  • "MATT DAMON."

  • This guy is ADORABLE I absolutely adore him. I hope to see more of this guy.

  • OMG what a creep! He says: "Things like global warming affect food prices, massive droughts...fires in Russia...", on why food and oil are removed from calculation of core inflation. You know what else affects prices, asshole? When the government prints a shitload of money and gives it to Wall Street speculators who then corner the commodities markets and hold them HOSTAGE until their price demands are met. You fucking GOOF!

  • 28:00 - one of the reasons they're attacking teachers is because the reich-wing has an anti-education agenda. They're spending a lot of time and effort labelling education as it stands a 'liberal' and 'socialist' in order to get cretins to believe that the universally accepted concepts of science and history are somehow lies. Hence Texas erasing facts from their history books and claiming that slavery was beneficial, etc. They want to remove real science from the classrooms & teach religion.

  • who writes the subtitles for this? "jack"? really?

  • this guy is a loser....so is that other fat guy.

  • Ask yourselves how the Fed buys debt ???

it prints money lowering the value of the dollar in your pockets i think the U.S owes the federal reserve 1.3 trillion dollars and will pay it back money thats just made not worked for with the savings of americans. if you refuse to pay back the illegitimate money fed has injected into the system you have a 1.3 trillion dollar cut right there. The rest of the world is getting sick of the dollar and leaving it and are starting up bilateral trade agreements

  • @mohhamza

LOL! 1.3 trillion dollars is a ROFL low estimate! America has a long history of not paying their debts, so why are they trying to now? Austerity. Austerity is the latest weapon in the Wall Street speculators vs. the middle class savers war that is being fought right now. Austerity will take away everything the middle class owns.

We are now entering the neo-feudalist era.

  • @jonhdoehe1 iam just talking about the debt to the fed and your right if things keep going this way the middle class will be destroyed (whats left of it anyway)

  • I am taking a shot at being smart her ! ;p at 30:06 isnt what he said ( the example ) kind of supporting the communist ideal ....reply please ;p

  • can we put austerity measures on the rich, the stock brokers, big banks, and the defense department. they are the reason why america is in the dumps!!

  • More dude with glasses, less bimbos, no Republicans in Congress.

  • But in 2005-2006 we had 5% unemployment, and for most of 2007 we steadily rose to about 7%, then about 9%-10% in 2008 by election time(Though truer estimates give 15-16% unemployment) so how can what Sam Ceder says be accurate? It might be true that there we no job creation, I don't know, 7 years ago I was less mature enough to care, but once 2006 was over, you can't blame Repubs, Dems had House and Senate.

My Impression: Ceder has an agenda to push. A Democrat agenda, not a democratic one.

  • I hate the fact that, in school, you aren't allowed to ask questions just because you don't know how to ask it appropriately. The teachers just send you to the office because you can't say it right. I've seen it a thousand times, I've talked to them and they REALLY didn't know how to say it right. I had to teach them how to say it appropriately and I'm the same age as them. Teachers are good people but some of them are just too impatient.

  • @thewarriorhuntress I remember once in Algebra class, we were learning about Logarithms, aka "Logs" and after the teacher finished explaining that day's Log, one of the students raised his hand and asked "When are we ever gonna use this?", and the teacher said "You're staying after class!", without answering his question. Then next year, in a different teacher's class, another student asked the same question about a lesson, and she said "You aren't, but I have to teach it to you anyway."

  • @imlaughing2death Education is for education sake- especially from k-12. After all if everything was about use- we wouldn't teach history as almost no one uses it at work(unless you are a historian).

  • Matt Damon is right...corporations and the rich are HOARDERS...they should be on A&E with the rest of them!

  • Ahhhh...Sam the cooking guy. Nice.

  • Teachers in my area of Pa make 83k per year and don't pay anything into thier healthcare, and have thier healthcare for life.

  • @12es16 that is a lie

  • @Yayoballer maple point middle school, bucks county pa.look it up.

  • as soon as im old enough im moving to sweden

  • Society would do sooo much better if everyone had equal opportunity in education. It's what makes some smart people think they're dumb and therefor don't reach their true potential.

  • 1.8 million jobs in 2012 lmao everybody gonna be dead by then i diots

  • yes finally some adults realize that school is pointless! how is know about cells gonna help me in life or knowing what foods china produces gonna help me in life?

  • I like this Sam Seder guy. He has a command of the facts and, while passionate, does not indulge in theatrics. A lot of the other hosts that TYT has been test driving were more about rhetoric and a few had distasteful personalities. This guy works and would make a worthy addition.

