Wow, this sounds good! I'm liking this better than the original, which was done by the Carpenters. That rendition sounds nice, but it don't sound like this!
@ TriviaOne. I also heard it on KBLX. I called the station and asked who was singing. They told me "Benet" and I ran out and bought the cassette. Played it so much the letters smeared off. I finally bought the CD years later online. I have them on my MP3 player also. I used to play "Rainy Days and Mondays" back-to-back until I got tired of it.
First heard this song on KBLX back in the day and then bought the cd based on this one song. That is how I usually by cds without knowing anything about the artists. Good music is good music. I just recently put this cd on my Mp3 player. Funny, most people never knew about Eric and his sister and still don't. Two of the best singers out there right now since the early and mid '90s...Eric Benet & Maxwell.....these two brothers don't sing, they SANG!
Eric & Lisa had done this song justice. The cd is pretty good. It was released in 1992. My other favorite songs is 'Stranger Things Have Happened' and 'I Remember When'. Eric Benet has great potential to sing pop ballads. I remember Eric performing on Natalie Cole's show titled ''Big Break' in the early 90's. After this album was released, he then contributed his vocals on 2 Jeff Lorber albums in the 90's before he released his own cd in 1996.
oh my God Pynkchyna anniedomino and gayle i was thinking the exact same thing.... it is so awkward... a wife that is the portrait of his sister... wink wink...
im the artist name jam from milwaukee. I met them when they first came out; and i used to run into to Eric at Roxberry nite club. I always had a crush on his sis, and I got a private signed autograph at their Racine, Wi performance. when they first started. Remember they where on the Natalie Cole show in the 90s. They sang I only want to be with you. Memorable. Lisa is married. I believe stil. And got of the business and pursued a family life when Eric went solo. Peace.
Wow as much as I am a fan of Eric's, I had no idea him and his sister made music together and such beautiful music it is! ... They sound heavenly together - and a beauty she is, no wonder he fell in love with and married Halle Berry she looks just like a prototype of his sister... wow!
I knew Eric and Lisa in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I worked for V100 and these two people were so incredible!!! There music was fantastic back then and I knew back then Eric would be HUGE!!!! I would like to know what happened to Lisa!
wow... I remember listening to this song on KBLX back in the day. This is what woke me up to Eric and his talent for great music. Thank you for posting this.
hey me too ! I used listen to KBLX all the time, then they changed their format, now it's KKSF for Smooth jazz but I still listen to KBLX too :)Shout out to Northern California!
I can't believe this was only added a day ago! I just happened to be looking for it today. Just in time. Great version. It's nearly impossible to cover a Carpenters track and add something to it but Eric and Lisa did a great job. Made me appreciate the original in a new way.
please please: does anyone have or can anyone upload "something real" from the album -Benet-?
Lots of gratitude and smiles...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is really really bad.
Karen Carpenter should be the only person allowed to sing this song.

You Know, every other post on here is complimentary except yours. I guess that shows us you don't know JACK about music quality! Disappear from here!
