  • not an 8 year old kid...

  • Comment removed

  • Were did you get it.

  • do u know how to fix a havoc switchblade

  • me gustaria tener uno

  • dave, do u have any hoopskirt designs?

  • I just got a e-flight sr, after my msr bit the dust.

I also got the Phoenix rc simulator, and I'm glad I got the sim.

After about 100 flights, i got a stable hover, and now i'm working on moving in a direction without crashing.. :P

your video on the 9 tips really helped, and I hope to one day be as good as you in flying rc airplanes/helis

  • wish they would bring the storm launcher back

  • if you see a mini storm launcher dont buy it cuz the mini ones hav a heavy frame and fail crappy motors

  • I want one :D

  • is that the stock battery from air hogs

  • dose it come with the lipo battery?

  • this thing is great !!

  • fly baby fly ×D

  • Bought 6 of these at Walmart for 30 dollars each gave them away as gifts keep 2 for myself GREAT fun to fly

  • watch my videos too

is the iron man and razor micro r/c plane

    only $20

    how much is this thing???

  • i think i saw this for 29.99 at toys r us last time

  • wow that's loud

  • I MUST HAVE ONE!!!!!!!

  • lol isnt that a boat? xD

  • mine is the mini storm launcher and it wont go in the air if i try to do it off the ground and if i hand toss it it only goes about 3 feet in the air is there anyway to make it better?

  • thats gay i cant get mine to go that high

  • i EBayed stormlauncher, got zero hits

  • Well I did it... I bought my SL yesterday, the fullsize version. So excited to get it, still only flown a 3 channel, so this is an upgrade I guess.

  • my bad, I was thinking the big SL was a 4channel.

  • Congrats. Have fun with it.

  • omfg cool

  • excellent video, you two were having a blast and it was apparent.

  • Thank you much. Yep we have fun all right.

  • how many channels?(airlerons,elavators,etc.)

  • 3 channels. Elevator, Throttle and Motor mixing for steering. (simulated ailerons)

  • i have a storm launcher but im scared about taking apart my controller any tips?

how to make some storm lancher wings?

  • If you take it apart, take a picture, so you can refer to it when you put it back together. I made wings in one of MY SL vids, but they were from a model plane. They did not help that much and because SLs can steer or glide, if the motor is off, they can break off easily. They did not help that much on this machine. Good luck.

  • i heard it runs on lithiem polimer batteries.

  • That's true, just like cell phones and laptops.

  • thing is loud

  • why cant i see the video

    anyone want to chat Sc

  • do u have any rc cars

  • I have, but break them up much more than anything else I have.

  • Hi,

Iv just bought a storm launcher and the right motor does not work at all? why could this be and how should I fix it?

  • Bummer. Well a wire could be off inside the Fuse, the wire could be off the motor, the motor could be bad, the Speed controller could be bad. I would return it right away and not mess with trying to fix it. Sorry.

  • cool toy

  • Thanks.

  • SMART GAK

  • Hi Nightflyer, I've really gotten a hang of flying my storm launcher but I still have one hangup, what do you do about the lipo cut off point? Depending how high up I have it, I sometimes can't tell if it's losing power or not because it's still flying excellently, then it drops like a rock and I just pull back on the stick and hope. Surely there's a better way?

  • Hi, They dont glide at all, as you see. I usually slow the throttle to 3/4 and fly that way. I hate that battery cutoff circuit. It is supposed to keep the bat from discharging too far, which instantly ruins a LiPo. Maybe they will improve them. Hope so, as I really like them too. Also if the props are not spinning freely or the motor is tired, is puts strain on the circuit and it cuts off. Put a drop of 3 in one oil on the prop shaft and make sure there is no dirt or grass on the shaft.

  • Thanks for the reply, I usually fly only fly at half throttle to preserve battery life. I guessed as much that there's really nothing to do. I know there's remote audible alert systems out there for lipos, they really should've added something like that instead of just sending you plummeting. Storm launchers are great, but I fear they're going away as everywhere around me stopped stocking them, maybe I should buy another just in case.

  • i just got out of the shower and im still naked xD W

  • Great....you are also blocked for making such a stupid comment.

  • Well with over 127,000 views, I guess lots do! Gee!

