oscars can grow to up to 8" in year and a maxsize of about 12" if not more, so sorry to say it would be a bad idea.you could get a juvi but you should be prepared to have to upgrade your tank in the long run.
yeah oscars arent usally that agressive. i have one in a 125g with much smaller tank mates. he is prob 8 to inches. the next biggest is four inches...he doesnt bother any of them
WOW nice beautiful fish, I wish i could get some oscars but i cant get a big tank cause i am in a rental house. Btw chile are you in any aquarium websites/forums?
nice O. very bright coloration. I agree about the sadistic-ness you speak of in the other video ... I just thought Os were more accurate than that as well ... I could only watch a few moments of it, it seemed liked torture to the frog.
real nice what size is your tank?

how does the severum do with the oscar
titiestothemax 3 years ago
they've been togther for quite awhile now, except for some mild bickering, they do very well.
Sevs usually do well as tankamtes for Os, unless the O is really a obnoxious bastard.

@chilerelleno My Rotkeil severum 5inch kicks the crap out of my 16inch Clown Knifefish and my 21inch silver arowana XD

Oscar pellets, bloodworms, and beefhearts, and dried mealworms. Stay away from feeder fish and actual meat.

im suprised that the keyhole hasnt been eaten yet but ur oscar is very nice
bidingm1tim3 4 years ago
The Keyhole was never in with the Oscar/Sev.
I managed to acquire a compatible female and the pair of Keyholes are now happily breeding in a 55gal SA community.
I'll load some video of'em.