  • @sonoki82 I agree.

  • I am loving how TYT is developing. Fuck Msnbc - pointless and boring ass journalists. This is so much better.

  • All i learn in school is how to pass standardized tests, pass quizzes, the only class where i really learn is spanish! not to mention the fact that *everything* we learn in science and english is worthless.

  • @LilTom895 I hated school, but you’re some kinda of dumbass. You need english to I don't know to learn to read and write you stupid shit. I get science is a bit above you but all the shit you use each day comes from science. Unless you want to be born into jobs, we need school. Now if you pointed to more advanced math ok. A basic math class would do until you decide that you need to take more advanced one for the job you want.

  • @sixthsonofsevensins do i need to know about silicate structures? soil composition? the Mohs hardness scale? unconformities? erosion? will i use that at all?? Romeo and Juliet?? ( I can read and write by now) yea,i get good grades so i can get work, but its just kind of sad that i wont use any of the stuff im memorizing anywhere besides that class...

  • @LilTom895 No You don't need all that stuff. I will say first that you probably learned to read at school. Second if you're not exposed to things outside your family traditions, you'll end up a poor copy of your parents. A kid doesn’t know whats good for them, you sometimes have to force a kid to do something till they see the good in it(taking a bath). Unless you want a guy to go around saying "he looks smart teach him about science, the rest look dumb so they don’t need to learn shit".

  • This guy is good. He should be on more often.

  • 33:20 - Spot On!!!!

  • Obama is in a weak bargaining position. Therefore, he simply has to remain cordial to the Republican-Tea Party. Because of this, it appears that he loves the deal, when in all possibility, he hates it. It goes against everything that he has ever written or said he stood for. However, I do believe that the Tea Party no longer can gain supporters. Without growth, they will whither and die away.

  • Damn we need Cenk back - these two are fucked

  • Printing money does create inflation. That is basic economics. I would not call these people "right wing wackos" or whatever. You contradicted yourself buy saying the Inflation rate is essentially calculated on bogus factors. Maybe I mis understood you. I hope so.

  • Sam does not even come close to Cenk.

  • This is ridiculous. I'm here to get in depth news about some very major events going on in the economy and TYT is turning to Matt Damon to see what he has to say about it? How about actually trying to educate your viewers with an actual economist or someone with the requisite knowledge instead of insulting our intelligence with celebrity opinions. I like Matt Damon and he's very intelligent but there's no way you couldn't find someone with an actual sound basis of scholarship to comment.

  • This gu isnbetter than the other fill in who relates everything to the holocaust

  • "Maaaaatt Daaaamon"

  • what does he meen by fig leaf?

  • Ana is so lost at everything Sam Seder says.. He may as well be talking in spanish to her

  • @deathByStupid Republicans and the majority of Democrats want to privatize everything and incorporate America. That is their mission.

  • love Matt Damon

  • It's very difficult to cover Cenk's place on the show and match his level, but this guy done very well. Good job man.

  • Unlike the rest of you I welcome the new president from our new corporate oligarchy.

All hail the ambassador from Frito Lay! Doritos in exchange for your checks!

    yumm..

  • This guys seems so cynical, he thinks that the right wingers have some devious master plan to undermine poor people. It is completely idiotic, right wingers simply believe that the government is inefficient at spending money and they can make wiser decision for themselves. In addition why should you pay for your kids school AND for the neighbours kids public school

As for Matts point, it is crap, just because you love teaching doesnt make you good at it, better teachers should get paid more.

  • @deathByStupid Because humans are defined less by their individualism than by the communities they build. Keeping the poor from access to the arts and education is a hallmark of 3rd world countries. People who are wealthy enough to only require one income so the other parent can stay home and home school are rare. But keeping people ignorant is about the worst, most un-American thing you can do.

  • @mexcurmudgeon Such a short post, yet you managed to make no sense.

1st making the poor rich, makes the rich richer, countries that prevent education do it to prevent people questioning authority, to stay in power.

2nd people are more likely to work if they are rich, it is the poor who cannot afford child services and thus look after their kids.

3rd the most unamerican thing to do is being a nanny state for the people, if people want to be ignorant that is their choice.

  • No economist will argue that growth is the solution to solving massive public debt, if the debt reaches a certain level then interest becomes a massive burden.

Spending on medicare/medicade also does not stimulate the economy as much as low/middle income tax cuts for people who spend all money available to them, it mainly benefits old timers.

That doesnt mean tax rates can't temporarily increased on high income earners, but that money should go to the debt, not be spent.

  • Matt Damon, 100% right, 0% wrong on tenure.

