Damn good lap times. At the last track day I was at, on a dry track the best motorcycles were running low 1 min 30 sec with the optional chicane. I'm sure your times wouldn't be much slower than that.
i'm glad that i have a miata instead of a superkart because i'd be crazy enough to try driving that fast! thunderbolt looked a little too big for my miata, but you convinced me to spend a couple of days on that track. thanks for posting
@finklesk thunderbolt is OK, but I really enjoyed lightning as it had more character and technical driving challenges. But I'm sure that's a personal preference and each track is different in different vehicles. Now that you've done thunderbolt, you need to do lightning.
@chucksterock i have done lightning. i enjoy that one a lot. it is thunderbolt that i have not done yet. i'm trying to decide whether to try thunderbolt at the end of june or try to find a different HPDE around the same time.
Thank you for the answer. I ride super bikes modified with headrest and chest support. I would tell you more about this if I knew you to be riding. What you do with the cart is impressive, I watched the complete video. Be careful, it does look dangerous. hehe, look who is talking.
@keedialexecutive I don't ride a bike on the street or track. I figure I'd be a grease spot somewhere. At least my kart won't fall over or high-side me!
@keedialexecutive Engine output is around 65 hp peak and max rpm is 11,200 depending on tuning. Engine is a heavily modified Honda CR250, a two cycle water cooled reed valve five speed. This particular video was a brand new engine package and was off due to figuring out what it wanted, but was still doing about 115 mph before braking for turn one. With better tune and better driving should be 125 or better.

Why such a tight line? You were only using 60% of the race track.

What are your speeds and what horsepower is the engine rated? What is your rpm in the straights?

What is your speed on the straight and apex speed?

Do you have any seat belts on there? If you got tossed, I'd imagine a set of motorcycle leathers would protect you better than the suit you have.

No belts or restraints of any kind. Leathers would offer more protection but are much hotter, and quite expensive. Eventually I'll get some.