  • hah good one! ;)

  • yh were do you get them

  • Spinmaster(.)com

  • ok thanx

  • were do you get the stock batterie

  • Walmart or Target, or ToysRUs or spinmaster(.)com

  • i have one

  • these are hard to fly... for those who don't know how to fly these type don't buy. I KNOW CAUSE I HAD ONE. YOU SEE PEOPLE FLYING THESE, THEY HAD TO ATLEAST BREAK 1 OR 3 OF EM... I KNOW, i had one!

  • Yep, difficult to learn on. I never broke any of mine, however. The motors simply wore out.

  • i had 1 it got pwned by a tree

  • Bummer. Lesson 1, don't fly into trees, eh?

  • you need to make a video of making paper airplane's!

  • how many channel radios do these use?

  • 3 channels. Throttle, Motor differential for steering, and elevator.

  • Are they difficult to control for a beginner?

  • If you have never flown, it could be good, because you don't know anything yet. But they don't glide or steer when the motors are off, so that can be intimidating.

However, if you learn to fly by being patient, keeping it level, and doing short hops up and down, you will be able to fly any real rc airplane. All RCs are difficult for most to learn, but once you learn, you will be very happy.

  • u should put on lights

  • I have thought about it....Maybe I will. Thanks.

  • I don't think willyking35 knows just how much you know about lights you invented night flying and the lights and stuff for night flying! Pretty much anyway's your definatly the Father of R/C!

  • Thanks.

  • great!I think it's the bestest toy!

  • Yes...all weather too. Thanks.

  • i have seen your test of the mini storm launcher on water and i was wondering would it work if you turned it into a hydrofoil?

  • That is a good question, except you have to go fast enough to get it up on the foils and that is the problem, it just wont. Best to hand launch it then land it in the water if you want.

But it says right on the box, not for water, so you know it isnt very waterproof.

  • where ya get it???

  • Airhogs(.)com, Spinmaster (.)com, Walmart, Kmart Toys rUs, Shopko, etc.

  • I like verry much this plane :D ... o hidroplane ...what is ?=

  • Sled, boat and plane. It looks like a hydroplane though! :)

  • do you fly novice or expert Dave?

  • It doesnt stall as much in novice because the servo is not that precise. That is usually where I fly it, but switch over to loop or fly inverted.

  • hi good job flying the sl anyways how long does the stock battery last and aslo how long do u have to charge the battery...........

  • Thanks. 7 or 8 minutes if you fly full power, and longer at slower speeds. I fly about 3, 3 minute flights and stop and to let the motors cool in between flights, so it lasts longer. It takes about an hour to recharge the battery. I have 3 batteries.

  • is not this a boat :? lol cool

  • hey you should try the airhogs XPV. its flys great! it also has landing gear and lands great too. its really strong and crash-resistand. i watched your reflex vs helix comparison test a few months ago. tht convinced me to buy one, and it worked awesome! after tht we had a elecrticity project in school. i made a light-up helipad and brought it all to school. i took off on it. u have some great videos! happy flyin!

  • Thanks. I like the looks of the boat, I guess and since it works on water I guess I am hooked on the original SL.

I am happy you like my vides. Seen my latest?

  • Is Chewbacca piloting it?

  • *Muahhhhahhh! (*yes)!

  • Great video. You qualify for the award for inability to decide, boat or plane, why decide when you can have both. These things are great. Good video.

  • Thanks kindly. Yep, I love em all.

  • Wow. I was horrible at flying mine. The front bar broke off after it crashed into a sprinkler. Lol.

I just returned it for a helicopter, still from Air Hogs. It took a lot of damamge.

Oh, and that was my 2nd Storm Launcher.

  • my storm launcher will not fly can u help me?

  • Be more specific and I will try. Did it ever fly?

  • No I would make the thing in the back go all the way up and then gun it but it wont work

  • It has to reach flying speed, before you pull back, otherwise it will never lift off.

  • thanks

  • You probably should read the manual. All of them fly, but the engine needs to be toned. First, drive it on the ground for the first 5 or 6 charges.

  • i really dont know how t o fly a plane is it important to know how to in order to operate the storm lancher

  • No. Just do short hops here and there and pretty soon you will learn it. Jeff learned to fly Regular RC planes after learning on the SL. Just don't think you can fly it all around, until you get some 100' take offs and landings, to feel how it works.

  • I FINALLY got a SL for christmas - and had a lot of fun with it - til test flight #6, when the tail fins snapped off at the base =( Tried gluing and taping and gluing again - but it really likes to break itself.

One strange thing about mine, I thought, is that the directional toggle must be nearly all the way to the left for it to go straight..