  • Obama's Brain: "Ok, I'm in the White House, let's start fixing this crap. Oh? That bad?! There's no way to fix this!!! Alright, might as well make the Republicans happy because this cause of mine's pretty hopeless and having them happy is better than having no one be happy."

  • TYT erroneously see the issue as Dems verse the Repubs, good and evil. Once we fall down that fallacy of argument dichotomy, Reason loses out everytime. Be Libertarian, it is the most humanitarian and compassionate thing we can do. Legislating equality, fairness is called communism or fascism. I choose Liberty. RP 2012

  • @bdmenne i know your trying to be patriotic but it isnt working

  • @bdmenne Can you explain to me how, under Libertarianism, the wealthiest and most powerful corporations are prevented from pillaging the masses?

  • Matt Damon is a flippant and arrogant thinker, believing that his understandings are completely valid and beyond reproach. Any time someone answers a question with an indignant attitude, beware, be curious that they are not coming from a place of reasoning. Reasoning does not need fuel from emotions to be asserted. Haven't you heard "Beware a Charismatic leader!"

  • This guy really works well with TYT. He voices his opinion much like Cenk.

  • Geeze! And to think I used to call myself a Liberal. These good intentioned ignorant big government supporters have no idea that they allow for our violent empire supporting a Big Brother Government in the first place. Thinking our government, can, would or should take care of us, is a complete fantastical Delusion! Keep begging for you Entitlements, until our country goes bankrupt. Ron Paul 2012

  • @bdmenne The president doesnt have the power to make laws because he/she wants to make laws

  • @splicedenergy okay?? I'm not sure if I get your whole picture. Can you elaborate?

  • TYT please do a segment on ALEK. Good show.

  • An August 1 clip, and an August 3 clip, but no August 2 clip?

  • America was a democracy. It has gradually morphed into a plutocracy. The Romans would be proud. At least they could blame their craziness on lead water pipes.

  • @menthol5 Oh, ours can be blamed on: High fructose corn syrup, smog, aspartame, McDonald s, Burger King, MSG, etc. We have our seemingly unnecessary self poisonings as well lol.

  • @SilverMahouShinobi The plutocrats benefit from the peasents blaming themselves for what is being done to them. All the stuff you mention is in commercials everywhere you look.

  • @menthol5 Oh, don't get me wrong I understand all to well about the misinformation thats disseminated 24/7 365. I was just pointing out some things that we do that is similar to the lead poisonings of Rome. I realize, fully, that most people don't really know what's happening to them and that its not their fault.

  • The Super Congress can super suck my balls.

  • When will TYT get a spot on Current? i love TYT and Current, they would greatly benefit from having the TYT army behind them. Keith Olbermann cant do it all on his own!!!

  • Matt Damon went to Harvard! so yeah, he's smart!

  • I come here for the Young Turk, and instead I get the Young Jerk.

  • no i don't want to sign barack's birthday card

  • Matt Damon rocks!! Friggen awesome.

  • When giants fall many little people get crushed!

  • I once assaulted someone while in history class, my teacher buried his head in his newspaper and never mentioned the bleeding, crying kid in the back. He had tenure.

  • @ryanmail2004 Yeah, the problem there is the teacher. That or the psycho that is attacking people. It doesn't matter though, because like all conservative stories this is a lie.

  • @rangers1919 lol im a liberal and it is not a lie. he was an alcoholic and never taught for 1 single minute. we had workbooks that never got checked. welcome to brooklyn

  • Bernanke specifically and repeatedly has said that he is directing the Feds to bolster inflation and prevent deflation. Why not allow for deflation so that the market could correct itself, more people could afford to buy more, and then businesses would begin to hire as demand increases?

What this economy needs is major deflation after the Bush bubble that was based on an inflated housing market and foolish mortgage borrowing so that middle class could pretend it was a part of the upperclass.

  • talks too much liek a sports commentator

  • keep sam!!!!

  • Some of the people who dislike the rich are jealous of their privilege. The fact is they have money and we don't. We are not entitled to their money, hard earned or not.

The reason they are cutting corners and cheating is because their taxes are higher than the lower and middle class. Maybe they think their taxes should be the same. In short they are fighting back against unfair high taxes.

  • Corporate lobbies have their hands deep in the pockets of Congress.

It makes me sad that hard working people like my parents( I'm still in high school) and other Americans get shit on while these so called elected people try to "protect our right".

    Fuck the elite. Workers unite!

  • In the last 3 weeks we've had a taste of Eskow, Dore, Dupuy, TV's Frank, and now this new gem.

