Use to love this game, and Lemmings Dma was one of my favorite companys, just recently realized they are now Rockstar North. A company that deserves there current success.
In my opinion one of THE best games ever. So polished - the game came with 4 (?) different manuals including a novella to set the scene. For me, it ranks along side Monkey Island 1-2, Half life 1-2 and Baldur's Gate 2 as the best games I have played...
@CenobiteAG Cool, obviously lots of people have contributed, but Apple, certainly from their share price, have been a huge success story in the last 10 years. His talent is in good company there. To think he created this game, with some help, but mostly on his own, with just 5mb is staggering. It may look dated today, but you have to consider what he had to work with. I think his brother/some other relation Brian did the music too btw.
my all time greatest game, i remember having my mate over and playing 3 player (one on mouse, one on joystick and one on keyboard) playing 1v1v1. was like an early version of cod in a way. might have to dust off the old 600 and fire her up.
Hired Guns was a masterpiece that should have got a lot more praise. Does anyone know how I can get the music for it. I got one torrent but it wouldn't work!
Thank you very much for this! Played HG years and years ago but never finished that last level, Spaceport. Maybe I was too young then to think about the solution that seemed very easy when you knew what to do. I just wonder about those "canisters" you planted, what was the point to those...
@x2029 It was never actually very well explained within the game itself - you needed to read one of the four manuals where it explained the primary objective - otherwise you would have trouble figuring it out.
I had a coverdisk demo of this. I play that a million times.
I think it was the first time I'd ever been totally scared by a computer game -- but, like the best horror movies, I couldn't keep away! Astonishing atmosphere.
this game brings me back memories i was little more than a child when playing this on Amiga 1200, this was one of favourite games then my amiga stopped working correctly and i missed it so much, i played then later on computer with emulator :)
but i was so freaking and i finished it like it was so damn easy.
Great game and atmosphere. The only negative point was it was a bit fiddly in one player mode controlling 4 characters at once. (only a small negative though).

I like how cubex55 calls the game a masterpiece. That's exactly what Hired Guns is.

DMA Design and Psygnosis made the best games, period. I can't think of a single company besides Blizzard with so many classics.

The Demo was difficult enough. The full game looks awesome.

This game was awesome but I was terrible at it... so perfect for a Longplay video!
Thanks guys!
doshemekluta 3 years ago
This is what I call LONGplay!
I never saw this game before. Looks like Space Hulk, but much better, I guess.
I suck in Space Hulk, so I would suck at this game too, because I don't know how to control four characters at the same time.
I may be wrong because I haven't watched everything yet (I'm in 37:00 now), but there is no map in that game?
This is very difficult!
