It's a beautiful song, but the picture makes me laugh. Une onde is French for a physical wave (like a sound wave, une onde sonore) as opposed to un vague which is a water wave.
@aSteveinaBox Yes, but the title's not in French. It's in Italian. Einaudi is an Italian composer. "Le onde" is Italian for "the waves" (plural). And it means waves of water.
I absolutely love his piano music and find it so inspirational…If anybody has a free moment please check out my channel and some of my own work, Thank you and much appreciated
watch?v=lGOKLwkQhaA Please watch my video to Ludovicos awesome song I Giorni :) it has great quality and tried to cover it with 15 years :) Hope you like it ..
I'd kill to speak Italian :'( ! I've gotta wait 6 years until I finish my japanese and korean. I know french but maybe after i'll learn italian. It has such rich culture for such a tiny country. And this music is divine!!! I think languages carry so much with them as you learn them. It's like discovering a whole new world. that's before you hear the music :D!
@zairuku You have to know that every region of Italy has a different sublanguage, an Italian from Milan can't understand another from Naples or Palermo or Florence, so you have the same problem of mine (i'm Italian) anyway the most important thing is learn Italian through school and books and not to learn from dialect or you can visit just a part of Italy but everybody in the world knows that it's has to be visited wholly :)
Sounds nice but nothing spectacular.... If you have any idea how melody and key changes work and what sounds nice then it's not hard to write stuff like this.
@pianowoozle Agreed, that this is harmonicly and rhythmicly simple, though that in my opinion, is what makes the piece spectacular. As sometimes and infact in many cases there is more beauty in simplicity than in complexity
@pianowoozle Wow...the master of melody and key changes talks to us...we, the stupid commnunity, that does not know anything... ... but if its easy like this...why don't you do it by yourself?
@pianowoozle As has already been pointed out, it's minimalism. And music isn't always about the complexity, it's about the story the music tells. The thing with this is the fact there's a re-occuring theme which develops and the dynamics help to change this theme to the end. The adding of different layers also help to create the melody - so yes not hard to write, but to make it sound this beautiful requires skill and musical genius. Oh and there are no key changes - just melodic progressions.
@AdnanKahvedzic16 You may perhaps be referring to Midna's Lament or whatever it's called, from Twilight Princess. Anyhow, this is incredibly beautiful... it takes me to a happier place.
Hi people if you like this track there might be a chance you like some of my stuff.... if you have just a min please check my channel out :0) Thank you

@gsl1989 I am proud to be human. We have many flaws. We are capable of great destruction. But we are also capable of great beauty. Our minds are a divine blessing that gives us unlimited capabilities to destroy but also to create. Throughout history, we have destroyed much, from other species to fellow humans. But time and time again, we have also produce immense beauty as a whole race of humans. We humans are truly marvelous creations.

There is no better composer than him, in my opinion. His music just to invite you to dream .. Such beautiful melodies .. I could listen to me day in and day out and delight in my dream world, my imagination run free .. Just dreaming .. Absolutely gorgeous ..
While listening to this, I was talking to the guy I love. I told him everything about me, about how I have loved him since first grade when we met. I am now 17 and he is turning 18 soon. So am I. Thanks Ludovico. You saved my absent heart. <3
By far my favorite piece. Soo relaxing. Actually, this was the first song I learned to play by him! Everyone should check out some recordings of me playing "I Giorni" Please. Tell me what you think of it, Good or Bad. It wont be a waste of your time. Thank You!:)
@youflamex not that I'm aware of, but it is a very popular piece 'Le Onde' and 'Bella Notte' are probably his most famous I'd say ... although I grew up with a sister and brother who both played the piano, so ... might just be me :P
@acuity1980 Sometimes videos lose their quality or change pitch when put onto Youtube. This can happen when the file has been converted or edited beforehand... =/
Respond to this video... Yeah i guess that can happen with youtube. it´s just weird because this doesnt seem to be a case of a change of pitch, i mean it´s almost a full tone deeper. well.. whatever xD

can anyone explain to me why this version is played in the key a-minor?
in the sheet music and also in his live performances it´s played a key higher,
just wondering ^^

@acuity1980 Sometimes videos lose their quality or change pitch when put onto Youtube. This can happen when the file has been converted or edited beforehand... =/

Respond to this video... Yeah i guess that can happen with youtube. it´s just weird because this doesnt seem to be a case of a change of pitch, i mean it´s almost a full tone deeper. well.. whatever xD
who knows ^^

@Ariannameis