Keep it up, TYT, definitely keep it up.

  • This is the best host next to Cenk!!!! First time I have seen him.....

  • They always make us some name for these programs, this one should be called

Foreign United Congressional Keep Your Own Ultimately

    or F.U.C.K. Y.O.U. for short.

  • Holy eyebrows @ 2:41.

  • i never knew matt damon was so intelligent o.o good to see he actually gives a shit about people not making a shit load of money

  • @FailasaurusRex Between Damon, Clooney, and Pitt, there's a whole lot of good done for people as a whole.

It's a shame that they're the exception and not the rule.

  • lmfao @ Jean Bonneair

  • Not to be a crazy tin-foil hat type but I think the elite see the reset of us as becoming increasingly irrelevant. They know that global warming, depletion of oil and other resources, and an exploding global population will destroy the world. They want most of us dead and the rest enslaved so that they can continue living at the same standard indefinitely. What else would be the point of what is going on?

  • @constructivist6 Not crazy at all. I think you are very clear headed.

  • corporate greed is going to kill the usa beware

  • I love this Sam guy!

  • This guy's good but I really enjoy seeing Cenk get pissed!

  • I didn't know Chris Prillo was on TYT.

  • Man crush on Sam Sedar

  • Damon is a douche

  • I'm starting to think that Super Congress was to remove the Tea Party from the debate, we shall soon see, though.

  • Pretty good, but I completely disagree about printing more money. That is a short term gain but absolutely causes inflation by very definition, and that benefits those who have stuff and can set their own salaries and hurts those who don't and can't.

We need more money flowing and the rich have too much of it. Tax them. Printing more money does the opposite, it makes them richer. This is one instance where the left is siding with the corporate bankers. The Fed Bank is NOT our friend.

  • @TheGiantRobot

depends. the USD won't be entering hyperinflation just because they print more money. Seeing that it is the reserve currency. If it hits the US then the world is in trouble. This is why the world is scared shitless at how ineffective, and shitty our policymakers are.

  • Matt Damon for president who's with me?

  • wow, the top two comments are quite appropriate. totally agree

  • I still can't wrap my head around how in the hell we got to the point of making cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Seriously, Paul Ryan was getting slammed so fucking hard for his proposal in the beginning and all the polls showed the people simply didn't want Medicare touched. What the fuck happened? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?

  • @trimx302

the tea party held the world hostage. we live in an era in America where extortion is now a valid political tactic.

  • Thank you Ana thats exactly what i've been saying, Joy Behar on her show has been covering the Warren Jeff story nd i kept thinkin ppl like him hold the pilygamous back its because of stories like this dat ppl feel a certain way bout polygamous cuz they think that all of them are like him nd participate in some kind of sect

  • SIX-FIVE with one abstention.

  • DOW FELL 500pts! Happy Birthday Obama... :(

  • Trippy, wasn't expecting Sam Seder

    (☞ ^ ヮ^)☞

  • I kinda disagree about reforming our schools. The school system sucks and it needs to change. I do agree that using that fact to attack unions is wrong. But painting the entire school reform movement as being supported by greedy bastards is just not correct.

  • "only 2 things are affected by inflation. Oil and food".

Except the price of oil affects everything else. how else do products get to the stores in the first place?

  • @RaabBlog

Yeah, Sam is on the wrong side of this. The inflation index is not real inflation - real inflation is out of control.

  • @RaabBlog who are you quoteing because thats not what the guy in the video said

  • @gzarza he says it at around 4:20- 4:28

  • @RaabBlog so i looked again and that quote isnt the same. he didnt say they werent affected by inflation he said they arent calculated in the basic inflation because these prices change for other factors such as global warming and disasters such as fires that destroy crops. of course they are affected by inflation because inflation is the rise in the price level of a "basket of goods"

  • @RaabBlog so i looked again and that quote isnt the same. he didnt say they were the only things affected by inflation he said they arent calculated in the basic inflation because these prices change for other factors such as global warming and disasters such as fires that destroy crops. of course other things are affected by inflation because inflation is the rise in the price level of a "basket of goods"

  • We won't get hyper inflation in a few days, but quite possibly within the next few years. If we are lucky that is.

  • Matt Damon is a hero and Sam Seder is delicious. :-)

  • his eyebrows look funny. lol

  • IN TIME looks fucking sick!

  • YANK

  • USA RIP!

  • Sam i Am I will not eat green eggs and ham!

  • BRING SAM on full time

  • I love Matt Damon

  • factory model of education, it produces a product: graduates

  • We were once a democracy; we are now a corporate oligarchy. When do we get the nation name change?