I still have the horizontal fin - maybe thats why I break it so much...

  • It steers better without the fin. I had the same problem with mine pulling. Try putting a business card curved up and taped on the rear to trim it out for level flight.

  • i dont like storm lanchers that much i like the reflex and havocs ( airhogs indoors helis)

  • Stormlauncers fly like planes and you have to know how to fly.

Reflexes and Havocs are simple "elevator Helis". I don't know how you can compare them. See my video responses above. Either way, have fun.

  • would you say taking off the back stabilizer wise to do ?

  • For me, I like the fact I have more steering control with it off. So in my case, yes.

  • the battery would last a long time because it pretty much only has to drive 2 props

  • True, but it also runs the Receiver and elevator servo motor. These hi amp motors really draw the power. Just listen to them..

  • After 5 minutes the left propeller were still spinning when the remote was off! It completely lost control. I thought maybe the glue had harmed the propellers. Now My mini SL doesnt even start up. Nothing works anymore, what do you think i should do?!?

  • Never ever shut the remote off first. Stray signals cause problems and can hurt you. Turn the tx on first, then the plane. if it still doenst work, take it back.

  • That night i was extremely excited so i started driving it around. I didn't fly it, I enjoyed driving it and right when i decided to wait when winter is over to fly my mini SL outside at the baseball field. The Propeller on the left side broke, it snapped into 2 pieces, I used some super glue to join it together and it worked again, in relief i took my chances and played with it again.

  • The minis do better on handlaunch, since there is no elevator. Be careful with glued props, They flex and can fly off into your eye.

  • Mr.Herbet! As usual i love your videos, you inspired me to start flying! After begging my parents over and over again i got a remote control Helic for Christmas. (Hey what do you expect from a 12 yearold?) And after realizing my parents bought a model plane SIMILAR to the hover lite. I was ready to explode, I took it for a flight and I forgot to set up the Trim. I gave up on helic so i begged my parents for a Mini Storm Launcher from from Airhogs.

  • Thanks. My tips are on the way.

  • nice

  • Thanks. See some of my other videos on the SL, and you will see that it is undoubtedly one of my most favorite and "easy to go fly" models.

  • I'll be sure to take back the xpv 2.0 shadow hawk before I open it. And get the storm launcher with the lipo baterry. And who knows the actual top speed of the storm launcher

  • I think you will be happier. Also see my video "Stormlaunchers revisited, are they worth it"?

It flies around 25-30 mph by our guess.

  • i will buy that strom launcher from you

  • Do you thinks that this is better or the xpv 2.0 shadow hawk. tell the truth because I have the 2.0 and I wanna know if I wanna take it back and get the sl. I have not even takin the 2.0 out of the box yet!!!

  • In my opinion, the SL is much better and a whole lot better looking too.

  • Hi i got some quick questions if i may..

Me and some freinds want one of those

    1) Can a newbie, not a no brainer, like me fly one of those? I mean learn it before we break it? We cant effort a new one or know how too repair it..

    2) How much does it cost total?

    3) If u fly straight ahead, can u rotate around that axe? I don't know if thats called rolling..

Nice informative and funny RC vods. Its really shows u like RC and it does the vod only better.

    cheers for Denmark!

  • If your faily coordinated and can stay oriented you will be fine with one of these. It is a heck of a lot stronger than anything else. I use Electric glue for repairs. There are no ailerons, so it wont roll, however when you learn to use the throttle and turning differential control (right stick) it turns on a time. Thanks for the kudos.

  • Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! thx for the vod. 5/5

  • Thanks very kindly.

  • can it go vertical?

  • Ha ha....both ways.

  • how long was the four flights

  • All total about 20 minutes. Plus I have 3 batteries, so can have lots of fun.

  • ur luky u get snow!!!

  • he i plan on getting one for my christmas present. How long can it fly one one charge? I basically want to hear your input.

  • Once you figure out how to fly it, you will have a lot of fun. I am still flying mine and it runs great. Get a second battery, and remove the fan shrouds, (they suggest that in their instructions too) I get 3-4 , 5 minute flights on one battery. Always let the motors cool before each flight 5 minutes. You will have good success and longer flight times.

  • I hear stuff in the reveiws with them breaking?

  • Everything breaks, if you crash. It is part of modeling. This is stronger than any Balsa airplane though. It is also better to get the feel of flying (and staying oriented) before trying the real thing. People get lost in the air, and that is the biggest causes of crashes. Only 4% of people who try to fly helicopters can. After 4 crashes, and running out of money for parts, they usually get discouraged and quit.

