs now, wonder if this video has anything to do with that? :-))))

  • @murcie92 great! you know your stuff! glad to see people like that

  • dude that kid has a hella come over!

    haahhaahh

  • dude the kid is awesome at guitar,if you keep playing like that youll be a professional some day.

  • Exelent harmony, you guys are amazing.

  • bass wins X)

  • wow... it must be great to share this with your son.... love the song....

  • Slap bass always wins.

  • They both win, that was great.

  • awww thats the bonding I would like with my dad! But he was mostly just working and he never had the time for us.

Great Jamming though! Good to see parents that do care about there son.

  • if this is improvising I gess that it is very good

  • Awesome

  • dad

  • wheres the holy spirit?

  • @Gaiixable lol thats terrible he was asking for it though

  • i have to say that the fathers "guitar" is realy a bass ¬¬

  • @kikoko10 - just in some of the photos, for the recording, Dad is only playing guitar.

  • Who Won? :D

  • @popcornlicker1082 - Father says the "son" did! He's only 13 and smokes on that guitar! :-)

  • @popcornlicker1082 *facepalm*

The viewers get their own opinion on who won.

Even though we really can't tell who did what solo. -.-

  • @clicknom - great point, I'll add annotations since we didn't video the "battle!" :-) As the father here, I'd like to say I won, but as a proud parent, I have to say the son wins!

  • @clicknom - OK, added annotations, hope that helps. Thanks for pointing that out :-)

  • @bandersohn That helped a lot.

And the winner is....The Bass Guitar! I just love the bass. XD

Nah, I think with the shredding, the son edged ya by a bit.

Nonetheless, still a good song and good job by both.

  • @clicknom - Thanks. :-)