  • @ginesdepasamonte the united states of koch, gold sachs, exxon mobil, etc, etc. has the right ring to it.

  • @ginesdepasamonte Americorp

  • @ginesdepasamonte The United Corporations of America ?

  • @ginesdepasamonte No need for a name change - just "America - brought to you by Shell Oil!"

  • good host

  • @azarvash majority dot fm

  • i can't understand how american politicians let themselves get played by companies again and again. how about you FORCE national profits to be re-invested in companies? you're a country, right? show some leadership.

  • @homerfromhelI The problem is that the majority of these companies pay for the million dollar advertisements for these politicians. Without the money these politicians are using from these companies, they would not be elected into office.

  • @TerminalRhinoVirus "Without the money these politicians are using from these companies, they would not be elected into office." They would if the media reported who is running and what they stood for. Since the media are all owned by the same three corporations, we instead get distractions and advertisements for their products (Britney Spears' cootchie pics, etc). Obviously the corporate media are not going to help break the stranglehold of corporate lobbyists. That is our problem.

  • @rifter0x0000 Excellent point.

  • @homerfromhelI Because the politicians are in on it, Obama is in on it, the Dems are in on it, the deck is stacked. The "left side of the isle" pretends to be against these things, but they aren't, they're in on it.

  • wait tell me how injecting more cash into the economy artificially does not cause inflation eventually???

  • ADDICTED TO TYT :D

  • Sam should be a permanent addition to the show!

  • @Skavar4000 Sam has his own show, FYI. Check it out at majority.fm

  • He looks a little bit like Chris Pirillo...

  • The middle the class is an endangered species..... and no one in DC seems to care. How is any member of congress drawing a paycheck? Being paid to by us to fuck us over? Only in the giant toilet bowl known as DC.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that plays at 20:25 ?

  • Teachers make shitty salaries? In New york state teachers in suburban areas make 6 figures by the time they retire, and i know some who dont do jack shit after their tenure. It's a joke.

  • @billsdynasty09 A few teachers in some new york suburb compared to hundreds of thousands of teachers across the country.

    Nice sciencing, dipshit.

  • It sounds like they are implementing the opposite New Deal. Is there a way to sue the government for treason?

    Sam's the man.

  • I'm going to be a teacher. My grandmother, who is very conservative, thinks it's the dumbest choice of my life. I understand that I'm going to make almost no money. She thinks that's the only reason to do anything.

  • They need to teach critical thinking at school. Get kids to start questioning things and thinking for themselves. Give them the tools to analyze arguments and evaluate their beliefs. They should teach world history instead of focusing up on specific periods and on useless facts like what vases roman's had. They need to teach science as a method, explain how it emerged and why and why its important, not just get them to memorize a list of facts we've discovered through science etc.

  • @moyga Now why would they do that? Then they would have a nation of thinkers.

  • The change Obama was talking about was for him to move around the folding chairs on the Titanic. We need to primary Obama!!

  • Just a reminder...."Draw Blood from a Conservative Day," will be held everyday until our country is on the right track....

  • @RacerEckss Its a nice thought but by the time we get around to it we'll all be to weak to stand up. They got the guns and the money. We have the numbers. You know who wins.

  • good for india !

  • "Erst kommt das Fressen, dann die Moral."

    Bertold Brecht

  • 32:38 so many youth are complacent because they smoke pot

  • @rostant999 - or are they smoking pot because they are complacent?!

All the drug war BS was nothing more that trying to make the slave populace completely compliant. Its not enough to eat shit 9 to 5, your supposed to pee in a cup, submit to background checks and have good credit to work today. Did you ever stop to think the legal drug trade is far more damaging?

  • @pjamesbda you know that the drug war isnt just about pot right. and i gotta say if you think meth should be leagal then you need to lay off the drugs yourself. anyway my point is that the drug war isnt all bad. maybe some drugs should be legal but others deffinately should not.

  • @nateb212 - the drug war is so much like gun control it's frightening. I'll be you are a gun protagonist...well guns don't kill people. Neither do drugs. But both facilitate it.

The problem is the sickness, not the drugs. Same with the guns. Remove the impulse to kill, and the guns are useless. Create a fulfilled enviorment with true freedom of expression and drugs would disappear.

  • Comment removed

  • FYI Matt Damons mother IS a teacher also Howard Zinn was his next door neighbor growing up.

  • @jennincm All that may be true, but lets not forget that he then teamed-up with Ben Affleck ...HelLOO! O.o?

  • @THEHARMONIKZ and you teamed up with who???
