I love both Kathy's.... No I take that back. I love all of the Griffins and crew in this episode. Everyone was so open minded and caring and open to change and sweet. This is good reality t.v. without all of the petty fights (though I love a good wine thrown in someones face)...

She has a very small blk audience so it's hard for blk ppl 2 b mad at her when they probably have never heard of her. I REALLY admire Atlanta Kathy for getting up on that stage and doing that TV show. That's hard even for many pros. And she opened up to new people and experiences, which is something too few people do well. I give her a ton of credit. I'll bet she was relieved to get back home after all that!

Hey you! What does it mean to look like a rich black woman? I ask because several of the friends that watched with me said the same thing (we're in NYC). I mean, she didn't wear expensive jewelry or clothes so what made her look rich? The outside of her house does look like a mansion, however.

1) I love the non-celeb Kathy Griffin (GAKG for Georgia Kathy Griffin, as opposed to CKG for Comedian Kathy Griffin) because she's like many of my black female friends and co-workers: Religious and church-going yet open-minded and full of love. This demographic is common around me because I used to work in AIDS. To work or volunteer in AIDS, you'd have to be accepting of gays and that is certainly the case with these wonderful women.

2) GAKG already seemed like an educated and tolerant person before this show so the producers had it easy. It's not like she was a Bible-thumper or rabid homophobe. Like many heterosexuals, she just hadn't been exposed to many gays in real life. But what made her special was her willingness to learn. In fact, her entire family seemed highly educated and real cool. I mean, the husband was sensitive enough to wear a lavender shirt (the "official" gay color!) and weep at the comedy club! (39.30)

3) CKG had it easy because the producers didn't risk placing her in a Black church. Some Blacks may not have forgiven her 2007 speech where she said that Jesus was in no way responsible for her Emmy. That offended some Blacks, who tend to thank God/Jesus after winning. Many celebrities soon bought an ad to protest Griffin's speech. She later explained that with all that's going on, why would God/Jesus interfere with an award competition? Would that even be fair? She made perfect sense.

4) After disrupting GAKG's family's lives, I hope that she (or the show) was generous enough to give the sons some money to move out. Anyway, it's a stupid show with a stupid premise, but enjoyed it anyway.

Anyway the whole premise of the show is to supposedly show how people change in different environments while some celebrities get a little more media coverage. Obviously they wouldnt want to stir a lot of controversy. That's why they chose a Christian with a "mild" personality.

It's not a competition about who had it worse in the process.
