@WhatUGawkinAt If you know it is only a belief and not factual information, than how can you still believe it? Why not find inspiration from within? We have everything we need inside of us. Why project our selves and our longings onot some undefinable gods or forces? Why not simply accept things as they in fact are?
@777Atum That's what I do..I choose to further my understanding on things we know..but some people believe in someone else that is in control and i that makes them feel better i guess.
At first I thought all intelligent people could apply critical thinking towards their beliefs. However, I know some "book smart" people who have never re-analyzed their core beliefs. Some people live their entire lives without ever questioning why they believe what they believe.
Granted, I am not absolving the South for it's role in slavery. Slavery was a terrible awful thing. But, the South was not alone. The last New Jersey slave was not actually freed until after Lincoln's death. A full two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, 20 years after the state abolished it, and in a Union State no less. LOOK IT UP! New Jersey census of 1865 lists slaves as taxable property.
Actually, the Civil War was not fought over slavery! The Southern States suceeded because of trade restrictions and price fixing of agricultural goods. Why else would there have been a blockade of southern shipping ports before the conflict. The slavery arguement comes to us from the Missouri Compromise and the bloody conflicts along the Kansas border. If slavery were the reason, the war technically started Nov 21, 1855 with the Wakarusa War in Lawrence, Kansas. History is written by the victors
I'm ashamed to say I share a state with the Creation Museum. They've got people with saddles riding dinosaurs. This doesn't uphold to science or the Bible.

Just to clarify, the civil war really wasn't about slavery. It's a really common fairy tale in America to romanticise it as the North fighting for the rights of man.
@DominoGray it was a half/half battle. The south controlled agriculture and they were gonna break apart so the North was all like, fuck no and decided to fight the south for the rights of man aka freedom for slaves so that the south couldnt use slave labor. either way we ended slavery