  • I'm getting a havok heli laser battle thing! Those look fun!!!! You should try it we can both make videos of ours fighting our friends! haha Well take care and thanks!

  • Nothing breaks, unless you crash! IF you cannot fly anything or are really badly coordinated. Don't bother.

  • Hey Nightflyyer, I was wondering what is your overall favorite helicopter for peformance and flight control?

  • The Kyosho Concept SX was my favorite gas helicopter.

The Honeybee King II is my favorite Electric.

  • the sound of its defining!

  • Yes, those twins really spin up.

  • Nightflyyer... I want buy a better battery for my storm launcher maybe a 8v will it last longer or just give it more power?

  • It is a lipo. Only can use 7.4 v. More voltage means more power, but less flying time.

Stick with the stock one, and just buy another spare, as it is not worth the hassle.

  • o at the site they said in the instruction pdf caution usses some special battery battery not include (sounds kinda strange is it included???)

  • NO. You have to buy the battery and charger separate. I have tried other batteries, and by the time you change out the plugs and add connectors it is not worth it. Just buy 3 batteries like I did. They work great and are LiPos.

  • ok thanks for the reply, at least they sell them

    on the site

  • i have problems on my storm launcher mini. it wont fly very long. i throw it then it flies really low then hits the ground. what do u reccomend? taking the wheels off or what?

  • Taking the wheels off and putting tape over them will reduce drag. Usually the batteries in the TX is the culprit. They only charge it about 15 times before they need changing. Lights light, but charge time is low. Also, fly when it is breezy, and launch into the wind and stay headed in the wind.

  • thanks for the tips but i dont have storm launcher

  • Why did you make the comments about a broken mini then? They both fly fine, as you may have seen in my other video.

  • your right my mini storm launcher broke within 30 min out of the box these people are ripping little kids of and i am sick and tired of it it really makes me sad

  • Who is getting ripped off? Most people can't fly anything, but still expect it all to be easy and if they cant fly, blame the Maker. It is not the manufacturers fault. They fly good in the right hands. These are delicate and have to be treated that way by understanding the flight characteristics totally. I have not broken mine yet, so I applaud Airhogs. Get someone to help you next time.

  • my plane had some defects and i was not blaming you

  • how long is the flight time?

  • I take several 3 to 4 minute flights, let the motors cool and go again, so I get longer times than folks who just run it til the batteries reach cutoff. That's about 12-15 minutes and longer at 3/4 throttle.

  • aw my propeller broke.

How are you supposed to put the replacement one on!! jeez its like super tight

  • Yes it is tight. I used needle nose pliers to grab the shaft and pull hard.

  • Yeh im stupid.

I turned the storm launcher on and just spun the motor and stuck the prop on now its all loose so i put superglue in it

Hmm hopefully they sell extra replacement ones lol

  • It should have come with 2 extra props. One is left and one is right. I would email the contact at the help page at Spinmaster dot com and they will more than likely get you new props. Your not stupid. Things just happen sometimes.

  • Well the first prop snapped in half.. I screwed up the extra one to. But i super glued it now and flew it for a while an seems good. I just gotta be more careful now (landed it upside down on gravel road lol)

  • did u change the propellers at all and how long does the battery last?

  • You should see my other videos on the modifications. I did not change the props. Just cut off the shrouds and horizontal stab. Battery will go 5-7 minutes per charge.

  • ok thanx for all yer help

  • were can u get them can u get them at local stores?

  • Target, Walmart, shopko, has em..

  • did u use the lypo battery or was it a differnt one??

  • I have tried lots of different batteries. The one I am using is the stock one, and the best for mine.

  • does the prop guard harm your propellers? How do you attach the props? can someone make a video shwing that?

  • The prop guards decrease air flow efficiency. They are on there to protect the props in a crash. It has much more power without them. Just cut them off with sidecutters as I have shown in one of my other videos. The directions tell about the props and it even comes with a tool. Props just pull off and push on. I never broke one yet!

  • will the mini work on snow as well

  • Smooth snow should be fine.

  • No, I got mine at Shopko, but when the motor failed they sent me a new one.

  • That's awesome... sounded kinda like a mosquito on steroids.

  • That looks great. I have never seen a stock SL without the horizontal stabilizer. It makes a big difference to remove it like the one in your video.
