However, I must point out that earlier in the summer, Obama was willing to accept an energy compromise that did in fact use offshore drilling. In the end he still opposes it, but he's willing to compromise, so long as we are still able to move forward with industrializing other energy sources.

I'm sorry but where did I say that their aren't values in the wealthy? Many Republicans have said that the Obamas don't hold middle-class American values. Those criticisms were completely debunked last night.

I am clearly pointing out that Barack and Michelle came from very humble beginnings like most of us. They can related to the day to day struggles that we go through.

She said a lot of nice things, but, it came across a little anti-climactic. I liked it, but I think you have to be a bit more of a performer at an event like this in order to hold the general populace's hand and lead them to your point. She kind of just puts her words out there and lets people think about it, which is great, but lets face it, a lot of people were dumb enough to vote for Bush twice and I doubt those dummies will stop and think about what Michelle said here.

Was it when she talked about how nervous Barack was the first day taking his daughter home from the hospital, when she talked about seeing her father with MS still get up to go to work everyday or when she metioned that both Barack and her did community service instead of working for big law firms or on wall street.

Michelle's speech was amazing and all middle-class American can related to Barack's and Michelle's humble beginnings.

I don't think of her speech as a difference maker, but as a ikon on where we are as people. Who cares if it moved votes, the genuine quality and the heart felt compassion that she has for her family is what spoke to me.

She knocked it out the part for reasons beyond making a vote difference - atleast to me.