@GermanChocolateCake Good chance the satire of that part was lost on me... ;) Nevertheless, one can only hope the fanatics of the three abrahamic faiths (or every faith out there) kill each other, so the moderates and non-theists are safe from harm from that side of hunamity. ;)
To everyone, I have sent AKstraightedge a message that provides 51 examples of transitional forms. He has promised $1500 if I could name 50 or me. PM me for a copy of the message and a screen shot of the comment for proof.
Gee... I wonder if Rollins knows that, during the Civil War, the North had slaves like the South, and the Emancipation Proclemation didn't affect the slaves owned by the North. I respect his freedom of speech, but he should know what he's talking about before he rants about it on his show. The 20 people who watch it are being mislead.
@Cappy714 The Missouri Compromise of 1820 outlawed slavery north of the 36°30' parallel. The only states not affected by the Emancipation Proclamation were Maryland and West Virginia which had very few slaves compared to the rest of the south.
all it boils down to is neither side can disprove the other. they just both claim their side has been proven "beyond reasonable doubt". both sides claim the other side is irrational, stupid, and "wont listen to reason". then theres christian evolutionists. who say both groups are right. and everyone hates them. eventually we should just get the fuck over ourselves and stop trying to tell other people what to believe. that goes for both sides.
@AKstraightedge Exactly. Let's believe what we want to believe and stop fighting like children. In the mean time, how the fuck did this guy get a television show? The world has enough hyped up assholes screaming their opinions. No more Rollins for me.
@AKstraightedge it may seem that way, but one side legitimately has the science on their side and the other doesn't. If there were still people in the world(and they're probably are)who believe that the world is still flat, no one would give them any sort of serious consideration. If creationists prefer to teach their kids Middle Eastern mythology rather than fact, more power to them, I just prefer they do it in their own schools and without my tax dollars.
@TheGreaterGood80 and yet everyone, including scientists, believed that the world was flat back in the day. and now you just equated "disproven" with "implausible" and as much as the scientific community is loathe to admit it. creationism hasnt been disproven. there are creationists who believe in evolution. which is harder to believe, that everything came from a giant explosion of elements that we have no explanation of why or where they came from? or that a giant invisible guy created
@AKstraightedge Certainly not "everyone" believed in the flat earth idea, although the Judeo-Christian and Islamic nations did. The scientific community today does not necessarily carry a sense of guilt over the widespread belief in a flat earth, as most scientists in Christendom were driven underground and those opinions were espoused by clerics and leaders on uneducated masses. Yes, creationism has been disproven. Need evidence? Ok, nipples on men....
@TheGreaterGood80 you completely ignored my statement about evolution failing to answer the specific question: "where did the elements come from". because science, for all its marvels, has completely failed to answer that question. creationism has at least answered it, regardless of how silly you may think the answer is. and theres still no "evidence" against ID. theres "evidence" for evolution. but that doesnt disprove people who believe in both intelligent design and evolution now does it>?
@AKstraightedge Just because science can't answer something right now isn't proof of god or creationism. Creationists haven't answered anything, you need evidence for it to be a theory (or a good theory anyway.) Nobody needs to provide proof against ID as there is no proof for it (I can't prove there are no forest fairies, but I don't need to as nobody can provide evidence that they exist).
@spicyhippoplankton im not saying its proof of god or creationism. im saying "not proven" and "disproven" are two completely different things. and yet scientists claim ID has been disproven. and yet other scientists believe in it. all im saying is it has never been disproven. lack of proof does not mean something doesnt exist. and we shouldnt go around saying that thats what it means. scientists are wrong a lot of the time too. for example, carbon dating was recently proved extremely innacurate
@AKstraightedge Unfortunately, a lot of the arguments for ID don't rely on evidence (often relies on belief, faith, 'how could it be otherwise' or god be default arguments). It might never be disproven, but might or has been shown to be highly unlikely. I agree with you about the not proven vs disproven. I may have misunderstood you, thank you for clarifying.
@spicyhippoplankton yeah. my main reason for saying anything is that i think people should stop directing so much hate towards people whos beliefs havent been disproven. and focus on hating people that are truly ignorant. ie racists, nationalists, patriots, and pretty much any way of thinking that ends in "ist" or "ism". but maybe thats just me.
@AKstraightedge the point is that creationists and proponents of ID are truly ignorant. in principle, creation science and ID can't be disproven but that is exactly why they aren't science. there is no such thing as absolute certainty so science relies on falsifiability of theories. evolution can be falsified. creationist arguments are in principle unfalsfiable so they aren't science. you are truly ignorant
@Itsrothytime since lack of evidence seems to be "credible" enough to "disprove" creationism, id like to point out one thing. actually 2 things. theres lots of cases of absolute certainty. for instance. the freezing and boiling point of elements. so your absolute certainty not existing bullshit just goes out the window. also for supposedly millions of years of evolution, science has churned out a mindblowingly tiny amount of pre-human remains. well under a thousand. given that the earth is
@AKstraightedge wow! did you even read my comment? i said that creationism is not falsifiable (i.e. it can't be disproven). actually, boiling point and freezing point of materials changes in different physical conditions and is totally dependent on the environment. it is anything but absolutely certain. however, that is not what i was saying. i was addressing the philosophical point of absolute certainty (science never claims absolute certainty and relies upon tentative answers i.e. theories)
@AKstraightedge logic is also a part of philosophy but i don't see you arguing that philosophy is science. arguing with an idiot like you is a waste of time so i'm gonna leave you alone now just like your mom did. it's a shame your priest didn't
@AKstraightedge haha i'm terrible at this? you couldn't argue yourself out of a paper bag you alaskan twat. and i'm not descended from apes, i am an ape and proud of it. so you are you. you should accept it. nothing i said was illogical.
@AKstraightedge as a working scientist, what i said is true. humans are apes. in a narrow sense, yes, we descended from apes (surely, not in the sense you meant) but we also descended from eukarya, animals, chordates, mammals, and placental mammals.
@Itsrothytime all placental mammals are descended from placental mammals. placental mammals are mammals. mammals are chordates. mammals are animals. all animals and plants are eukaryotes. you clearly understand childbirth. but your incredibly redundant comment leads me to believe you dont know very much about the theory of evolution which you so vehemently defend. which means you probably dont know very much about intelligent design either.
@AKstraightedge i never said anything about fossils but the fossil record is replete with examples of transitional forms. for example, tiktalik roseae (check my spelling, it's a latin name) which is believed to be the transition from water to land animals. the current scientific consensus is that the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. you seem completely scientifically illiterate and uneducated. try reading a bit. SCIENCE BITCH, IT WORKS!!!
@Itsrothytime youre incredibly ignorant. what you said has nothing to do with the fact that if millions of samples exist, wed have found more than a few dozen. usually when a scientist comes forward with something that challenges everything. he has more than one or 2 examples to prove it. also you gave absolutely no facts to back up what you just said. you cant just say "the consensus is" and expect anyone to take you seriously. i will personally wire you $1,500 if you can provide 50 or more
@TheGreaterGood80 everything? they both sound ludicrous. and since science has proven that *something* cannot come from *nothing*. where did the big bang come from? "the elements were always there" is the answer i always get. just like "god was always there" is the answer from creationists. you cannot honestly say throwing an invisible all powerful being into one makes it sound more absurd than the other. but at least one has to be true. theyre both pretty incredible claims.
@AKstraightedge Nope, one sounds ridiculous, the other sounds like sound science. The broader international scientific community accepted evolution long ago. It is mainly in Christian-obsessed America where a "debate" continues to rage on. You won't hear about creationists in Japan or Switzerland or Austria debating creationism. Evolution has been proven testable and verifiable, with plenty of evidence. If you truly think they are two sides of the same coin, you might want to do some research.
.Jaded, non-sequitor from a populist that obviously is using Creationism as an excuse not to read the Bible. All the evolution in the world does not change the Word of God, and does not contradict but in one assertion: That man is an ape. God formed man from the ground, not the other ways around. This is sort of ironic that the proponents of man's supposed bestial origins would proport erudition or despise the only religion that made historians of men. Hate it? Try Fascism. That is fitting here.
I ask this as an atheist. Do you enjoy fantasy films? Or enjoy fairy tale stories? I am no atheist but not a religious nut either. Just want to get an idea of how an atheist enjoys their stories and such
The mere articulation of an idea, as erudite, is only because the empowered few can ram isms down peoples throat. The Bible is more true than most people give it credit for, and as for objectivity, The belief in evolution is not precluded in the Bible, saving for the creation of Man, in the image and likeness of God. It stands to reason that if man is LIKE God, His image is immutable, and "theory" is not the fact that the Bible purports to be, The Word of God, over 3,000 times. Did you hear?
Agree with MephistoCafe, I could listen to this guy for days. No, you don't have to agree with everything he says, but it is refreshing to see someone with a camera pointed at him, speak with some intelligence.
@pbrskater26 Speaking of IQ's dropping sharply; it's "than" not "then." And it's "magically" not "magicly"... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on "irratinal." I figure that was a harmless typo.
I love Rollins but he's wrong about the Civil War. It was never about slavery. Lincoln never mentioned slavery until a year or so after the war had already started. Much like the Iraq war started over WMD's...but transformed itself mysteriously into fighting for "Iraqi Freedom". Once the people get smart and realize the reason for a war is a lie "the powers that be" simply come up with a new reason for the people to get behind. It's absolutely funny shit to watch if you know what's happening.
@NailgunDeath Lincoln did plenty of talking about the slavery issue. In fact, he worded speeches when he was in the south to denote that he was pro-segregation and slavery. The Civil War, like any other war, had a lot of causes. Slavery was definitely on the agenda.
Of course. I mean, the holy bible, the word of "God" as handed down to man (and God is perfect what with being omnipotent and all so he wouldn't ever be "wrong" about anything ever) was so divinely perfect and immutable that it obviously needed an assload of re-writes and edits where the concepts/subjects need constant modification and alteration because even omnipotent perfect divine beings can't get it right the first time (or 20). *facepalm*
LOL I love Self righteous old punks Their just as bad as the people they speak out against ! LMAOF.

