I love the line here, when he says ' you EXPLOIT me! ...ich bin ein Mozart!...Ha!Ha!Ha!...very cute, spontaneously funny, totally disarming!...love this man.
A deeply interesting insight into how a virtuoso pianist of colossal experience approaches a piece of music which he has known,,,but which is now his "jinx". I think most folks have one at some time in their lives. However he overcame his aversion to the piece and "got through it". Those very familiar with the music can perhaps tell if it is played to Horowitz's usual standard. Many thanks for posting,,,Best wishes.
I remember the comeback concerts in london. incredible event even when it did not start yet. The minute before he came on stage was the most electric atmosphere I ever was in. everybody stood up to greet the royal family and then in complete silence the 2000 people were about a minute or two keeping on standing andwaiting for Mr Horowitz coming out on stage and then the welcome cries.... unforgettable....
I think Horowitz and his wife talked in French together in the daily life. i can hear this sentence in 3:50 : "ah, c'est ça que je ne connais pas" that's the thing i don't know
This is a very valuable video. Such a pity there is such a great discrepancy in timing between the sound and the picture. I wonder whether it is possible to have this corrected
I agree I would love to be able to watch his hands when they have the camera on them but it is useless when the sound is so out of synch with the video.
"I'm under orders to get you to begin. Time for the Novellete."
That man insulted me personally with that comment to Horowitz.

makes me feel better that even Horowitz found this piece 'tricky'. the way he plays the second subject = divine
