  • could you do some close up shots next time?

  • I heard this mic is good for rap vocals as well?

  • 3:38 Wow! That has a fuse nob!? I must be pretty old then.

But that's what make it so cool; that and being made of metal and having nice sharp corners.

  • all of the equipment is classic, Respect!

  • You know shit. First of all, your radio shack piece of sh** serves as a preamp.2nd of all, a dynamic mic needs no power supply.

  • How is one supposed to take a microphone review such as this seriously with such rubbish audio - Hopeless!

  • That's a nice microphone, and mixing deck

  • My RE 20 just stopped working on me one day... I wouldn't say it's entirely bulletproof. Now I have to send it to EV Japan.

  • Do you use zero-latency monitoring?

  • Couldn't you save time and money by recording through a computer program on a good laptop and capturing the videos via professional video capture cards on a desktop PC? Not to knock your studio, it just seems you could save money on electricity thar.

  • You use the RE20 is used for inside a kick drum as well...

  • lol @ 0:23 haha back it up

  • Nice hardware. I wish I could afford stuff like this and had the room to use all of this. that DVC deck i could hook that to my TV and record stuff off TV and then put it on the computer like TV shows.

  • Not gunna lie, it's a very inefficient way to record.

  • okay!!!! i can see the microphone.. it's right there, okay!!!!!

  • that is an amazing microphone! at my mom's radio work, they use both those and shure sm7b's, and these deliver a GREAT crisp warm tone.

  • haha! i was looking for info on the mic, i got that same radio shack mixer back in 94. i didnt know any one else ever used it!

  • I've had a couple over the years. Have always been my standard kick drum mic.

  • this is a universal dynamic mic. it can be used with everything with a medium to low tones.

  • Dynamiic is just one of the 3 most popular means of picking up sounds by a microphone. Cardioid is the type of pickup pattern, Like it sounds, it has a heart (cardioid) like shape except it is upside down. This is why you have rejection of sound from computers, electronics, etc... from the back side...

  • Have you tested out the RE27 as of yet? I have heard that it noticably exceeds the quality of the RE20 but am not sure if that's true.

I am curious as to what your thought are on the RE27 -- VoiceTube

  • that echo = win

  • Radiohead used the EV RE-20 for his latest CD In Rainbows

  • Radiohead is a god damn band, not a him.....refer to the singer so you don't sound like an ass.

  • Thanks for the correction :)

  • you know what, I sounded like an ass for a response like that. My apology's.

  • No worries man :)

  • wait huh, please just buss the eff off... you have no clue what the convo was about idiot.

  • What's a convo?

  • I hate people who take things out of context... So you.

  • i think i replied to the wrong comment, or i read it wrong.

  • Oldschool DJ mixer... with 2 faders for everything, holly odd shit, love it! I love old equipment, don't know why, must be for the same reason I love old games and consoles.

  • "..the blue tape there. does nothing" :)

  • haahah

  • my frend has on of those there freking awsome! :D :P p.s im a happy guy lol

  • Do you not even a pop shield fro that mic?

Also are all your reviews scripted or do you ad-lib them?

  • Don't need a pop shield in front of it. Occasionally a P is popped but not often. No reviews are scripted, although I retake lines until it sounds right. -CGRHD

  • Ah cool, so do you talk for ages and then edit it down to the best parts, or do you really commentate on the footage being played in front of you?

  • Talk in front of the footage, the best way to comment on the footage! -CGRHD

  • Indeed, lot more comedy then and eliminates running out of things to say and the dreaded "um and er"

So do you edit all the video together as it'll appear in the final piece, and then voice your commentary over it?

  • Yes. Editing is done first, thoughts are collected and recording is done. Sometimes it takes one take, sometimes many more. -CGRHD

  • @InecomCompany I intend to be starting a show in the future, so this is really handy, thanks=)

Do you have any advice other then getting a vectrex, atari2600, and not annoying windsquid?

  • @InecomCompany where is LORD KARNAGE ?!

  • @ScrewAttackEurope The RE 20 is designed to redirect the air flow to eliminate plosives, so it does not need a pop filter

  • I love mixers. I use one for my audio too. Mine was originally used for a P.A. system, but you don't need an expensive one like mine just to record audio for videos. Anyone that makes videos should own one, or at least a cheap one. they make a world of difference in your voice.

  • no way i got one of those mixers, mine is made by realistic though

  • Woot, more behinds the scenes, thanks for the updates Mark =P I haven't been to a radio shack in so long... They're pricey anyway...

  • This is very interesting

  • this is my favorite online show pretty much, it's cool to see the process of making it

  • nice vid mark, and may i ask if youre the only 1 in the crew?

  • We have an army of unicorns and rainbows that assist in the show. And leprechauns, can't forget the leprechauns. -CGRHD

  • I take it the Elves are still on strike? I don't think Stella ever got along well with them.

  • It seems so, those elves are being real bastards aren't they? :D

  • 5th

    LOL

  • Great Stuff Mark can't wait for more

    BOO!!! lololol

    Classic Game Room ROCKS!!!

  • have you ever used edit station 1 for any of the new classic game room episodes. also what programs did you use for the green screen in the original classic game room

  • Edit-Station 1 is a terminal from 1979, he just sits there and doesn't do much. The green screen was from a TV switcher, green boards and some tv stuff, not sure what it is... it is green! -CGRHD

  • WOW! EDIT-STATION 1 is one year older than your ATARI VCS

  • Another great behind the scenes