Cappy714 1 year ago

AKstraightedge 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge Exactly. Let's believe what we want to believe and stop fighting like children. In the mean time, how the fuck did this guy get a television show? The world has enough hyped up assholes screaming their opinions. No more Rollins for me.
BillyJimmyBobbyTimmy 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge it may seem that way, but one side legitimately has the science on their side and the other doesn't. If there were still people in the world(and they're probably are)who believe that the world is still flat, no one would give them any sort of serious consideration. If creationists prefer to teach their kids Middle Eastern mythology rather than fact, more power to them, I just prefer they do it in their own schools and without my tax dollars.
TheGreaterGood80 1 year ago
@TheGreaterGood80 and yet everyone, including scientists, believed that the world was flat back in the day. and now you just equated "disproven" with "implausible" and as much as the scientific community is loathe to admit it. creationism hasnt been disproven. there are creationists who believe in evolution. which is harder to believe, that everything came from a giant explosion of elements that we have no explanation of why or where they came from? or that a giant invisible guy created
AKstraightedge 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge Certainly not "everyone" believed in the flat earth idea, although the Judeo-Christian and Islamic nations did. The scientific community today does not necessarily carry a sense of guilt over the widespread belief in a flat earth, as most scientists in Christendom were driven underground and those opinions were espoused by clerics and leaders on uneducated masses. Yes, creationism has been disproven. Need evidence? Ok, nipples on men....
TheGreaterGood80 1 year ago
@TheGreaterGood80 you completely ignored my statement about evolution failing to answer the specific question: "where did the elements come from". because science, for all its marvels, has completely failed to answer that question. creationism has at least answered it, regardless of how silly you may think the answer is. and theres still no "evidence" against ID. theres "evidence" for evolution. but that doesnt disprove people who believe in both intelligent design and evolution now does it>?
AKstraightedge 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge Just because science can't answer something right now isn't proof of god or creationism. Creationists haven't answered anything, you need evidence for it to be a theory (or a good theory anyway.) Nobody needs to provide proof against ID as there is no proof for it (I can't prove there are no forest fairies, but I don't need to as nobody can provide evidence that they exist).
spicyhippoplankton 1 year ago
@spicyhippoplankton im not saying its proof of god or creationism. im saying "not proven" and "disproven" are two completely different things. and yet scientists claim ID has been disproven. and yet other scientists believe in it. all im saying is it has never been disproven. lack of proof does not mean something doesnt exist. and we shouldnt go around saying that thats what it means. scientists are wrong a lot of the time too. for example, carbon dating was recently proved extremely innacurate
AKstraightedge 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge Unfortunately, a lot of the arguments for ID don't rely on evidence (often relies on belief, faith, 'how could it be otherwise' or god be default arguments). It might never be disproven, but might or has been shown to be highly unlikely. I agree with you about the not proven vs disproven. I may have misunderstood you, thank you for clarifying.
spicyhippoplankton 1 year ago
@spicyhippoplankton yeah. my main reason for saying anything is that i think people should stop directing so much hate towards people whos beliefs havent been disproven. and focus on hating people that are truly ignorant. ie racists, nationalists, patriots, and pretty much any way of thinking that ends in "ist" or "ism". but maybe thats just me.
AKstraightedge 1 year ago
@AKstraightedge the point is that creationists and proponents of ID are truly ignorant. in principle, creation science and ID can't be disproven but that is exactly why they aren't science. there is no such thing as absolute certainty so science relies on falsifiability of theories. evolution can be falsified. creationist arguments are in principle unfalsfiable so they aren't science. you are truly ignorant
Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime since lack of evidence seems to be "credible" enough to "disprove" creationism, id like to point out one thing. actually 2 things. theres lots of cases of absolute certainty. for instance. the freezing and boiling point of elements. so your absolute certainty not existing bullshit just goes out the window. also for supposedly millions of years of evolution, science has churned out a mindblowingly tiny amount of pre-human remains. well under a thousand. given that the earth is
AKstraightedge 10 months ago
@AKstraightedge wow! did you even read my comment? i said that creationism is not falsifiable (i.e. it can't be disproven). actually, boiling point and freezing point of materials changes in different physical conditions and is totally dependent on the environment. it is anything but absolutely certain. however, that is not what i was saying. i was addressing the philosophical point of absolute certainty (science never claims absolute certainty and relies upon tentative answers i.e. theories)
Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime examples of the fossil you just claimed is so fucking important. also. 2 + 2 = 4. absolute certainty once again.

Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime youre terrible at this. but you have proven one thing, clearly, you are descended from apes.
AKstraightedge 10 months ago
@AKstraightedge haha i'm terrible at this? you couldn't argue yourself out of a paper bag you alaskan twat. and i'm not descended from apes, i am an ape and proud of it. so you are you. you should accept it. nothing i said was illogical.
Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime except for claiming to believe in evolution and yet denying the present state of it in the same sentence.
AKstraightedge 10 months ago
@AKstraightedge as a working scientist, what i said is true. humans are apes. in a narrow sense, yes, we descended from apes (surely, not in the sense you meant) but we also descended from eukarya, animals, chordates, mammals, and placental mammals.
Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime all placental mammals are descended from placental mammals. placental mammals are mammals. mammals are chordates. mammals are animals. all animals and plants are eukaryotes. you clearly understand childbirth. but your incredibly redundant comment leads me to believe you dont know very much about the theory of evolution which you so vehemently defend. which means you probably dont know very much about intelligent design either.
AKstraightedge 10 months ago
@AKstraightedge i never said anything about fossils but the fossil record is replete with examples of transitional forms. for example, tiktalik roseae (check my spelling, it's a latin name) which is believed to be the transition from water to land animals. the current scientific consensus is that the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. you seem completely scientifically illiterate and uneducated. try reading a bit. SCIENCE BITCH, IT WORKS!!!
Itsrothytime 10 months ago
@Itsrothytime youre incredibly ignorant. what you said has nothing to do with the fact that if millions of samples exist, wed have found more than a few dozen. usually when a scientist comes forward with something that challenges everything. he has more than one or 2 examples to prove it. also you gave absolutely no facts to back up what you just said. you cant just say "the consensus is" and expect anyone to take you seriously. i will personally wire you $1,500 if you can provide 50 or more
AKstraightedge 10 months ago
@TheGreaterGood80 everything? they both sound ludicrous. and since science has proven that *something* cannot come from *nothing*. where did the big bang come from? "the elements were always there" is the answer i always get. just like "god was always there" is the answer from creationists. you cannot honestly say throwing an invisible all powerful being into one makes it sound more absurd than the other. but at least one has to be true. theyre both pretty incredible claims.
AKstraightedge 1 year ago

I love Rollins but he's wrong about the Civil War. It was never about slavery. Lincoln never mentioned slavery until a year or so after the war had already started. Much like the Iraq war started over WMD's...but transformed itself mysteriously into fighting for "Iraqi Freedom". Once the people get smart and realize the reason for a war is a lie "the powers that be" simply come up with a new reason for the people to get behind. It's absolutely funny shit to watch if you know what's happening.
NailgunDeath 1 year ago

*facepalm*
