  • I believe it is also a proud British custom to make fun of Morris dancers?

  • this is so cool using it 4 school project

  • It's not Young Colin .... It's Young Collins.

  • I enjoyed this very much. It is very nicely done. Thank you

  • fucking true mate, bunch of fags

  • This is lovely! Thank you for posting this.

  • Fascinating, Captain! *raises one eyebrow*

Seriously, I had never heard of Morris Dancing before I came across your video (in the "related video" section). I was inspired to research the topic and found it very interesting. It's great that these traditions are maintained.

  • I still enjoy watching my video of The Long Man Morrismen, but it has a lot to answer for, as this was the first video I uploaded to YouTube, as I realised that if I stood close to the Music Source I could pan around and still get a decent recording visually and orally. I subscribe to the BBC POV Messageboards & a wag suggested a Celebrity Strictly Come Morris Dancing Series on TV, which caused much hilarity, but I can think of many TV shows currently broadcast that are a lot worse an idea!

  • Great tradition. What's the pig figure for?

  • Most Morris Men Groups have a Hobby Horse or other strange character to accompany them & The Long Man Morris Men have a Boar, I said Boar, not BORE!! (LOL)

  • morris dancing comes right out of the earth into our souls...God bless the crops...

  • I would have liked to have seen The Long Man.

  • I just posted two more Morris Dances this time from Alfriston in East Sussex on July 14th 07. I casually mentioned the comment above, querying if all Morris Dancers were called "Morris" to one of the dancers? He smiled and replied "PULL THE OTHER ONE IT'S GOT BELLS ON!!!"

  • I love it...Englands traditional pagan equivalent to Tribal north American indians rain dance for good harvest. Loveit.

  • sharp as always little voice

  • I most definitely made this little video at the unearthly hour ~ 6am on May Day 2007 and am still trying to recover! I would have uploaded it onto YouTube even faster if I had the expertise, as this is my VERY FIRST VIDEO on here! Also the dancers do not all have to be called Morris, just as RAP dancers do not have to be called RAP!! (LMAO)

  • Interesting. I can barely believe you posted this only a few hours after it happened.

  • do they all have to be called morris to be able to join in,um
